My cab driver was difficult to understand and not a good driver. He put my destination address into his GPS and I watched as he bypassed two different exits that would have brought me to my hotel. He then drove past the hotel and took me through a residential neighborhood for no apparent reason except what seemed to run up his meter. When I called him out about not taking the GPS route he mumbled something about his way being better. Better for him maybe but not my fare. I would not use this cab company again. read more

I was staying downtown and called for a cab to the airport at 8 AM on a Saturday. I was told they don't have cabs in that area and then they hung up on me. read more

Very professional and arrived early. There was no shuttle service from my hotel to the airport so I searched for a cab. Lyft took 30 min to arrive to the airport the night before to take me to the hotel (it was also a busy night with a lot of cancelled flights). I searched for a cab online to find out who to call in the morning and Crown Can popped up in my search. They had an app. I downloaded the app, created an account and booked a cab for the next morning! This was great as I was nervous I would be stuck waiting for a cab after I called in the morning. The next morning I entered the hotel lobby 10 minutes before the scheduled pick up and they were waiting!!! Very nice driver. Encouraged me to get coffee before we drove off. As a 30+ woman, I felt very comfortable getting a ride. I will take them again next time I'm on Charlotte and need a ride! read more

All over the scale with Crown Cab, I've had taxi drivers call me three times to tell me they were going to be early and I've had to call repeatedly when the driver was late. I've even had them confuse the name of my development and call wondering where I am. And sometimes, they are right on time. Crown Cab has a website for ordering, which I find very helpful. The cars range from clean to simply untidy and some of them have the "check engine" light illuminated on the dashboard. The drivers are always friendly and when the same one comes by a second or third time, they remember the pickup. I'll keep using them. read more

I had a good experience with Crown Cab. The cars they use are very clean and more new. Compared to NYC, I would opt for Crown Cab. They have better flat rates and a smoother ride. I would like to place four stars on this review to help balance the bitter reviews on here. Grade: B read more

Very respectful and pleasant to talk with. Would have her take me and appreciate her company anytime..... She knew where she was going, the ride was smooth and careful and she also was a excellent driver, I trusted her driving...... Would love to have her as my driver again.... read more

I made a phone reservation with these guys to take me to the airport 10 days ago and then, by coincidence got picked up by one of their cabs when I was returning home. The driver on the way out was on time, but didn't even offer to help me lift in my bags -- he just sat there and made me haul them up into the van passenger area with me, which, OK, I can do it, but what if I'd been old or feeble or something? Then he takes me the long(ish) way around to the airport to run up the meter. I tell you what, I'm going to give a cab driver the same amount one way or another to get me to the airport. They can take me the long way around and run the meter up, or they can go the quick way and keep a big tip. On the way back, the guy gets me into his cab (again, I get to pull the suitcase up into the passenger area of the van with me) and then...we go nowhere. He gets out, looks under the hood, opens and closes it a few times, tries to get me to tell him what's going on with the lights on the meter in the van. Finally we go without meter (total violation -- I could have just gotten out but I was on the end of an 18 hour international trip and I just wasn't feeling up for a fight). But, this dude, I tell him where I live and he takes me right there the way I'd go if I were driving my own car. So that was a plus, at least. In both cases, the cab vans were pretty seedy and gimpy and dirty. I wouldn't send them to pick up a guest I wanted to impress, that's for sure, but on the other hand, they've never been late even when I needed to be picked up at 4 a.m. -- I think that time, the driver slept in his cab outside my house. read more

I waited at the Northlake mall for a half hour for the usual cab company I use so I called crown cab and they sent a cab right over. Very clean cab and good customer service!!!! read more

I had an early flight today & called Crown around 11:30 last night. They booked my pick up, no problem. This morning the driver called to say his GPS placed him three minutes late; however, he was actually right on time. His car was a brand new Prius, leather interior & was immaculate. This service was efficient, reliable & comfortable. read more

At one point I would have rated 5 stars. But after scheduling airport pickups 3 times and being 30+ minutes late 3 times and now I am at 1 hour late this time after being told 15 minutes ago they were 7 minutes away.... Well you do the math. I won't say horrible service, but I will say it sucks bad. read more

I waited outside in the heat for this cab company for almost 30 minutes, with a quote of 15. Then when they try to connect me to the driver he let the phone ring to answering machine... In about another five minutes later they apologized and said they couldn't get a hold of the driver themselves. I had to then wait another 15 minutes so almost 45 minutes total for different cab company to come. read more

I was injured in a car accident and needed a ride home from the ER. I called for a pickup outside the ER entrance so the driver new I had been injured and was taking me home. I asked him to stop at the pharmacy so I could get my prescription filled and I would pay for the time and he refused to wait. Dumped me out and told me to call for another taxi, he had to go pickup another fair and couldn't wait. What an A hole. Never will I use this service again, I would rather walk read more

Trying to navigate through Charlotte airport and attempting to change lanes, Crown Cab driver in car 990 refused to let me over, he clearly saw me and had ample opportunity to be polite, but refused. Just take Uber or Lift!! read more

The service was good and very polite. I enjoyed my ride and I'm looking forward to riding with Royal Can again.

I have to give credit where credit is due. My husband and I took a Crown Cab from the airport last night after a long travel day from Cabo San Lucas. We got home and quickly realized (10 min later) that a bag was missing and my husband realizes he put it in the back seat and it must still be in the cab. We paid in cash so had no receipt or anything with driver details. I just happened to notice it was a white van because we were so tired details weren't really standing out. I called Crown Cab and told them the situation and that all I knew was it was a van and the man says he will put out a message to everyone. He called me back 5 minutes later and had me connected with our driver. He drove it back to our house at no charge (we of course tipped him). I was impressed. Thank you crown cab! read more

My husband left his phone in the cab and with the help of several dispatchers and the cab driver, it was returned to him. We truly appreciate the effort they all put in to get it back to us. It would have been a costly hassle for us if it had not been found. Thank you! read more

The cab showed up right on time. The driver called me to give me a 5 minute warning that he was on the way. The campus I work at is large and has security and it can be a hassle to get through but Crown Cab allowed for this and was very prompt. The driver was courteous and the car was well marked and clean. I will definitely use Crown Cab again. read more

Extremely unreliable. I made a reservation a few days prior to my trip. On the departure day, no one showed up. No call, either. I was very worried so I called them. I was told that they didn't have any drivers at the time. As a result, I missed my international flight. If I was informed earlier, I would have been able to make other arrangement in time. But the company is completely lack of professionalism or basic courtesy. As a service company, reliability is very important. But this company failed completely! read more

I needed a ride to go get my car 1st the said 15-20 min it took 45min for pick up. Then he wants to be too friendly with my 15 yr old daughter. Next he is texting on phone, in and out of lanes, driving fast.....with nope 1st experience in a cab never again. Crown Cab sucks read more

I have been with this cab company for long. You can expect a quality and timely service. This is the best in charlotte at least.

Most miserable experience I have ever had trying to get a taxi. Called at 6 AM. Was told 15 minutes. 30 minutes later, no taxi. So I called again. The dispatcher apologized and said he had written down the wrong address; verified the address again. It would be another 20 minutes. Waited 20 minutes, still no taxi. So I called again. I was told that the ride had been canceled. So I asked if and when the taxi would be here. I was told they did not even serve the area I was calling from. Miserable Miserable Miserable service. Don't even try to get taxi service from this horrible company. read more

Order a cab online today at 11:00am for pickup at 1:22pm. Call them at 1:33pm to find out that no one had been assigned the job. This is the worst cab service in Charlotte NC. Don't use this unprofessional service. Not only do the can service stuck but the customer people are just as worst. read more

Owner contacted to request another shot and says they are working on improving things. I don't live nearby so don't have a chance to try them but it's been long enough that I agree they should get another chance and you can judge by more recent reviews than mine! read more

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE!!!!! I am disabled and had to make reservations two days to get my daughter to her driving lessons. Day 1 the driver did not show at all, He did call, but since I did not answer, he assumed no one was there and did not (I think) come all the way to the house. He insisted that he did and blew and blew but I know he did not because the reason I did not answer the phone is because I was looking out the window waiting for him. Needless to say, my daughter missed her driving lesson. Day 2: I called an hour before to confirm my reservation and relay my experience from the day before and to ASSURE that she ASSURES the driver we are here and ready to be picked up. The driver never showed. This time I did not "give the driver a few minutes" but called immediately. They could not reach him but did have a driver in the area that could come get her. She was late, but did get to her lesson. They are scheduled to pick her up and bring her back home, I can't wait to see how that goes. These people are very unprofessional! read more

This Company Does not cover injury or loss if the taxi cab Hits your vehicle so this means you may not be covered while riding in it. My wife was hit by one of there cabs over a year ago . Not one medical bill has been payed. Our vehicle was covered by my underinsured motorist coverage . The driver had state limits only . so ride at your own RISK. read more

I travel frequently for business to and from the airport by taxi. I use their online taxi ordering system to schedule a pick-up, typically the night before I travel. So far this year, they have always called me when in route, been on time, loaded my luggage in the trunk, drove safely and directly to my destination, accepted my credit card payment, provided me with a receipt, and unloaded my luggage. The vehicles are standard, although many show their wear both inside and out. The drivers vary, but are typically personable. They meet my needs and I intend to continue to use their services. read more

I have been with this cab company for long time. Nice management and drivers. Always good customer service experience.

These guys left us waiting for 30 minutes and didn't pick us up. No call or anything. They are a waste of time and unreliable.

I booked a car to the airport via the app 24 hours in advance and received a confirmation number. I received a call 10 min before the scheduled pickup and was told there were no drivers in my area. The whole reason I booked in advance was because there are usually no Uber drivers near me early in the morning and like the advance booking service. I have no reason any longer to use thus company if I can't rely on a confirmed booking. read more

The absolute worst cab company in town, which is saying something for a non-taxi town like Charlotte. I made a reservation online (with 24 hrs notice) as I had a lot of bags and was to be picked up in a non-central part of town (Mountain Island Lake). Despite having an email confirmation, the cab never showed. When I called to inquire the status, the dispatcher was rude and incompetent - stating she could not find my reservation and patching me through to a taxi driver. The taxi driver didn't understand a word I said. Finally, I called Yellow Taxi and they picked me up within 10 minutes (saving the day and my rapidly melting groceries). If you have to use a taxi service, do yourself a favor and only call Yellow Taxi. I learned the hard way! read more

I called at 9:00 a.m. to reserve a cab for noon. I was going to the hospital for out patient surgery, so it was important that the cab be on-time. The driver arrived about 11:45 a.m. and drove me efficiently to where I was going. The big thing, though, is that my phone slipped out of my pocket, and I left it on the back seat of the cab when I exited. Thank goodness the driver noticed it, and was able to track me down in the hospital lobby, and return it to me. It goes without saying, that this helped me avert an epic disaster, and I will always be grateful to that driver. read more

I called for a cab to the train station and miss my train because the driver told the dispatcher he already picked me up and drop me off. The whole time he never showed up or called! I kept calling the dispatcher and she told me she didn't know what was going on with the driver. So I missed my train and had to wait until the next day to leave. They suck and need better drivers! I won't call them again! read more

I made reservations via their online site 7 days prior to my coming to Rock Hill, SC. The cab arrived timely at the train station in Charlotte; but, had no idea how to get to my hotel in Rock Hill. I had to direct him. For my return trip, it was worse. I made a reservation to get back to the train station from Rock Hill at 6AM sharp. I EVEN confirmed the day before! I, also, made this reservation on their online site, so it plainly states the to and from in full detail to include City, State, AND Zip! They NEVER showed up because the cab called me and said, "They gave me the wrong directions! I'm still in Charlotte! I'll call you back." Needless to say, they never called back. The hotel I stayed at got me a better cab company who got me to my train with 5 min left to spare. Next time, though, I'll take my chances with the 9 hour drive myself. I'm sure they're a great service as long as you're staying IN Charlotte; but, anywhere outside of that area, go to another company or drive there yourself. They got the one star because they, at least, took me to my destination when I arrived. read more

Used this cab service for over a year, twice a week, for transportation to and from the CLT airport. The cabs have always been dirty and smelly, but I liked being able to make a reservation the night before (unlike uber or lyft) so that my cab would be "ready" for me at 6:00am every Monday for my flight. I have had cabs that smelled like vomit, old food and trash within the cab, and the drivers are not always polite. I normally do not ever write re views or complain, but this service is horrible. I have used them since July 2015 and will never again. Last week I made a reservation for 6:00am like I always do and my cab never showed. The dispatcher the night before seemed out of it anyways, and then when I called when my cab didn't show, it was the same "loopy" dispatcher. He said "sorry there are no cabs near you." I immediately called a Lyft in fear that I would miss my flight. Of course at that hour the Lyft was 15 minutes away. Thank goodness the Lyft got there and was incredible. Clean car and polite driver that got me to the airport timely. The last straw was during my Lyft ride, a crown cab driver called me, and when I told him that they were over 20 minutes late for my reservation and I had already left, he hung up on me... I will never use crown again. Lyft is MUCH better, cleaner, and reliable. read more
