Stellar selection of items to choose from with decent pricing and the customer service is great. It was my first time shopping at Crossroads. I went in with my friend, who is also my stylist! There were so many things that I wanted, but had to hold myself back from purchasing too many things. I went back to this location and they were all still super nice. This location is large, has a great selection that has current and vintage styles. A lot of cute fun pieces you won't find anywhere else. The store does NOT smell like old musty clothes which is a HUGE plus and proves that they are constantly getting new items in. It's well worth your time! read more

If you are a curious seller, just know that they do not take heels here, but they do sell them. Also, plan on wasting a lot of time. When I arrived, there were no customers in the store. I looked around, tried on some stuff, and then proceeded to go to the counter to be told that I need to join a wait list. There was almost 10 people ahead of me, yet, nobody there. Three buyers that were busy gossiping made me wait 45 minutes in agony as they slowly called out all the names ahead of me. Let me reiterate, there was no one else in the store. After waiting patiently, I brought in two full boxes of sandals in varying heights, for the worker to claim "heels are not in style right now" (mind you, it is spring in LA) and packing my stuff up before getting through even half of my shoes. Let it be known, There were 4 racks of shoes and half of them were effing heels. If you miss feeling inadequate, and are looking for the high level shame like you're in brandy Melville in 2010, come here for mean girl exposure therapy!!! Update: it's gotten worse. The staff are nice enough but unless it's a big label, they won't even really look at your items to sell. There's very little understanding of what quality clothing looks and feels like, and that is reflected in their stock as well. On top of that, most items in their store have rose in price significantly but the quality bar has dropped. I found many many things with holes or tears, the clothes have a collective generally unwashed smell, and the styles are limited. I used to find both going out clothes and dressy professional clothes, but the professional side is largely gone. Double that for the men's side - pretty much nothing but sneakers for their shoes, no dressier shoes in sight. After several years I thought I would give this place another try to see if it had improved, but unfortunately not. read more

BEWARE OF STAFF TRYING TO STEAL YOUR ITEMS! Came here to sell items and the staff were some of the rudest staff I've ever experienced. They tore through my bags instead of untying them and when I asked if they had bags to replace mine they said no. Meanwhile my clothes were falling out of my bags. Every other place simply untied them like a decent human being. It was unnecessary to do that. I also had an employee tell me she gave me all my items back and I watched her put some high priced items in a bin behind her and tell a coworker I had some cute stuff she wanted to keep for herself. Good thing I was standing there watching her while she went through my stuff or else I would've never known! They said I could come back or walk around and shop while they looked through everything but I preferred to stay close by and good thing I was! When I told her I'm missing items she looked clueless and didn't know what I was referring to. I told her to check the bins behind her and when she did she simply said "oh" when she found an item. I told her I'm still missing several items and to check again for them. She looked again and GUESS WHAT? They were in the bin. It seemed like she was trying to steal some of my high priced items that were brand new with tags. COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL! I also politely asked her to take the censors off of some items because I wanted to take them back and her and her coworker gave me attitude about it. The security guard here was also very rude and said he could put my bags outside the store door thinking he's helping me and I said no thank you I'm putting them in my car which is literally parked right in front of the store and I'll take them. He could've easily offered to help load them in my car like many other stores have done but he didn't. He started to just take my bags and leave them outside after I had said I would handle it. Not bad. Honestly this is still Melrose shopping so take that into context. This is the most I'll do as far as shopping on Melrose because it's still the same vibe: attitude, no smiles from anyone really, cool music while shopping but just the pseudosnob crowd and then parking along with that. Plus prices. The prices are average for Melrose consignment, they seem to pick clothes pretty well. The cheapest pants were all $21 before tax to give you an idea. I just got one pair of Sporty Spice looking throwback cargos. It's worth it if you have TJ Maxx money but lofty fashion ideals. read more

I've been a loyal customer of Crossroads for years, but my recent experience was incredibly disappointing. I came in with 8 large bags of clothes, some items never even worn, hoping to sell them as I urgently needed to clear out due to major life changes. After waiting 40 minutes, even though there were only 4 people ahead of me, I was finally attended to by a staff member--a male with short black hair, possibly with ear piercings, and of Asian descent--who seemed disinterested and dismissive. Despite the sheer volume and quality of items, he turned everything down without giving the clothes any genuine consideration. It felt like he barely looked through the bags and just decided to make us carry everything back without any regard for our time or effort. I could tell it was intentional because I have waited 40 minutes for 4 people with only one bag infront of me and the staff "saw" all my 8 bags in less than ten minutes. I expected more from a place that I've supported so many times in the past. If the staff had respected our time and thoroughly checked the items as they should, this outcome may have been very different. Crossroads should seriously reconsider how they treat their customers--especially those who've been loyal for years. I called over and staff member Britt picked up the phone and stated when things slow down, she will try and look for the jeans. I was so glad to get her phone call at the end of the day that she found them!! She put them aside for me which I will be picking up first thing in the morning. I can only write about this place as someone who bought stuff as opposed to someone selling in consignment. Buddy and I wanted to get some retail therapy in on our recent LA trip and of course decided to hit Melrose Avenue. With vintage and consignment shopping as you know, it's always hit or miss. Some days there's absolutely nothing that catches your eye and on another day you may hit a jackpot and find some old vintage designer piece which actually fits you and suits you. So you never know which is why I say it never hurts to look. I found a black and white checkered denim bolero for like $15 which reminded me of an old Love and Rockets album cover and as I had just seen them at a recent festival, I snapped it up. The place was packed when I was there and everyone was looking the the racks meticulously, I mean with the entertainment industry and the money in LA, it s easy to see why your chances of finding great designer vintage stuff are in your favour. I need to come back to LA to just properly do Melrose Avenue properly, because we just skimmed the surface. read more

Ive been selling clothes at crossroads for many years and been mostly satisfied. It was my first time at this location and I was pretty disappointed. I work in retail so I understand demand, trend, and quality. I don't like to waste their time with garbage and only bring in good stuff that's like new or with tags. Still, I understand if they don't take things - every store is different. I was one of three customers in the store and I did a lap while they looked through my things. They took two items with a retail value of over $250 (one new with tags attached) and gave me $30. When they gave me my bag of rejected items they were all balled up and stuffed into the bag- usually they'll fold it back up how I give it to them but this person had no consideration. I usually do a run to buffalo afterwards to sell what crossroads doesn't take or vise versa but now the clothes are completely wrinkled and I'll have to iron them before that. Also when I asked the cashier for my bag which was five feet away from her she insisted I ask the girl next to her to get it for me? Again the store was not busy at all and I was the only customer at the front- no reason she couldn't have just handed me my bag. It was just really weird and awkward. Anyways I'm sure they all meant well maybe just need some better training! read more

Honestly evertime I sell to you guys your buyer hardly buys anything from me and I believe it's due to racism cause I'm brown and tan. I give my clothes to my Asian boyfriend and they always buy piles of the clothes I have. Today in your store this Asian associate didn't look at my three bags at all. She ended up getting three things and I told her that's pretty low out of all the stuff I had and she told me the store is pretty packed. I've sold here a few times. The payouts are low, and like other reviewers have said, if you have new clothes with tags from good companies, they rarely if ever take them. Instead the racks seem lined with a lot of very worn and old things. I'm not really sure their buyers are doing the best job. I went in today and one man was taking quite a few things, the other fellow went through three people and took nothing (including one sweatshirt from a guy which was AWESOME! And I would totally have bought). I was really hoping I'd get the asian fellow who was actually doing his job and taking a few nice things from people. I mean, I had about two hours of wait time to see who was doing a good job and who just felt like rejecting good clothes for the day (ya know when you get a vibe someone is just having a power trippy day, and wanting to take it out on the world? Yeah that was the vibe). I've also had people reject NWT pieces and then brought them back a week later to have them happily taken. Sometimes a worker just isn't good at their job and if one employee is consistently rejecting good items and not "finding" anything... I'd look at them and get them into some better training. The place is very clean and staff is nice. The pricing of the place good for the items. I had gotten a a Levi crew neck and a vans jacket for 40$ which I find as a good price. Probably got around 30$-40$ off of I were to buy those at full price. They seemed brand new barley worn. I soaked the clothes too and the water was clear indicating they had stripped it or never been worn. In quality condition My friend got a supreme bag for around 90$ brand new. So that's a steal.
