These dickheads will post a car, while not having the car yet. Asked if I could come check it out and was told to come on down. Got there, and turns out it's still at the auction in Seattle. They use photos from an old car they had to draw in buyers and when you finally get to see it it'll be a different one. Never heard of such a thing. I have no problems with them buying cars from auctions, but I drove down for nothing, and it would have been a different truck than the photos anyway. They have a large selection. I can't speak to the quality of the cars, but the other reviews don't suggest this is where you want to buy from. read more

My experience with JD Auto PDX was extremely frustrating. I won't be returning and wouldn't recommend this dealership. I called the day before my visit and again about 15 minutes before arriving to confirm that three specific vehicles I wanted to see were available. I was told each time that the cars were there and ready for me. When I arrived, the salesperson had no idea what I was talking about, couldn't identify the person I had been speaking with, and none of the three vehicles were actually available. Instead, they immediately tried to sell me completely different vehicles that were far more expensive and not what I came to see. It felt like I was being lured to the dealership under false pretenses. A short time later, I found another vehicle they had listed online and considered giving them another chance. Before driving back, I sent a message requesting a simple, current photo of the actual vehicle sitting on their lot so I could verify it was really there. Instead of sending a photo, they ignored my request and repeatedly pressured me to call the dealership to confirm the availability of a car they just said was available over text. If the vehicle was truly on the lot, sending a quick picture should have been easy. Based on my experience, the online listings did not match what was actually available, and I ended up wasting my time. I would strongly encourage anyone considering this dealership to verify that a vehicle physically exists on the lot before making the drive. Or better yet just avoid the headache and gaslighting. read more

If i could give negative starts I would. I bought a car from them and it was trash within three months. Bad transmission. Mechanic wants 9$000 to fix a car I JUST PAID $5300 for! These dudes are scammers. They should be boycotted. Like we should picket there lot forreal read more

I purchased a 2012 Ford focus and they told me the transmission had just been fixed. They told me if anything happens in the next couple days to bring it back and they would take care of it. False picture of the vehicle advertised. The one in the picture was very nice with excellent pictures and detail. When I called to confirm that it was on the lot they said yes. I went there within 15 minutes and was shown a vehicle that was the same make and model but a completely different vehicle. The one advertised was a 4wd and the one at the lot was 2wd and completely worn out. I was kind of expecting that because I had looked at their reviews on Yelp before I went down to see the car but didn't expect it to be that blatant! Don't know how they stay in business and I would be embarrassed to say I worked there! If they want to deny what I've said I've got pictures and a video for anyone to see. read more

Beware!! Do not buy from this lot. Hes a complete scam artist and he's been doing it for a while. I'm currently working with our local news station to do a story on our situation. We purchased a vehicle online and they did a "switch and bait" and we're working with the DOJ and DMV to get our money back. The vehicle he shipped needs a $8,000 transmission and they knew that before they shipped it. Stay away from Dan Nassif at JD Auto! I will not stop until I see justice for this!! read more

unethical and downright slimy sales tactics. They sell cars that should not be driven off the lot and endanger the consumer. These cars are lemons that are not worth 1/10 of what you'll pay. They also misrepresent and downright lie about the condition of the vehicles. Stereotypical used car salespeople. Never never trust this business. I saved for months to buy a car outright so that I could get me and my kid away from domestic violence. They asked me about why I was buying a car and I told them honestly. We chatted about it, they congratulated me on getting me and my kid free. And then sold me a car that broke down (in the middle of a busy intersection) before I even got home. The repairs would have cost 3x what I paid for the car, minimum. I couldn't even sell it for anything but scrap. The mechanic was shocked that they let me drive it off the lot and said that it was horribly unsafe to drive even a short distance. They saw I was an easy mark. I had never bought a car before because part of my situation was financial abuse and they saw this car was an actual need, an urgent need, and they took advantage of me. I found out the hard way that it is perfectly legal for used car salespeople to lie. There are very very few consumer protections and the words "as is" gives them almost complete immunity from being held responsible in any way. My legitimate fear is that someone is going to get hurt because of these unsafe cars that they're selling. I cannot stress how much I do not recommend anyone trust this business or buy a car here. As a car buying tips in general: -always take someone with you who can help you ask questions -document *everything* including exact wording used by sales people -never buy a car "as is" if you have any other choice (i didn't) -don't assume that they see you as a person. Even if they're really nice, just assume that they see you as a sale because you can never know for sure -you are legally allowed to take the vehicle to a mechanic during a test drive. many do free assessments specifically for cars you might purchase -If you're an open and chatty person, it might be tempting to share information like I did. You may even think it will humanize you to the salesperson. Don't. Keep it professional and reserved if it's not about the car or sale themselves. They can use personal information to identify you as a mark. -always try to get some kind of guarantee, even for an "as is" car. You do have the right to haggle for things such as a short term guarantee that the car will run for x amount of time, etc. I genuinely want to say that I'm sorry to every person who has been a victim of this business.. I'm seeing all of these reviews with similarly horrible experiences. It's not okay and they need to be held responsible. read more

This place is a nightmare and anyone thinking about buying a car from them should run.Went over the weekend to get a car then had on website. Got there and the car was nothing like as it was advertised. The car was filthy and smelled like a dog. Hubby looked under hood and checked the oil and the car had no oil. Made a funny noise while test driving it and the blinkers and tail lights did not work. Weird pieces of broken plastic under the hood ad well. Can't hardly understand the sales people they don't speak good English. So many red flags with this place. The car was over 20,000 dollars so glad we did not buy it. Very dishonest place read more

I put a $500 deposit to hold a car there. I called to make a reservation to pick up the car to then come to buy that car I put a deposit for and they said it was already sold. On the phone, I said OK well I need my deposit back. The response they had was "sorry nonrefundable" then hung up in my face. I thank God that I did not sign their deposit forfeiture agreement and I had every right to ask for a refund too. I called the (503) 966-3966 number again after they hung up in my face and when they picked up, I told them Im entitled to a refund, I didn't sign anything and you didn't keep your end of the deal to hold the vehicle for purchase and guess what, they said immediately on the phone "I'm not arguing with you" and immediately hung up in my face. I couldn't believe it. I called the (503)966-3966 number back and I said the same thing they then immediately hung up in my face again and again. I was saying sir, wait a minute let me explain.. hung up. They were so unreasonable. I had no choice but to go through my very bank to file a fraud dispute. These people are the typical sketchy sells men you hear about all the time, these people are scammers. Please learn from me do not put a deposit down they will take your deposit and sell the car right from under you and say sorry it's not refundable and lie making false promises. Communication needs improving! Had a really hard time getting anyone to call me back or answer any questions. Kept getting canned responses from a chatbot instead of from the salesperson I was 'working with' (Marcus), stating they were researching financing options and someone would call me immediately. If I could give below 1 star, I would. My elderly parents bought a vehicle from this place on Tuesday morning and it broke down by 5:00 pm on Tuesday afternoon. My father was left stranded on I-84. They did not return my parents' calls and of course claimed that they could not do anything because all cars are bought 'as is' and they signed a contract stating it was a 'budget' car, which I understand that legally they don't owe them anything. However, ethically and for the sake of their reputation, I would hope and expect they would stand behind their product! Nope, they do not care. 'Unfortunately, there is nothing they can do.' The negative reviews are legitimate, buyer be ware! This place is crooked is as crooked as they come. If this is how they treat elderly customers after a same-day breakdown, that tells you everything you need to know. Their contract may protect them legally, but their response says everything about how they value their customers. read more

Jad was so helpful when I came to helping me get into an amazing car at the best price!

This place was HORRIBLE. Bought a car from them that they said they inspected thoroughly and "had no issues". Less than a week later, it was diagnosed as having a terrible transmission and needing to get it replaced. It was emitting a loud sound (which was heard during the drive test) that was undetectable to me, but should've raised flags for any COMPETENT mechanic. So either they lied about not finding anything or they checked very lazily. Do not buy a car from these people. They're also consistently unreachable and have had a full mailbox for over a month now. read more

very shitty establishment. Would give 0 starts if possible. sold me a car about a month or so ago. RE: JD Auto PDX McLoughlin Portland OR - I traded a perfectly good vehicle in for a 2015 Forester. Had a mechanic they referred check it out and was told the car was in good shape. I paid the mechanic to install new brakes. I felt a fair deal was had by all. Two months later, the dash lights were on, and was told there may be a transmission issue. After being told there may be a easier fix than a new transmission, I never received a call back Just had the oil changed and the technician handed me a disconnected tube as there was no reservoir for the window washing fluid. When I called the dealer, I was unprofessionally dismissed as the "as is" contract was quoted. Who thinks to check if there was a reservoir for window cleaner? I wish it was cracked...not completely missing. JD Auto PDX just became a reason to never buy a used car from a used car lot. read more

I initially had a good experience purchasing my truck. The vehicle had just arrived and wasn't detailed yet, but I liked it enough to move forward. The sales process was smooth, negotiations were reasonable, and I was told clearly that we would handle remaining items emailing required info, returning the truck for detailing, and getting it taken to the DMV after the sale. When I later called to schedule these things, I was told by the owner that unless it was explicitly written into the contract, they "wouldn't do anything" and that I shouldn't be asking. When I mentioned the salesperson who made the commitments, the owner dismissed it entirely, saying the employee "didn't know what he was talking about." It's concerning when an owner doesn't trust or stand behind their own staff. Had I been told upfront that verbal commitments meant nothing, I would have handled the purchase very differently. The truck itself is fine, but the post-sale experience left a bad impression. I'm also frustrated with the sales rep who didn't mention that I would need to get this all in writing. We could have saved a lot of frustration if we had worked to make sure this was all clearly explicitly stated. read more

I had an appointment to see a car at JD Auto and the experience was extremely disappointing. The salesman never welcomed me or even acknowledged the people who came with me. Instead of being professional, he walked past us to get a towel and claimed the water on the windshield was just condensation -- but it wasn't. The car had water in the trunk, on the back window, on the floorboards behind the front passenger seat, and on the front passenger side floor. Every concern I raised was brushed off with excuses. He leaned against another car, staring at his phone, rather than actually helping us. At one point he told me that in my price range, I wouldn't find a better car than that, which came across as condescending -- like I didn't deserve better. On top of all that, he wasn't even dressed professionally. Between the attitude, the lack of care, and the sketchy condition of the car, I would not recommend JD Auto to anyone. I wouldn't go back even if they offered me a free car. read more

Absolutely furious bought a car from these people in October 2025 bought the warranty with it . First time car buyer I walked in to the dealership 3 kids by my side 6,4 and 2 years of age money in hand and a cosigner willing to help me out I stressed to the sales man that I drive a lot I need a good reliable vehicle for me and my kids there father had passed away 3 years ago to mental illness due to suicide trying to make it on my own a single mom with 3 young kids I had the car 3 days and was already calling with issues and the dealership proceeded to tell me to just keep driving it the warranty will cover it after 30 days just take it in the front end was popping and the check engine light came on while at the dealership I had come to realize that the reason they switched the battery was to take the check engine light off so 30 days goes by I take it to the service department at nessian that was on December 4th and I still have not got my car back because the warranty the sold me won't cover the moter that has carbon build up so bad it's going to blow the motor but just keep driving it they said with 3 kids in the car. I would never recommend buying a car from here they are refusing to help me fix my car that they knew had major issues to begin with since they inspect every vehicle before it's sold lies lies lies . Not only did they commit dealership fraud by not discloseing the major issues with the car they proceeded to sell me a warranty that doesn't cover the issues it had when they sold it to me and them working with me was them trying to make me pay 1800 for Nissan to tare down my motor them tow it to there shop and fraudulently use the warranty check for the struts and axles that did get approved to be replaced but not to replace those but to use that check and there service department to replace the motor more fraud and disrespect twords me and there company I don't think your supposed to do that. Taking advantage of a girl with 3 small children who has lost so much in life is absolutely appalling missed appointments missed work missed kids activities school functions because JD Auto decided instead of making things right and replacing what was already broken before I bought the car when they know they were wrong they decide to be disrespectful unhelpful and I do not recommend them to nobody read more

Horrible experience. We were excited about a red Subaru Forester and had downloaded and fully expanded all photos, which showed zero damage inside and out. It had roof rails but no crossbars. We drove 3.5 hours one way to buy the car. But when we got there, they had a different red Forester that was in their pictures online. It was quite beat up and had nasty wear on the front and rear leather seats, a dent outside and scrapes all around the car. It was definitely NOT the same car as in their ad. It also had crossbars on the roof rack, so it obviously wasn't the same car at all. We were very pissed and spoke to the owner. He apologized and called it a "clerical error" where they posted the wrong pics for this car. We called it Bait and Switch. The car was also filthy inside. RUN do not WALK away from these sheisters!! If I could leave a zero star review I would. My husband and I went searching as a sort of last resort for an affordable vehicle. Our salesperson was nice enough and heard all our concerns about reliability and function. He said they don't keep a list of what all is wrong with each car, but each one "is checked out". Less than 24 hours after leaving the lot, we went to have the oil changed only to find out it was not the oil but a crack and damage so severe two separate mechanic shops suggested we get the entire engine replaced costing more than the value of the vehicle. After two days of trying to get a hold of a manager or owner, I finally spoke to Daniel (apparently a co-owner) who went on and on about how "people call us with this all the time" and there is "nothing we can do". I suggested partial credit back; even giving them the vehicle back to get another one from them that we have looked at in advance. He said "there is nothing we can do. We checked out the car" when I pointed out that no, he did not do that, he said "yeah, it was running when you bought it." Both mechanics in different shops told me it was "dangerous" to drive that car. JD is lucky it didn't explode on the test drive as it was "only a matter of time in the next few hours of driving" before there was a catastrophic failure of the engine. And after an over 15 minute call with Daniel, he said he did not care and there was nothing they could do. Daniel blamed his salesperson for any confusion "he's just trying to sell you a car". And maybe he's right? I hope not. I'd like to believe that the sales guy meant what he said when he told me that he's sick about it and he wants to quit - I guess we'll see if he still works there in a few days. Daniel (owner) repeated several times in our conversation that "people call like this all the time" and I asked him "so do the cars you sell catastrophically fail often?" and he said "people call like this a lot and that's why we sell you the warranty". Which, was not actually offered. it was just one of the 12 sheets of paper pushed in front of my husband to sign without explanation during the purchase. Please do not risk your family's hard earned money here. read more
