I was so out of shape after a year of inactivity due to covid and a knee injury that I researched and interviewed different gyms and personalized training programs. The big group classes and cross fit type gyms intimidated me since I've never really done any type of weight training. When I met Sean he was so kind and patient and really pushed me. My first fitness evaluation I could barely do a push up! I started out with the 3 month program 3x a week and really got stronger and saw great results. Went in today to do the RMR & hydrostatic dunk test with Sean P. It was a very educational and fun experience. My husband suggested we do it since I was tired of the doctor's office telling me my BMI (which is awfully flawed) was high and that I need to exercise more! Indeed the results from the tests confirmed that I am in the healthy body fat % range for my age, weight, and height. After our tests, Sean went over all the results and what they meant with us. I wanted to get a quantifiable assessment of how to tackle my fitness goals. Sean's program does exactly that and more. From the get-go, Sean's Hydrostatic Body Composition test allows you to identify lean body mass & fat body mass, and determined a fitness and nutritional program so you can achieve the goals you are looking for by the end of the program. Sean put me on a 3-days-a-week training routine in 5am sessions. I am not really a morning person, but going in that early really made me better prepared for the rest of the day. So much so that now I've made it a habit to get up early and start my days with more energy, motivation and drive. Sean also pushed me to do progressive lifting and corrected me when I was doing a certain exercise the wrong way. He is attentive, focused, fun to work out with, and great to talk to as a person. Cant tell you how pleased I am with my RMR testing. Sean the owner made me feel extremely comfortable, explained each step of the test and was extremely knowledgeable about the test in general. It was a very comfortable test where I simply had to calmly breathe into a tube for about 12-22 min max while wearing a heart-rate monitor. As the test finished Sean gave me a detailed explanation of my results and I was very happy to find out I'm not "over working out" i do not have any alarming numbers and my RMR is about 3 % lower than my theoretical so overall very pleased and can wait to come back and check again to make sure i'm keeping safe ! As a figure bodybuilder on prep i push my metabolism hard and im happy to say i found a great marker of health along with a critical number to determine where to set my TDEE as i try to cut or add mass! I went to The Fit Lab for hydrostatic bodyfat, BMR, and VO2 Max readings. On those services I have the following to say: Extremely accurate (as long as you follow instructions properly), and very friendly staff. I only interacted with Shaun for my testing, however he was professional, courteous, and surprisingly intuitive. Very understanding of goals and life situation as well, and was able to even help out with my diet plan. The service overall is pricey, yes, but no more so than other facilities and, given the equipment required for accurate testing, understandable. I contact Sean at the fit lab after a Google search of Hydrostatic body composition analysts. After reading a few different pages I sent Sean a email which he replied to at 8:30pm and after a few questions by 9pm I had a appointment set up for the next day. The fit lab is by far the best personal training gym I have ever been to. Sean immediately was able to notice my imbalances and my strengths. My imbalances were from so many years of paddling . My performance in paddling has improved along with less injury!! I am 45 years old and I feel stronger today then ever. I wanted to gain some weight, but I didn't realize not all weight is equal. I read about different forms of body fat testing and how hydrostatic dunk testing is considered the gold standard. I though it was going to be difficult because I had to be underwater but the team at the fit lab made the experience easy. This place was exactly what I needed to get my life back on track and get a healthy life style going. I found Sean and after meeting him and another trainer, Brandon, they both helped me establish goals and by the end of my 3 month tour with them, my every goal was achieved. I actually got more out of being with these guys than I initially expected. I spent 3 months with the both of them. They not only built me up physically, but mentally. They get you enjoying working out, get you smiling everything, they motivate you to push harder, they encourage you to do better. They also set you up to continue living such a lifestyle even after moving on. They take time out of their day to ask how your doing even if their not on the job if something does come up or happen, they are understanding. They're both very knowledgeable and will the time to explain things you don't understand and will make recommendations based on how you can improve. Also, nutrition. I had no idea how to properly eat to achieve my goals. They not only helped that on track but they also made an entire meal plan for me; with recipes, a grocery list, and directions on how to make certain healthy mixtures. Great gym and personal training. Initially Sean and now Brandon have developed a training plan helping me to recover from surgery, working on a combination of strengthening and conditioning. In 4 months I have lost 25lbs of post surgery weight going from 25% body fat to 10%.
