Delaware Tire is the foremost supplier of feet for our cars and trucks. Their's is a reputation…read morebuilt on integrity, quality, and caring. Without a doubt, they are who you should turn to when anything on our vehicles has a "boo-boo". They are the preeminent supplier of tires for fleets, tune-ups (for Newark & Dover Delaware & Salisbury Maryland), and any suspension issues like caster, camber, toe angles. They are experts in CV joints, axles, drive trains, wheel bearings, brakes, etc. For example: I needed a tire for my girl friend's GMC Envoy. They checked it and said the other side was pretty worn so I looked and agreed. They suggested putting the new tires on the rear (and patiently explained the science to do so). Looking at my rear tires, we discovered that they also were worn beyond all hope. I decided to get 4 new tires (at a price I anticipated for just 2). I left while they were in process and shortly got a call from Tom the Newark manager. He asked if I wanted to go through with the purchase given that there were so many issues needing attending to (there's integrity). The list included rear seal motor leakage, front seal leakage, front wheel differential leakage (in both the left side and the rear), driver side front tire CV joint boot ruptured and axel bearing shot, pitman arm and idler arm loose/worn Mounting Brackets, Bushings, Bolts and Nuts, Washers, and Spacers (for proper alignment gaps), and a host of other suspension issues. Immediately listed the issues and sold the vehicle. I am a super satisfied customer of many vehicles. Note: I live in a very hilly area in Landenberg and use 4-wheel in the winter. Never had an issue getting through for decades now with the incredible grip/wear tread of the many sets of tires for the many different vehicles I have owned (and my dear sweet wife when she was here on this planet). I confess to a bunch of off-roading too. (When you absolutely want to test BF Goodrich tires: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQeIjeHwFms)

She actually had a valve issue that was clearly identified on the diagnostic code he ran and was fully covered by Subaru. Despite this, Al told her the car was unsafe to drive without replacing the radiator and pushed the repair. After the radiator was replaced, the car still did not function properly. The issue was ultimately fixed at Subaru when the valve was replaced. When confronted, Al acknowledged that she probably should have gone to Subaru first, yet he offered no compensation or accountability for charging her for an unnecessary radiator and labor. This wasn't an honest mistake; it was poor judgment at best and predatory behavior at worst. I'm posting this so others can avoid the same situation. There are plenty of mechanics in the area (e.g. Everest Automotive) choose one with integrity who won't scare customers into unnecessary repairs.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: Took a vehicle to them for a simple Maryland State Safety Inspection, which…read moreultimately ended in an assault by their employee. The inspection staff and shop manager was verbally abusive when you question their work. Then a third employee decided it is ok to punch a customer in the face. I don't care how heated a discussion gets you don't assault your customers. Interestingly enough I contacted the CEO Mike Montgomery via email regarding this matter and as of 5/4/24 he has not responded. It would seem if a customer took the time to contact the owner due to issues with his employees to include necessitating a Cecil County Sheriffs response you would respond and engage said customer? I am really a pretty reasonable person, but when staff give me the proverbial middle finger when I speak to them and then another staff member physically assaults me I tend to become a lot less reasonable. Updates below in reverse order by date: 5/9/24 UPDATE: Maryland State Police (MDSP) came out and looked at the vehicle and it passed. The MDSP treated me like a valued customer. I sent a review to MDSP telling them how much I appreciated their assistance and explained that even if they failed the vehicle I would have accepted that answer because of the professionalism exhibited by the MDSP. The MDSP did not verbally abuse me, talk down to me, or physically assault me. As for the business I hear crickets, which speaks volumes to their actual business practices. 5/7/24 UPDATE: Took the vehicle to another shop for a 2nd opinion and they confirmed what I thought, which is their mechanic is incorrect. Unfortunately I guess I will need to contact Maryland State Police Inspection Folks and see what my recourse is. ORIGINAL REVIEW: If you want to risk being assaulted by their staff take your vehicle to them. They are verbally abusive when you question their work. When they get their feelings hurt then they decide to assault you. Never again will I take or recommend anyone to use this shop. I don't care how heated the discussion gets you don't assault your customers.
