I dropped in for a Saturday class and was impressed with culture and the workout. Coach Mike was super friendly and knowledgable and everyone I met was super nice as well. Loved that my older kids could stay in their waiting room and play while I worked out. We stayed and let the kids do the kids class. They loved it! Came back Sunday for another class for them. I have been here two times, its small but dont let that fool you. The trainers and the work outs are intense. Will have your heart pumping and body sweating! This box has been a huge stabilizer of community and fitness. I came here in July 2018 without ever doing a CrossFit WOD with a little experience with Olympic lifting. I recently came back to CrossFit Flood after a little absence over a year and a half maybe. Coach Mike is awesome; he's also the owner. We have new coaches that are awesome - they encourage me and push me to get the best out of my workouts. I had gained a few pounds, and have been back for a month and have lost weight already. The box has also gone thru renovations; we have new equipment and a larger space - 5,000 square feet. It's not only a CrossFit but a strong community of individuals there for many reasons. CrossFit Flood is definitely worth every penny. You might think you're paying a lot, but not really, the benefits of being fit and happy have no price. This is by far the best Crossfit gym I've ever been a part of. The owner Mike is awesome, helpful, friendly, and has great programming so that you see and feel the difference pretty quickly after starting. My husband alone has lost 60 lbs since starting here last year and I'm gradually getting back in shape after having had a baby. The members are all very friendly and welcoming as well and will cheer you on regardless of your fitness level or how long you've been going there. Not to mention the gym has doubled in size since last year and there is so much room now! First time here today! Wow, what a gym. I'm used to other gyms but this one is specifically for CrossFit training. I am new on the journey and will continue to come here to get the results I've been looking for. After losing almost 80lbs. I'm not comfortable enough in my own skin to push further. Owner/ Coach Mike gave me a tour. Gave me knowledge and helped me feel at home here. I will be back in the next few weeks for the start of the New You Challenge (6 week program). 8 months ago in December 2011 I made the decision to check out what this CrossFit hype was all about. I was working out at a local gym and attending a boot camp, but I did not see much change in myself and the motivation just wasn't there. When I looked into CrossFit I remember thinking... this shit looks way too hard, there is no way I can do that. But I told myself I would give it a try and I am glad I did. CrossFit Flood has changed my life, and then shit that looked way to hard, now makes me feel like a badass when I complete a wod. When I joined CrossFit Flood I had some weight I wanted to lose, some muscle I wanted to build, and some confidence I needed to find in myself. I am happy to say after 8 months I am not only 35 pounds lighter, but I have gained muscle in places I never knew I could and I have found that confidence that I was searching for. One of the greatest things about CrossFit is realizing that two weeks ago your body couldn't do what it just did! Every day I step into the CrossFit Flood gym I feel empowered to be better than I was yesterday. . I found my motivation and a new passion and it has become an obsession. Sometimes all we need is an extra push, and Brian and Mike are always there to make sure we are reaching our potential. They push us beyond our physical and mental comfort zones to show us what we are truly capable of. They have been phenomenal in their efforts to make us better everyday. I've been coming here for about 2.5 - 3 years now. The coaches are great, the programming is excellent, and the community is very close. CrossFit Flood will have many community events throughout the year such as the summer competition day within the gym called "Flood, Sweat, and Beers", the annual Christmas party, and more. These events help the community grow even closer and help members meet each other who otherwise would never have met. The members who usually go to the 4pm class will get to meet members they may not have met because they go to the 6:30am class. No one has ever been judgmental against me. Quite the opposite in fact, this gym is nothing but encouraging. I once finished a workout that took me much longer than everyone else, and everyone stuck around and encouraged me until I finished. Coming from a 24 Hour Fitness, the prices seemed pretty high at first, but compared to other CrossFit gyms out there, the prices are actually very reasonable. If you also look at everything you get, (community, programming, coaching, doing workouts you never would do on your own, not skipping leg day, etc.) CrossFit all of a sudden becomes a better value than a traditional gym membership. This place is so great!! Today was my first day of the free week and I tried out a group session with Coach Mike. He is so very helpful and detail-oriented-- it made this noob cross fitter feel so much more at ease and comfortable. I've had previous fitness experience, but felt that this was what I needed to boost my energy and take my anxiety/ frustrations, etc etc etc. out and boy it succeeded. Ok, it's about time I wrote a quick review for this place. This cf box still has the feel of cf gyms from 6+ years ago. You don't have the typical cf weirdos here...thank God! You also don't have an oversized area filled with stuff that's never used, just to give off the appearance that it's legit. What you do have is a close knit group of trainers and members that make for a great experience. Lots of support and knowledge floating around here. Their pricing is more in line with reality than other boxes in the area. But here's their best attribute, in my opinion. The programming! It is done logically. It makes sense. It's exactly what I expect from a cf gym and that is, overall fitness. This gym deserves the positive reviews it's receiving. Keep up the good work! read more

This gym is really great, I would definitely recommend giving it a try! I came here for a couple months while in SD. The coaches are all very friendly and knowledgeable and the other members are very welcoming. I hadn't done crossfit before, but the coaches did a great job of explaining things and modifying workouts when necessary. There was good variation in the workouts and I always left feeling tired. Pricing was also very reasonable. I would return if I was back in SD again! read more

Super awesome Crossfit gym in the Kearny Mesa area. I checked out a morning class. The coach was very welcoming and helpful in teaching the workouts. Great vibes. Totally knowledgeable and friendly coach. Really cool people in the gym too!The gym is a bit hidden in the back area of the warehouse area but it's a nice spot once you find it! Excellent kids CrossFit classes on the weekends! Mike is patient and makes the class fun for the kids. My kids are sweaty and happy when they leave class. Both of my kids are not interested in sports so I'm happy that they found a physical activity they love. I think Mike is a big reason why my kids are enjoying their introduction to CrossFit. He's a great teacher! Does a good job explaining movements, and I'm impressed at how well he keeps the kids interest and focus! read more

This Crossfit Gym is amazing! I have been going here for about a year and a half now and I continue to love this place more everyday. When I first started I had never done Crossfit before and was a little bit overweight and in the worst shape of my life. Within six months I had lost 25 pounds and lived a much more active lifestyle. After some convincing I talked my wife into going and now she goes to the gym more than I do! My Children have even started going under the great Coaching of the Co-owner Mike. The Coaches and owners are very good people who really stress the importance of proper form over how much weight you can lift. Over time you will be doing more than you ever though possible pushing yourself to reach the next level. My favorite part of this gym is the sense of community and great friendships. With lots of events(Flood, Sweat, Beers) it is easy to feel part of a team every time you go. It doesn't matter if you are a Beast in the gym or have never lifted anything in your life I have never felt judged or put down here. Mike and Brian are great guys who are running a fantastic gym. I am from Boston and I regularly come to San Diego to visit my sister. I dropped in at CF Flood for the first time about 2 years ago and Brian welcomed me in open arms. I came back yesterday (Feb 2015) and Mike greeted me as if I was a regular and made me feel right at home. I was lucky enough to be in town for the first CrossFit Open workout (15.1) and Mike invited me to join in the group workout, where I was able to be judged and have my score submitted. I've been to a number of boxes around the US and in Europe during my travels and I have to say that Flood is the friendliest and most professional of all the boxes I've dropped in on. I'd highly recommend joining CF Flood and being part of the fantastic workouts and great community Mike and Brian have put together.
