The place is a little run down, beat up, and gritty, just like the gyms I trained at back in the 80s. If you're looking for shiny new equipment and spa vibes, this isn't for you. But if you're serious about training, welcome home. You won't find Planet Fitness types here -- this is a place for hardcore bodybuilders, strength athletes, and a few tough strength ladies who know their way around the iron. Over the decades, they've built up an incredible collection of equipment, giving you multiple ways to hit every muscle from every angle. The cost is very reasonable, the staff is friendly, and the best part? The members feel like family. Whether it's offering training tips, sharing a laugh, or giving you a spot when you're pushing your limits, everyone has your back. If you're not faint of heart and want a gym with soul, history, and community -- join Ultimate Gym.

Huge TFW room in the back that is available for an additional fee in the afternoon. Never crowded but the group that is there is always pleasant and nice. Everybody is open to questions and willing to help. Lots of dumbbells if that's more your speed and they go up to 100 pounds. Membership fee is fair and they offer a day pass for $15.

Place needs better maintenance as bathrooms are always wreaking of urine especially the kids family bathroom. Why do we have a children's bathroom with no proper way for children to reach the sink located inside the toilet? Staff at the salon also has a bad attitude. For such a high end gym, customer service is lacking 100%.

We pay nearly $900 a month for our memberships and our three kids' swim classes, so we've always expected -- and usually received -- respectful treatment. This past Sunday, my kids were running late for their swim class. When they arrived, my wife rushed them inside so they wouldn't miss more time, planning to return immediately to the front desk to scan in. We were even planning on enrolling our youngest daughter to swim class that day as well. My wife also had our Nanny with us as helper who was also considering enrolling her own daughter in the gym and its programs, so she joined us to see how everything worked. Unfortunately, what she witnessed ended up convincing her not to sign up at all. At the front desk, the receptionist, Sharon, stopped my wife very abruptly and insisted she scan in first -- despite her clearly explaining that the kids were late and she would come right back. She said "I don't care" and even made her pull all kids out of their class and bring them back to the front desk just to scan in. When she explained that our family has been a member for 8 years and fully intended to follow the process, she responded with, "If you've been coming here this long, you should know how to follow the rules," followed by, "Maybe you should arrive on time next time." Our Nanny was shocked and even asked us why we pay so much here just to be treated this way. My wife asked to speak with a manager -- something we've never done anywhere -- and Cheryl, the manager, came out. Unfortunately, she immediately sided with Sharon and made them feel unwelcome rather than heard. The entire interaction left them feeling disrespected and uncomfortable, and it genuinely made my wife question whether they were being treated differently for racially motivated reasons that should never play a role in customer service. In eight years, we have never had an issue with anyone at this club, but this was our first time interacting with these two staff members, and the experience was deeply disappointing for both me and my family. Sadly, Lifetime has lost a long-term customer -- and a potential new one.

So simple. Come in and in 30 minutes you'll leave with a total body workout. 30 minutes seemed…read moreshort at first, but after your first session you realize working hard for 30 min is just as effective as your usual 60 min gym routine. Plus, you can come whenever and use their cardio equipment. Hit the treadmill for 15min before/after your workout... there's your 60 min! The spot itself isn't large, but they have more than enough equipment to work every muscle and to keep things interesting; Kettle bells, free weighs, benches, cardio machines, rowers, battle ropes, ladder climber thingie, rope puller thingie... you get the point. It's all here. The trainers don't overwork you, they find your comfort level and then take you from there. I've had two different trainers and both are really friendly, even when you want to run out of the gym and buy a cheeseburger from anyone willing to sell it to you. Bonus points for eucalyptus towels and a water machine. You literally don't have to bring anything but yourself here. There are great deals to be found on the discount websites, but I would suggest calling up and asking about their deals instead. Most of the time they will honor whatever coupon is out there and you don't have to go through a third party middle man. Personal training... do it!

The space is the perfect size for training someone like me, who is intimidated by large gyms and "meatheads" lol. The trainers are knowledgable and don't pressure you, but they will definitely push you to work out in the best way possible. The staff is SUPER nice and the place really feels like a community, they know you by name and always greet you with a smile. The prices for the training packages can't be beat - you pay for the trainer, but you can come in and use the cardio equipment any day of the week as well! So it basically becomes your personal gym as well. I have recommended this place to so many friends and family. If you're looking to invest in your health, this is the place to do it!

I have been a member of 2 other local gyms, could not remain a consistent member. December 2025 my wife convinced me to stop-over at Lifetime. Nick Sanders took us on a tour, explained the facilities, costs, etc. I am overwhelmed by the place & concerned I won't fit-in nor learn he equipment. Nick spoke extensively with me about how common this emotion is for both women & men! He counseled me to take 1 step at a time and understand this was an important lifestyle decision. She is currently a high school senior balancing final exams, end-of-year sports commitments, concerts, and other school obligations she has committed to through graduation. Throughout communication with the manager she would be reporting to, she provided the days and times she was available based on her school schedule and activities. However, no specific onboarding or training dates were clearly communicated upfront, such as mandatory dates for the team. After a misunderstanding regarding "next week" versus the week after Memorial Day -- when she actually has days off from school -- she received a message stating that more availability was expected from her. Shortly after, he informed her that he would have to let her go because of this. What was also concerning was the expectation of ongoing text communication during the school day. In New York, students are not permitted to be using their phones during school hours, yet she felt pressured to respond. Students and parents should be aware of this lack of communication and understanding when dealing with high school applicants. Clear onboarding expectations and schedules should be communicated upfront, especially when hiring students who are still actively in school. A little professionalism and respect for academics would have gone a long way here.

After seeing how nasty it is by the entrance to the sauna/steam room you instantly know the inside won't be any better, and is the reason why you never see anyone use it. You can tell by the feel of the water and the muggy filter to it that the water isn't that clean. You can tell they just clean the pool once a day, with hair and weird liquids found all over the pool siding constantly. To sum it all up, I'm coming from planet fitness where cleanliness isn't a big priority and you get used to it, but wow this gym makes your stomach turn sometimes. I made the plunge and joined Equinox a few weeks ago. After coming here for a few Yelp Events, and…read morebeing that it's close to home, it made my decision an easy one. Although pricey, it's worth it! Let's start off with the amazing customer service I've received. I had the pleasure of meeting Brett. He is a Membership Advisor. He messaged me to see how I was doing and if I had any questions. My very first day as a member he showed me around the the gym from top to bottom, corner to corner. He even offered to take a class with me if I didn't want to take one alone. He is super friendly and funny. He continues to say hello to me BY NAME every time he sees me at the gym. That's amazing that he remembers my name considering how many people he sees and interacts with at the gym every day. Now Christopher (I believe that's his name) works at the shop at the gym where there's clothes, gym bags, and other accessories. When you become a member you get 20% off your first purchase at the shop. So...I took advantage of that! Christopher was patient with me as I looked around the shop. So many choices! Some of their brands run big...so I was happy that I was able to buy a smaller size than I normally would. Christoper helped me pick out some things and even showed me a super comfy sweatshirt. It's a men's sweatshirt...but it's the most comfortable sweatshirt I've ever worn. Comfy and warm! Brian, the manger is also super nice! I had a long conversation with him on my first day at the gym. It was so nice that he took the time out of his day to speak with me. He also greets me by name every time he sees me at the gym. As a new member you get a complimentary Pilates session. I took mine with Jacqueline. The Pilates session is in the studio and it's just you and the trainer. Jacqueline was very patient with me as I've never done Pilates before. She showed me how to use the machines. She also taught me that Pilates isn't just body movements...but it's about your mind as well. Which is very true. We even laughed! Who laughs when working out? That's what I thought. You also get a complimentary personal training session as a new member. I had the pleasure of meeting Tracy. She is wonderful! She understood me and my goals. She was patient and answered my questions. We also laughed a little. Again, who laughs when on an 10% incline and 3.5 speed on a treadmill?? That's what I thought! I felt so welcomed as a new member! Besides the "Welcome" email and "Welcome Packet" I received, I received a hand written welcome card in the mail, and another welcome card in the mail. I can truly tell the Equinox cares about their members. On to the gym... SO many machines for cardio and strength training! I've never had to wait for a machine. One of the things I like about the machines is that they have internet. I've enjoyed watching YouTube videos to get me through my workouts. You can even access Facebook, Google...and a ton of other things. You can sync LoseIt and other apps if you use apps to calorie count or to keep track of your food intake. There's also WiFi at the gym...so you can bring your iPad or other device and watch Netflix as you work out! I am guilty of this! :o) If you aren't sure how to use a strength training machine, don't be scared. During my tour of the gym, Brett mentioned there is always staff on the floor that will show you how to use them! Don't be shy...ask them! Locker rooms... I can't speak for the men's locker room, but the woman's locker room as everything you can think of. Hair dryers, straighteners, razors, tampons, mouth wash, hair gel, shaving cream, shower caps...etc. There's also a filtered water filling station and a digital scale. Everything you can ask for! Now the showers are wonderful. Kiehl's shower products are like a dream. They smell so yummy, and have me feeling refreshed. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and face wash. The showers are nice and hot! AND... eucalyptus towels!!! Smell so nice, especially after a sweaty workout! What are you waiting for?? GO workout at Equinox!

Machines are old, otherwise the gym is very clean and the people are very nice and helpfulread more
