GO SOME PLACE ELSE! I purchased tires on Amazon and brought them here to be mounted and balanced. Expecting to pay $20.00 per tire. They charged me $45.00 for each tire! Taking off a wheel and busting, re-mounting, and balancing a wheel takes about 6 minutes a corner for an unskilled laborer. This was a TOTAL RIPOFF! Also, unless your car is brand new. You can expect them to find many repairs that just "must" be accomplished. Like "weak" TPS sensors, and astronomically expensive filter replacements. At least this Mavis location is far more interested in padding your bill than they are in fixing your vehicle. Save your money and go elsewhere. You have been warned. read more

Had a tire plugged but they wanted to charge me an additional $15 for balancing the tire. It was never taken off the car and I asked how and why would it need to be balanced. Anyone knows you can't balance a tire on the car. Would not let me leave without paying for balancing. Crooks! Another time I asked them to mount a tire on a rim and they said they could only mount a new tire purchased from them. These people are not to be trusted. read more

I took my car for 2 front tires. They recommended struts ( refurbished struts at that finding out after the fact). I was overcharged by $550. The manager got nasty with my wife after questioning the bill. The manager egged me on into a argument. Leaving the parking lot there was a strange banging noise. Had to take back the next day. They didn't tighten up the bolts on the frame of my car. I have taken it back 4xs to repair They can't repair it. I had my mechanic look at it and because of not tightening up the bolts they damaged the frame hole and won't tighten. They take no responsibility for this situation. Horrible shop, Horrible experience, Horrible manager and regional manager. They dont have certified mechanics working there with more than 1yr experience. I brought my Jetta here a few months ago for an unknown engine issue right after I moved to the area, they said I needed 4 new engine coils. I said fine replace them. When less than a month later the car engine got worse, I brought it somewhere else. The new shop said I needed 2 new engine coils, I was confused because I had just replaced all 4... they said 2 were new, not 4... was I sure? I went home and found my receipt from mavis, yep 4 new coils. In between that week I took 2 cars (a Jetta and GLI) back to mavis for the inspection. Funny they said my brakes AND tires needed repair on the Jetta and the GLI which is nearly brand new needed window wipers- fine (not thinking much of scam) replace them to pass inspection. My husband also got the WRONG OIL put in the GLI... I not only don't recommend this place, they're lucky I haven't reached out to the BBB. Sad I have to give them one star. Extremely slow service and inexperienced staff. I had an appointment and it took 45 minutes to pull the car in the shop and another 45 minutes to change one tire. An apology and a little old fashioned custom service would have helped.......however, they lacked on that also. no one here must know anything about what they are doing. had my oil changed there once because I needed one and didn't have time to do it. so next time I changed it I found they used some kind of filter that obv wasn't the right one I couldn't even find it on the internet to see what it was for. and they cranked my oil plug so sight they beveled the washer into a dome. I broke two wrenches trying to get it loose. same with my tires that they changed and wore out after about a year when I tried to take them off they had the lug nuts so tight it took over 200 pounds of pressure to break them loose never going back for anything. read more

Predatory business. Avoid this shop at all costs. Called to arrange single tire replacement selected mavis based on quote. Was explicit about other charges that would be billed. When I showed up everything changed and with up charges, hidden charges and additional fees that were previously quoted to be waived. My bill was increased by %70. I will never return. Stay away especially if you are a woman. Also side note the guy taking my money coughed in his hand then tried to hand me my change. I told him to keep it. Gross. read more

Went in for back drum brakes, said everything was bad, wheel cylinders, hardware and drums. Price- $567. Are you kidding me. I look at the drums, didn't need them. I'm sorry I let them do the wheel cylinders at 60 a pcs. It took them 4 hours and way too Expensive. Will not go back. read more

I'm writing to inform you of the terrible customer service received by the STS in Oxford, PA. I reached out to STS to have work done on my A/C compressor. The job in all was precisely quoted at $630. I setup the appointment and when I dropped the car off the Manager increases the price by $190. He completely changed his mind once we were in the store. After the increase, STS was no longer competitive with the other quotes I received. Instead of establishing a new mechanic relationship we will never use STS for future maintenance and repair needs. Lastly, the representative lacked in showing any sort of professional attitude or sympathy for the extreme inconvenience this incompetent quote caused. read more

After spending ALOT of money on four of the best Michelin tires & alignment, he could at least have the courtesy to ask me if I was satisified or any questions. Nope! After extremely poor customer service and price gouging at the store I called corporate and was able to get the tires I wanted at a reasonable price. Corporate was supposed to call the Oxford store and have the tires installed on my vehicle. When I called to check the status they where rude and told me that corporate called and said not to put the tires on and that it was my fault for not letting them know after corporate told me they would handle it then he hung up on me. when I called back I was told they didn't hang up then I was talked over untill I got mad and was hung up on a second time. When I called back was told I should not talk to them that way and was hung up on a 3 time. I picked my truck and left. read more

I am very unimpressed with Mavis Discount Tire. I scheduled an appointment for a state inspection several days ago. I spoke to a woman on the phone explaining I would need to wait for the vehicle and that I couldn't possibly leave it due to lack of additional transportation. I have one day a week that I can get out of work early to bring the car in. She scheduled the appointment telling me they were free all day on the day I needed it done and to pick a time. I even repeated the appointment date and time to confirm before getting off of the phone. When I got in there, the man at the desk had no idea why I was there. He then told me that the woman had scheduled the appointment for 10 days later. It wasn't even on the correct day, much less date. Needless to say, I now have to find somewhere else to get my inspection done. read more

So I go in for an oil change and to have my tires rotated. Not 50 miles later, I am going 57 mph and hear a horrible noise. Sounds like a flat tire. Drive it to another service station only to find out that my left back tire was ready to come off! The lug nuts were never tightened.
