I called the day before my visit and again about 15 minutes before arriving to confirm that three specific vehicles I wanted to see were available. I was told each time that the cars were there and ready for me. When I arrived, the salesperson had no idea what I was talking about, couldn't identify the person I had been speaking with, and none of the three vehicles were actually available. Instead, they immediately tried to sell me completely different vehicles that were far more expensive and not what I came to see. It felt like I was being lured to the dealership under false pretenses. A short time later, I found another vehicle they had listed online and considered giving them another chance. Before driving back, I sent a message requesting a simple, current photo of the actual vehicle sitting on their lot so I could verify it was really there. Instead of sending a photo, they ignored my request and repeatedly pressured me to call the dealership to confirm the availability of a car they just said was available over text. If the vehicle was truly on the lot, sending a quick picture should have been easy. Based on my experience, the online listings did not match what was actually available, and I ended up wasting my time. I would strongly encourage anyone considering this dealership to verify that a vehicle physically exists on the lot before making the drive. Or better yet just avoid the headache and gaslighting.

She got excited. We looked up some on carguru and Platt came up in our search. Their place was few miles down the road so we went down thinking we'd be turned away. Peter was more than happy to accommodate. He let us test drive a couple different models including a Bolt. It really opened our eyes to these vehicles. He talked with us after the test drives and was happy to answer questions, give advice and info on all types of EV's (this was after close mind you). We weren't quite ready to purchase a car yet so we left. Peter's non-pushy attitude and kindness stuck with us. About two months later we decided to pull the trigger. I couldn't think of any other place to look for an EV. We had a list of options we wanted and Peter accommodated us and pulled a bunch of cars from their list. We test drove a couple AWD Nissan Aryia Engage+ e-4orce and really liked them. We went ahead and purchased one. It was a lease return with 15k miles. The EV was in great condition and the price was right. They were generous with our trade in and all the paperwork was very swift. I think we were out of there in under 2 hours. We highly recommend Platt Auto if interested in an used EV. You wont be sorry. They have a lot of different models to choose from.

Since I live in Portland where businesses tend to be sharky, I can't say how much I appreciate Platt's down-to-earth approach. Mike was the latest person to go out of his way for me there. But the team members have all been awesome.

The future of car sales by handling everything online is so much more convenient which carvava is proving as effective tools to the old model of in person car sales and financing. Cassie Michaud and Teona Boyer were able to help me by doing everything online and by phone. I highly recommend asking for them in person, when you need to go looking for a reliable Toyota vehicle.

Long version: Buying a car is always daunting, and unfortunately my experience buying a 2026 Camry from Toyota of Gladstone reinforced why. I initially inquired about a used Camry but switched to a new 2026 model. The salesperson sent me a link to the exact car I wanted, and I put down a $1,000 deposit while waiting for it to arrive. The deposit paperwork referenced the wrong vehicle, but I was told not to worry--it had been applied to the correct car. The salesperson was sweet, friendly, and never pressured me, which I appreciated. But once I decided to buy, the process became incredibly confusing. I was presented with multiple versions of paperwork with different numbers. The MSRP was wrong. The Toyota-offer price was wrong. The salesperson went back and forth to someone else easily a dozen times trying to get the paperwork corrected. I eventually started taking pictures of the purchase agreements and comparing them to my original quote myself because I couldn't keep track of what was changing. I eventually made it home with the new car...but woke up in the middle of the night realizing they had never applied my $1,000 deposit to the purchase agreement. I contacted the salesperson the next morning and was simply told it would be refunded in 3-5 days. No apology. Had I not caught the mistake myself, it's clear I would have overpaid by $1,000. Overall, the salesperson was low-pressure and responsive, but the paperwork and purchase process were sloppy, confusing, and riddled with errors. Also, I was promised to get copies of everything I signed, but wasn't provided with them at the end of the day. After three hours of confusion and frustration, I was exhausted and just wanted to leave. As I was leaving, they reminded me, "Don't forget to give us a five-star review!" After spending three hours sorting through incorrect and changing paperwork--and then discovering the next morning that my $1,000 deposit hadn't even been applied to the purchase--I have to admit, that request aged pretty poorly.

Usually I have multiple people greet me now and ask if I've been helped. If I want to look closer at something or am serious about a vehicle and want a test drive I'm not turned away. Good on you guys for paying attention and treating all your customers with respect. On that note I still keep running across vehicles I'd love to buy from you but silly things keep getting in the way. Two main issues: Test drove an M4 awhile back. Double clutch was clearly having major issues. Almost gave my wife whip lash and she just wanted me to pull it over and let her walk back to the dealership at one point. On reporting this to the salesman I was told that the transmission just required a certain special touch. Really? I've driven M4's before and since and their transmissions are smooth as butter, not whatever that was--did I miss the time Jeremy Clarkson went on a diatribe about twitchy Beamer transmssions? Nah, I don't think so. Lesson's simple: don't gaslight your customers to sell something that clearly has issues that should either be resolved in the shop or plainly declared as part of the "as-is" to the potential buyer. Second. Every car I've been seriously interested in has been 10 - 20% over fair market value. I reasonably expect all dealerships to ask more, haggle, and still make a profit, but not tell me I'm wrong after I've literally just performed a deep analysis of every car meeting that criteria sold within the continental united states within the last year. Obviously I too would like to make a good deal and I don't mind being told nah, the price is firm, but bugs me to no end being told KBB, Edmonds, and everyone else is way off while what you're asking is really what's fair market value. Doesn't compute (for me at least) and it literally lost you a sale on a vehicle I was ready to bite on this summer. Lesson's simple: don't gaslight your customers on what's fair market. Either it is or it isn't and if it's not, just say that's how you roll. Transaction ended. Easy peasy. Anyway, until I find my forever vehicle I keep looking. If/when you have something on my list I'll come in, hopefully one of these days it'll be the right car, good provenance will be provided, and at truly fair market price!
