I have dropped into a lot of CrossFit gyms while traveling and this gym was by far the most welcoming and accommodating in terms of the owner and coaches communication with me! The coaching staff is friendly and focused on functional fitness and nutrition (yes they have Oly but its not just about bulk, cardio, flexibility and overall health are a focus). They also have several members that are an extension of staff for other needs such as physical therapy and nutrition.

Driving out to Mesa this evening to take my son to the Picklr, I was thinking that I really needed…read moresome kind of workout... and that's when I remembered seeing this Burn Boot Camp location right across the street from where my son had to be! I looked it up and saw that there is a trial class free and was able to sign up and get there within the hour. Huge thanks to Yvette who taught the class and Crystal who helped me get my waiver signed and gave me the lay of the land before and after the class. I've been to my fair share of gym classes and was really impressed with how spacious and clean this facility is. Also, Yvette was amazing with names and motivation and led us all through a thorough warm-up and cool down. The other women in class were welcoming and there were high fives given multiple times. I did modify a few exercises and was happy that this was not frowned upon. It's also worth noting that there were people of all fitness levels in class and that it was just a really supportive environment all around. As much as I hate burpees, I actually felt great doing them as a finisher at the end of class today. Needless to say, I got a great workout and I do hope to visit again soon.

These are people with careers, as they are professionals. There are high school, university, and even trade school students, so there's a little bit of everyone here. Everyone does their best and encourages everyone at whatever fitness level, so everyone is welcome. I know I feel welcomed when I first joined :) The only improvement I can say is because this box is so strong in community, a little less chatter in the warm-up and focus on the workout. I am guilty of that too, so I promise I'll do better. Also, thank you for not dropping the "Crossfit," out of the name because of a few bad apples in Crossfit headquarters. They offer 3 free sessions, but I only needed needed one to convince myself that full body EMS is very beneficial to someone like me! I ended up purchasing an Ohm at home suit, which is very easy to operate, via the Ohm fitness at home app. I have a lot of muscle atrophy from my stroke and EMS really gets the blood flowing to these muscles. It's been about 2 months of workouts and there are signs of progress. I highly recommend Ohm Fitness to Seniors and especially those that have disabilities. You are not lifting heavy weight , but you do have to do the work. You could do almost nothing, but your improvements will take longer. If you choose the Red Mountain location, you will find a well organized site, staffed with very helpful and friendly people, along with knowledgeable instructors.
