The only one time that I did try out the F45 was last November in Honolulu. This trip I decided to break tradition since there was a F45 very close to my mom's place. I anticipated the guest fee but was pleasantly surprised when Neal informed me that at their studio they provide 1/2 price special so I decided to take two classes! It was all worth it too. The studio is conveniently located with ample public parking, very safe neighborhood, clean and bright. Equipment in great condition, they had towels rolled up at front and available for members/guests. My coach for the two days was Coach Missy and she was so wonderful, welcoming and made me feel so comfortable as a guest. She was great at pushing and providing coaching on posture etc. throughout the workout. Playlist was great as well. Neal made the entire process of working out as a guest so convenient and easy. Coach Missy made the experience at the studio so welcoming and fun. I had a great time and will definitely make it a new thing for me to re-visit and be a guest at F45 Reston Town Center. Highly recommend if you haven't tried F45 - I'm a huge fan and it has been a life changer. Great community to be part of and new friendships as well.

I've been a member at VIDA Fitness for about a year now, and my mom is actually a founding member,…read moreso I've seen the gym from both a long-term and more recent perspective. When I first joined, the experience felt aligned with the "luxury" brand they promote. The classes are still a highlight because they're engaging, well-run, and one of the main reasons I've stayed. I also genuinely like the bar area, and most of the food I've had has been solid. That said, the biggest issue for me, and it's a major one... is cleanliness. It's honestly disturbing to see the same stains on the gym floors day after day. I understand the flooring is a neutral color, but that's not an excuse for it to look visibly dirty all the time. The areas near the windows and equipment are especially bad. At $200/month, I expect a consistently clean facility, and that standard is not being met. The bathrooms are no better. The floors often look stained and unclean, and there are almost never toilet seat covers available in the women's restroom. It feels like basic upkeep is being missed regularly. The cold plunge has also been an issue!! I've gone to use it before and noticed a visible film, which made it completely unusable. That shouldn't happen in a facility marketed as high-end. On top of that, the staff isn't particularly welcoming or attentive, which adds to the overall disconnect between the brand and the actual experience. To be fair, not all of this falls solely on the gym.. many members don't wipe down equipment after using it. But that's exactly why there needs to be stronger oversight and more consistent cleaning protocols in place. During the summer, the rooftop pool gets extremely crowded. The pool itself is nice, but it's clear they need more staffing during peak months. Service becomes very slow, which takes away from what could otherwise be a great amenity. As someone who works in facilities and understands operations, this feels like a management issue. There needs to be more attention to daily maintenance, cleaning standards, and overall quality control. Right now, it simply does not reflect the luxury experience being advertised. I'm willing to give it a little more time to improve, but based on my experience so far, I would rate it a 2.5 out of 5

The Reston VIDA is such a vibe. Overall, it's super clean and usually pretty dead (which is nice)…read more I've taken two heated yoga classes with Stefania and really enjoyed them. She gives a variety of posture options so that you can practice at your level. The music is very regular but given the location and demographic, I get it . Lol Every staff member I've interacted with has been pretty nice. They offer courtesy locks at the front desk if you forget yours. They also offer validation, but if you move too quickly past the front desk, you probably won't notice the little scanner that allows you to just scan your thing. Unfortunately, I paid for parking my first time here because I didn't know and nobody told me, but it's all good. I will say, this location is very different from all other Vida locations I have been to. This one definitely gives a more luxurious feel and can honestly be treated quite a bit like a spa. My main complaints are as follows: the actual restroom section of the locker rooms need work. There is absolutely no reason that every time I have been there, I struggle to find a stall with toilet seat covers. Usually, there is only one stall that is stocked with toilet seat covers. And several of the other stalls are usually full of unflushed feces and urine. Also, I do not know what the small towel situation is here. The first time I came, they had literally no towels. I even asked the front desk and they informed me that they did not have any at that time. Very weird because locations like the one on U St. always have a ton. The next time I came, their towel offerings looked very sad. They had like two or three in each little shelf section of the towel shelf. Again, not what I'm used to from Vida. Important notes: -the steam room and sauna are both co-ed. You've been warned. I was a little shocked the first time I went in there and saw that it was full of men. Some of them were literally just wrapped in a towel from the waist down. No thank you. -they have an ice bath, which is amazing. I enjoy my time in there. You are supposed to make reservations through the app. However, I have been walked in on multiple times despite having the door closed while being there. I also see people just walk in randomly to use it and when I check the app, there are still reservations for that timeslot, so it seems like people just use it whenever they want. I do not like that. Overall, it's a really nice location. You can tell it's newer and they are still working out some kinks. But please get some toilet seat covers.

To be honest, I think they did better job than any other birthday places in the area... and here is why: 1. Good communication - Throughout the planning process, Joye has been very responsive and patient in answering all our questions. 2. Passion - I can see that they have really put efforts into making the birthday party an memorable event. We told them that our son likes Harry Potter. Not only did they come up with HP games and decorations, but also they dressed up as well. All coaches had high energy level and definitely showed their love for the sport when they demonstrated. 3. Keeping the kids entertained - Mike, Preston and David did a great job to keep the kids entertained. No doubt, with 25 kids, it was quite a challenge. However, they split the kids into teams (houses like in HP) so that they could be attentive to every single kid. They also encouraged kids to take on new challenges which was excellent. 4. Venue - the best of all, we got the whole venue by ourselves, which is hard to do with other birthday places. All of us had a blast at the party, even it was snowing bad outside. The kids had so much fun that they all stayed for the whole 2 hours. Thank you again, Joye, Mike, Preston, and David, for making my son's birthday very special and awesome. We highly recommend NoVA Ninja. (PS: It was so good that some of our friends signed their kids up for classes at the party).

For CrossFit specifically, the energy is great, and you get to learn how to do the movements correctly, but at times (mainly when I first started), I've felt a bit judged and lost. It really depends on the instructor and the time you go. Hyrox, on the other hand, is great since you're usually in groups, which makes it feel more structured and supportive. All of the peak instructors I've had have been really friendly and motivating! The owner is also very welcoming and encourages bringing friends, offering a free trial class so you can see if it's a good fit. *Workouts: Classes usually have about 10-25 people, and you can go at your own pace. I typically go 4-6 times a week, switching up which classes I take. When I first started, the workouts felt tough, but over time, they've become much more manageable (results, yay!). Personally, I'm one of the most unmotivated people when working out alone, and they do a great job of encouraging you to show up at least once a week. The classes are a mix of bodyweight exercises, weights, and cardio, so there's always variety. *Pricing: I pay $159 a month for unlimited classes (~$6.65 a class if you go 6 days a week), which also includes 24/7 access and amenities like massage chairs and saunas. When I first started, I was on the $99 plan for two classes a week, which is a good option if you're not ready to commit fully. *Overall Thoughts: Halo Fitness is a great option for anyone looking for that little extra push. If you're new to CrossFit and have the time, I'd HIGHLY recommend going a bit early and asking questions so you don't injure yourself and don't feel so lost walking around, wondering what you need for the workout and which stations aren't taken.
