During the pandemic we bought a 30 year old fixer up home in the mountains of CO. The windows and doors were leaky and had not been properly maintained; they were warped, did not shut or lock properly and the screens were either torn or missing. Eric Prouty and his talented crew from AWAD looked at our big project. They cautioned us that they could start our restoration but that due to pandemic supply chain and manpower issues, they could not guarantee a speedy endpoint. It has been a little over a year and 95% of our project has been completed. Our windows, doors and screens look and function beautifully. Once everything is painted they will look brand new. Many of our other contractors have remarked on the fine workmanship they have noticed being done by AWAD. Before we found AWAD we had started pricing new windows. Eric and his team have saved us thousands and thousands of dollars! This company is the best kept secret. They are extremely busy but were good communicators in keeping us up to date on back orders and delays. We are grateful our realtor knew the caliber of their work and referred us. They were so helpful every single time we needed them. I am a decorator and I am helping my son remodel their kitchen. Our biggest challenge in the home was the kitchen. With it being a smaller size kitchen our challenge was trying to get everything he wanted into the room without making it look crowded. To start the process, New Box drew us kitchen plans that help them be able to see the cabinets, all the kitchen equipment and created a space for a pantry. The way they drew the kitchen allowed us to see the flow of the space. Honestly both locations helped us with their cabinets, guidance on a color or style, marble verses manmade stone. When a company has only 5 star reviews, I wonder if the are real but this company deserves all the five stars reviews. He presented me with an estimate for the window repair and I immediately agreed to the price and let him know. That's where everything stopped. I waited and waited and waited even more for a call back with an estimate but my numerous calls, texts and emails were never answered. I finally sent an email asking for his advice on window repair versus replacement and he emailed me back basically telling me what a bad idea we were thinking of, but he never gave me the courtesy of even a short email saying he was too busy to take care of the repair of our windows, especially the one that was blown out by the wind. Summit county has very few people who do the work the owner does, so I totally understand he was too busy, but why did he not respond to my repeated texts/ calls/emails so I could just move on and find someone else? When I agreed to the pricing I figured he was at least interested in doing the work and we were willing to wait. I also had a house full of other windows needed adjusting, so it wasn't like this job was too small. I eventually had to go out of county to find a reputable service but I would have contacted them much sooner had I figured out the owner did not want my business. Unfortunately I had to have his business removed from my realtor's recommended service providers because I could no longer endorse the company. I am disappointed that so many contractors and service providers don't give potential customers the courtesy of a quick text or email saying sorry, they have plenty of work and don't want extra work. Maybe some day these folks will need the work and I won't be using them. If you are looking for window repair or servicing in the Summit County area, look further west to the Vail Valley or Eagle area. Summit County has so few, and the one I thought was the best fit is unresponsive.

There is no communication to when they are coming out to do a site visit. Then they will cancel your scheduled install and not tell you. At this point when you call Jake, the owner, to find out why, he will avoid your calls and emails, then finally yell at you, the paying Customers, for not having everything painted and finished but at the same time needs the drywall cut back to the studs to mount their garage doors (see picture). Beware, they do not do this part of the job themselves. Then Jake will tell you they will void the warranty if you have drywallers or painters come back in to fix/touchup the mess around the garage doors. Jessica, also a owner, has a little better communication. She's informed me they are short staffed right now and don't have the employees to do all the jobs they've taken on. I wonder where their employees went... Don't worry though, she's assured me they know what they are doing and have the same high-end product and way of doing things to match the high-end houses they are take on. Buyers beware, from someone who is in the business of building high-end homes with finished garages their product and service doesn't even meet the lowest of standards. The only thing "High-End" are their prices.
