Of all the dive stores is the Greater Vancouver, this is one of the two that we use the most (the…read moreother one being much closer to home). The reason is the EXCELLENT customer service. We deal primarily with George and, if we have had any problems (eg a camera malfunctioning or a travel bag's wheels breaking) he has taken the item back immediately. Often they will replace the item or offer a store credit even before checking with the manufacturer if the return is ok. For this reason, we return again and again to purchase more equipment. They have a good selection of everything: wetsuits, drysuits with undergarments, and some novelty sale items from time to time including wetsuits or lightweight neon tropical BCDs. Their regular selection is standard-priced. They sell Mares rather than Scubapro and we bought some new fins, Volo Power, which are lightweight and easy to use at the suggestion of George, and have been pleased with them. Good selection of accessories as well. Dive and Sea also offers instruction, with open-water dives at Whytecliff in West Van, EFR training etc. Although the staff will make suggestions, I have never felt here as if I'm getting a "hard sell". It's a comfortable store and we always look forward to going there, even just to have a look around. (Dive stores are like candy stores, hard to leave without buying something!) To get to this place, you must be heading North on McBride as it's impossible to make a left turn heading south.

Its a mirror of the downtown coal harbour seawalk. It has a pretty nice stretch from one end to the other. So what's interesting here: -There are hammocks set up for people to relax -There are sun loungers that flip from one end to the other depending where you want to face -Volleyball courts for small gatherings -A nice green area for people who just want to sit in the sun -A kids play area -A nice path for walkers like me. This is a very well laid and thought through park. Lots of design ideas has been put into it. I am impressed.

Be warn you can get burned. There are many sun loungers which can be flipped to face the other direction. There are a few swings for children and toddlers. There is also a patch of greenery where yoga classes are conducted, and all are welcome. The concession stand is open during summer, great for a quick snack or an ice cream cone. Benches are everywhere for you to relax and enjoy the view of the Fraser River. It is a nice easy walk. Plus if you are still into Pokemon Go, there are gyms and pokestops around too.

The parking lot is quite full. There were many classes going on when we were there for an event. Signages are more pictorial rather than in words. Also, the folks at Bonsor can be awkward if you're a woman swimming alone. I've also tried Eileen Pool. Ultimately, I settled on this one because it's newer, more spacious, and forced me to get used to practicing in a pool where I can't touch the floor at all. After a few weeks of regular practice here, I'm no longer anxious when I cross the boundary between the shallow and deep ends (at other pools). As a bonus, I haven't had unsolicited creepy comments from anyone here - they seem to be generally respectful. They also have lockers that you don't need to pay for, nor do you need to bring your own lock. My chlorine sensitivity is usually not triggered by the levels at this pool either. They also have a leisure pool but I find it too warm to swim laps. The one thing to keep in mind is to check the timings when they're operating in a 50 m / 25 m configuration - and whether that overlaps with classes.

My friends & i did the Escape from Wonderland room. It was pretty tough as we had a group of four that are pretty good at puzzles and we couldn't completely solve and escape. We got so close though! A great way to spend time indoors with friends when it's pouring out.

We were looking to do an escape room in the Vancouver area during our trip and luckily, one of my…read morefriends is in a group chat of escape room enthusiasts and they recommended us to try Pandora's Locks. Apparently there are many bad escape rooms around Vancouver but Pandora's Locks is definitely one of the good ones. We were able to reach the owner through the group chat and he offered us to beta test their new room free of charge, which we gladly accepted. We set up the appointment for the 2 rooms, as booking is generally required for escape rooms. The first room we tried that day was their beta testing room, Where's Becky, which is 80s themed in a girl's bedroom. Even though the room only has 1 room, unlike many of the other escape rooms I tried that have multiple areas, the storyline was definitely really interesting and it slowly unfolded as you solve more puzzles. Since the room was still in beta many of the features were unpolished, but it allowed us the opportunity to provide suggestions which was pretty cool. You can definitely tell the owner is really passionate about creating his escape rooms and he prides himself on creating a rich backstory for the setting. He told us he would never put combination locks in his rooms as he wants his mechanics to be interesting. The second room we tried was their most popular room, the Vault 405. The price was $25/person with tax included and they accept credit card. This room is set in a futuristic post-apocalypse vault and you're job is to get the machines to work. Similar to Where's Becky, there is only 1 room in the entire place but there were a lot of puzzles to solve to get to the ending. Some mechanics were cool and overall the puzzles were logical to solve and would lead to the next puzzle. We had to utilize the hint a few times as this room definitely felt more difficult than Becky's, and their policy is that they offer unlimited hints. And how can you end an escape room experience without taking some pictures? They have a few props for you to hold along with a few signs with funny/whitty phrases. Overall the experience was awesome and it was great chatting with an escape room owner who's passionate at creating the best experience for his customers

I AM THE FIRST YELP REVIEWER for Ninja Tag!…read more Wow, I am impressed no one on YELP has reviewed this entertainment venue. I hope my lengthy review will entice you to try at least one and to let you friends and family members know. Of course, any events like these, please take safety precautions. From the outside, does not clearly say NINJA TAG, it says TAG, but the door says the entrance on the other side that says to use the new entrance around the West side of the building. When you enter you would be greeted by the front desk to fill out a paper waiver. Normally it would be a digital waiver on the screen, but the program isn't working at the time I went. One game is $10.00 and you have 10 minutes to complete the recorded game stats. But you can stay longer to just practice after your scheduled time. I stayed like 2 hours there and continuously played the different stations. They require you to purchase the non-slip socks that you wear when playing. It is an additional $3.00. And unfortunately you cannot wear your own non-slip socks from other events, it has to be the ones they provide. Plus they also get you to purchase a wristband which is another few dollars. Overall it was around $18.00 for this activity. The wristband can be reused, but I forgot to ask if you could reuse the same Ninja Tag socks. They have bins off to the side of the counter to store you clothes and shoes. For safety and security reasons, you can store your valuables like phone/keys/wallets behind their customer service desk. After playing for 2 hours, I found the stations fun and some challenging. Everything inside is very well lit with red and it feels like you are in a dangerous warzone of entertainment. The most fun station would have to be the very first station because you get to run up a sliding hill and the goal is to TAG with you wrist the colors. There are 5 levels of different colors and if I recall correctly, I was able to get to the 3rd color BLUE. Please make sure after you have tagged the color to go down the hill like a slide on your back and arms in the air or close to your chest. Avoid the elbows and knees touching the slippery floor, you can skin your human skin. I did this slide multiple times and skinned my right knee. It feels like a bruise but after a few days, my knee aches to walk. I have been applying Polysporin a medical cream every day to speed heal the skin. It seems to be working, but still very painful.

September 10th I was told I was no longer a member at 30 minute hit by the general manager. October 1st I was still charged, when I reached out to them I was told that my request to cancel my membership did not apply. That's not how the situation was explained to me, nor was I given any notice that "my application to cancel was rejected" prior to being charged, disallowing financial planning on my end. The explanation given to me by the owners is insanely standoffish and just plain unprofessional. I shouldn't have to check in with ownership (whom I've met maybe twice, only once at the actual location), when the staff (specifically your manager) at the gym had told me I am no longer a member. I consider the staff friends who have brought me a long way in my fitness journey and wouldn't expect them to knowingly lead me astray. It's very clear that Stacy and Brett value being "right" over doing right by me and letting the membership go, Dealing with the miscommunication internally.
