One of the best gyms I have ever been a member of! Coaches are great and friendly atmosphere

Love this place. Today is my 1 year anniversary at Invasion and the transformation is significant. I am not a body builder by any mean. I was unable to do a single pull-up when I started. Today I can do 10 (on a good day :) ), but I did absolutely got in so much better shape. The coaches are great, very personable, knowledgeable and helpful. the classes are not too big and are always different (which makes it so much more interesting than a gym). I was terrified to start, but once you get over it and go for it, you will be glad you did, I know I am... They will scale it for you depending on your abilities. I still don't work on the max recommended weight, but who cares? I got so much better and I work with the coaches to match the perfect weight and workouts for me. Think about it this way, you come for an hour, work out like crazy and you leave. one hour, no more... which I think is the best. They have classes all day, until late at night, which differentiates them from all the other cross fits in the area and was why I started at Invasion and not the other places. Only later I understood how great the coaches and the place is. Oh, and they teach you how to eat better, which contributes to your workout abilities and your weight. The only "bad" thing is, I have to spend all this money on new clothes because of all the weight I lost... Try it, it will change the way you think about working out... read more

The workout space is phenomenal (I wish it was bigger sometimes), the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, the coaches are talented and experienced, and are focused on helping each and every member, whether you're a seasoned athlete or a newbie like I was coming in. I've always felt that safety was a priority and never compromised. The community feel and an enthusiasm to this place is second to none. I love the fact there is a 9pm class! This is one of the best CrossFit boxes I've ever been to. Great service. Great programming. Great athletes. Great facility. I could keep going on and on. Not much more I can add that the other reviews haven't already said. Crossfit Invasion really did change my life, I was at a point in my life that I needed to correct my lifestyle. I was going to a regular gym but results were not really there, probably because I wasn't pushing myself hard enough. I joined on a recommendation of a friend and knew from my first evaluation workout that this is what I needed. The coaches are all top notch and really stress the form and quality of each movement. I have been a member at CF Invasion for two years after various stints at other Crossfit locations on Long Island. My experience at Invasion has been the best out of all the other fitness programs I've tried! The coaches are experts (owner Adam White is one of only a few CF level 3 certified coaches in Ny!) and the members in each of the classes create a supportive and motivating environment. Every workout is predetermined (gone are the days of showing up at a gym with no idea what to do and leaving in 15 minutes) but completely scalable to meet your individual fitness needs. I'd equate the programming and coaching at Invasion to having a group personal training session; your coach is always paying attention to you and the class size caps at 12. Don't worry about whether or not your "fit" enough to begin a Crossfit workout- just walk through the door! read more

One of the smartest decisions I have ever made was to join Crossfit Invasion. All the myths of "you get hurt at crossfit" " Crossfit is for the young", "Crossfitters are a cult", are so not true at Invasion I have never been injured, i am 50 plus and I have made great friends Adam, the owner stresses form and scales all workouts to peoples ability. I've been doing Crossfit on and off for about 6yrs. I started coming to Invasion a little over a year ago, and have definitely found a permanent "home". My strength, endurance, and speed have increased tremendously since I've been training here. I am now able to do ring muscle ups and string numerous double unders together. It's definitely due to the great coaching. There is also a great community here. Always a friendly face when you walk in. Let's not forget about their kids program. I have been going to Crossfit Invasion for 6 months and I couldn't imagine going anywhere else. The trainers are second to none. Whether you're a novice or veteran crossfitter they will tailor to your needs. Crossfit Invasion is the way to go if you're looking to crush your fitness goals. Each class is 1 hour long and the hours are extremely flexible, starting as early as 6am and going as late as 9pm. They will implement different workouts everyday that will keep you engaged as opposed to doing the routine workouts you do at the gym. This gym is probably one of the best fitness places on Long Island if not the best. I returned 3 months after a full hip replacement and the exercises are all modified to allow me to get a versitile workout without injury. The instructors are extremely knowledgeable classes kept to max 12 members and almost all get semi private instruction by their coaches. Members are all ages to kids, young adults to seniors. The facility is clean, the hours are made for all schedules. The workouts change daily to allow for a full body fitness regimen - I highly recommend anyone wanting to make a healthy lifestyle change to visit this gym and start today. read more

I have never been an athletic type, and have struggled with my weight for as long as I remember. I have tried different programs over the years, from karate, boot camp, gym memberships, and even personal training, and while each would provide results, they never engaged me enough to "stick to it". I would last perhaps a month or so (at best) before my interest and dedication would wane, I would start cancelling sessions, and eventually disappear into the crowd and stop going all together. Any weight loss or muscle gain would quickly evaporate almost as quickly as my attention span and instead of taking responsibility for my dedication, just excused it as "I'm just not an athletic person". I had been doing Crossfit for over a year when I came to Invasion because they offered classes my other box did not, like Endurance, Core Conditioning, Rowing, etc... I was welcomed in by both the coaches and the members who were working out. I was immediately made to feel welcome, and the way they all encouraged me made me feel as if I had been there for years. The coaches were not only motivating, but I found them to be very knowledgeable about techniques and form. They showed me how to stretch and improve my flexibility and range of motion. They showed me how to modify and scale workouts so I could still do difficult workouts while maintaining proper form. Although I was still a member at the other box, any gains and improvements I was making was due to the instructions and techniques I was learning at Crossfit Invasion. Soon it became obvious that Crossfit Invasion was where I belonged, and I switched to full time membership with them, and eventually enrolled my entire family with them as well. Adam White is the owner of Invasion. His knowledge of movements, techniques, mobility/flexibility, physiology, kinesiology, and nutrition (just to name a few things) are impressive. He has, what I call, a "bag of tricks" to help anything you may have a question with. Adam will watch you do a movement and immediately be able to provide an analysis of where you may need guidance, but also specific techniques to help improve the issue almost immediately. I have been on the receiving end of his instruction many times, and the benefits and gains, in many cases, are immediate, which is very motivating and exciting. He truly cares about his members and their overall fitness and conditioning. He watches everyone like a hawk, which is a good thing. It is evident that Adam expects the same commitment from his team as well. The administrative staff (Hi AnneMarie!!!) is phenomenal at helping get you into the swing of things in an encouraging, yet non-pushy way. They are outstanding and helpful beyond measure! The entire coaching staff at Crossfit Invasion is focused on the members, assuring that proper form and technique are taught and established. Weights/reps are not increased until the form is perfect. If your form is not spot on, you will not get the gains you are capable of, but worse yet, you are opening yourself up to injury. Why set a PR for a lift or workout, when afterwards you are sidelined with an injury for a few weeks or more? Unfortunately, this is all too prevalent in Crossfit, is a big reason for the bad press, but is something Crossfit Invasion actively addresses, absolutely enforces, and their members benefit from in both better fitness and improved safety. At Crossfit Invasion, It's not about how much you do, it's about how you do it. A review of Invasion would not be complete without a shout out to the members there. They are the most welcoming, caring, encouraging, supporting, and outgoing people you will meet. When you have a great coach AND a class full of members who support and encourage each other like they do at Invasion, it becomes more than just a workout. It is a social experience that has you walk away feeling not only great about your workout, but really fortunate that you had the opportunity to spend time with such truly special people. It is one of the few activities where I look forward to the social interaction as much as I look forward to the class itself, and a big reason I have stayed with it for over two years now. Not all Crossfit boxes are alike, believe me, I know. Pick carefully, visit the box, watch a workout, interact with people. Ask questions! I can't say enough great things about Crossfit invasion. Before I started at invasion about a year and a half ago, I was stuck in the same old routine of going to the gym and doing more talking then actual working out. I finally got enough courage to go into invasion and give it a try. It was one of the best decisions I've ever made. I was immediately hooked. The coaches are extremely knowledgeable and motivating. Everyone at the box was very friendly and supportive. Since joining Crossfit invasion I have lost 35 pounds and have gotten stronger and better in all aspects of fitness. I am coming up on my 1 year anniversary at Crossfit Invasion. I've belonged to other Crossfit gyms and I would recommend this one over the others that I have tried. First of all the place is IMMACULATE- which is a huge thing for me, The classes are in a group setting, yet limited to 12 people which is great because it ensures the classes are run safely as well as allowing the coaches to pay attention/monitor/and teach all of the members. The owner, Adam, in my opinion, is the best around. His extensive knowledge about Crossfit, health and the body in general is truly remarkable. I have found everyone that I have met, the members as well as the coaches, have been welcoming and encouraging no matter what level of fitness you're at.
