Additionally the coaches run a tight ship while keeping kids on task. During this tough time - covid shutdown- they have offered Zoom practices. My kid has had other Zoom practices and classes and they're always sort of a mess. Rob and his coaches run theirs just like a regular practice - tight! It's clear that a lot of thought and planning go into each one. And, more important she's learning. She loves the practices. She says they almost make her feel like life is normal for a minute. While at a tournament, i heard hussman get asked by a mom 'the team keeps losing. what's going on w the team?' He pointed his finger at the players and listed their faults. It was shameful. Fyi, there's really no speak on college stuff. The college that they hv any connection to is the director's former college. You should call and ask and decide for yourself/kid. In the end, what's important is that they stretch the players. I'm not concerned about falling into line and hv the facade that everything's okay. Sportime volleyball needs to do better.

Grew up coming to this park to play basketball straight after highschool sometimes with friends…read more There's not much change with the basketball courts since then and a lot of the paint has worn off but people still frequent it. It seems the rest of the park's activities have been upgraded though, such as the kids' apparatus, new and fresh pickleball courts, clean tennis courts and such. The structure of the park is organized and great for the large space. On hot days, there's plenty of shade with trees. The public pool here is large and fun! There is bugs often just as fyi and you need to look online to make sure it's open. There's so much to do here with the different activities!!! Cant wait to see more improvements!!

I'm not a fan of B-Ball yet my friend, Coach Dock of Shooting Stars, thought I should handle the clock for the start of his basketball league. Hahahahahahaha! Surely he's joking. He wasn't. Mitchel Gym is tucked away in Garden City and it'll be better if you have your own transportation to get to it. There is ample parking so don't worry. The gym is very spacious. A huge court downstairs with a balcony that has standing room only. The bathrooms are also a good size and they were clean on my visit. If you're using the gym for games/leagues, you'd have to supply your benches, tables etc. The gym is also used for the training of various sports. I had a wonderful time learning and clocking (I don't know if that's even a term) a game at Mitchel Gym. Coach Lee is an excellent trainer and his Purpose program is outstanding. He really cares for the…read morekids and it shows in his teachings. He charges an extremely affordable fee and his schedule is flexible. He has also trained several players from the Half Hollow Hills east varsity program. Coach Lee and then further training and coaching by the staff of Varsity produced 2 Suffolk county championships and this year the overall Long island championship leading them upstate for the state championship. Hard pound dribble to a step back as you let that thing fly...... BAAAAAANNNNGGGGG! But yeah, this court is great as the nets are fully intact and court is freshly paved. The upkeep is unmatched.
