If you are in search of a personal trainer, please look no further. Chris is the absolute best at what he does and is a game-changer! Where was I at as a first time client? I was in the worst shape of my life. Once COVID hit and the gyms closed, I was in a bad place mentally and physically. I stopped working out and it lasted for 1.5 years. I had low energy, mental fog, and was eating nothing but fast food since I was pretty depressed about my appearance. My confidence was completely shot and none of my shirts fit me. Horrible! I needed to change and seeked professional help. I came across Chris Keith and reached out to him to see if he was willing to help me! He responded and we did an initial consultation. After consulting with Chris, I knew he was the right person for the job. He asked me what my goals were and tailored a program for my body type and was with me every step of the way. He held me accountable and most importantly was all-in with obtaining my goals. He even taught me the importance of nutrition and coached me through how to eat healthier. After my program with Chris I can honestly say I am in a completely better place now! I am in tremendous shape, confidence is through the roof, energy is at its peak and I am clicking on all cylinders at work! Chris is the best at what he does and in my opinion the best that money can buy! He genuinely wants to see you win and makes the entire process fun and enjoyable. I have learned much more than just strength training and cardio. He is a master at his craft and I suggest anyone wanting to make a healthy lifestyle change, please reach out to Chris. You will not be disappointed. Thanks Chris! You are the man!!! read more

My now-husband and I started working with Chris about 7 months before our wedding. It was obvious off the bat that Chris has extensive knowledge not only on training, but a thorough understanding of how the body works as well as nutrition. Since we started, we had noticeably more energy, better sleep, and even some baby abs coming out of hiding. The varied routines kept us engaged and motivated, it was never a one-size fits all model. Each session is challenging and yet somehow fun, and you always come away having learned something new. He is truly one of the most experienced & committed trainers around and gave us the confidence and appearance we needed for the big day. read more

Working with Chris is the best investment I've made for my health -- period. I've always been into fitness, but my workouts never really evolved from basic aerobic exercise. After some research, I decided to take the plunge and booked my visit with Chris after reading his amazing reviews. At my consultation, Chris took the time to genuinely understand my health and fitness goals. He takes a holistic look at where you stand: physical and nutritional health & wellness, work-life, etc. and curates a plan to launch off from. Chris is patient, flexible, and a true master of his practice. Every week, I knew what I was going into the gym for and Chris was there every step of the way. His gym space and equipment are supreme. Not only does Chris keep his facility in mint condition, he also invests in his space and has recently acquired state of the art equipment to spruce up his arena. Through months of hard work and commitment, Chris helped train me to level-up the way I went about my fitness. He taught me how and when to incorporate weight training into my routine, which made me a better athlete, and engrained in me the best form and structure during my workouts. Above all, Chris really is more than just a trainer. His charisma and aura allows him to connect with people from all walks of life. I whole-heartedly believe he does this work because he sees the good in you, why you are there, why you have the goals you do, and he can empathize with your situation. His life experience enriches the training and his nuggets of wisdom are priceless additions. You can sense the comradery every time you step into the gym. The atmosphere and the way he gets along with his clients is the gold standard. Though I had to move from San Diego, the training I had with Chris is something I will carry with me forever. He is truly the emblem of what it means to have a devoted trainer. He cares for you, and if you put in the time and work, you'll reap the fruits of your labor. read more

Lindsey is so patient and intelligent in how she helps get you to your goals. She customized my training to help improve strength, flexibility, stamina and also lose inches. Lindsey and Chris are a great team and their gym is so fantastic - you feel like part of the family with such a positive environment. I've seen great results for overall health not just aesthetics (which she helped greatly with as well!). In just a few months I have seen a change in my body physically but also have had fewer headaches and less back pain. Functional fitness - you can't go wrong with Lindsey!! read more

Lindsey is genuinely an incredible person who is generous with her time, attention, and yummy recipes. I was about 7 months postpartum when I started working with Lindsey and remained a client for nearly 7 months. During that time, I was still emotionally all over the place, struggled with some injuries, and had a hard time adjusting to my postpartum fitness level. Lindsey was so patient and gentle with me. She tailored sessions to meet me where I was physically and mentally. She met me at every high and low with understanding and without judgment; and because of that, she helped me regain confidence inside and outside the gym. That meant the world to me as a new mom struggling with my changed body and physicality. She made me feel like a friend, not just a client. Under Lindsey's guidance, I haven't had knee or hip pains in months, I completed my first 10k (something I couldn't even do before having a baby) and I can confidently say I feel fit! Not to mention, I hope to be at least half as amazing of a mom as her. She is a true fitness mom role model. Anyone would benefit from training with Lindsey, but postpartum mommas, do yourself a favor and sign up quickly :). read more

In 40 sessions and 3.5 months I lost 43lbs with Chris's training and guidance on health and fitness. Chris is a wonderful person to work with and the results speak volumes of his process - tailored to my abilities, low impact, and always safety first. Chris is a genius at showing you how to reach your best - I look forward to each and every one of our sessions. I'm in my early 40s, have never been athletic, and have had trouble losing weight over the past 10 years. I am so happy I entrusted Chris with my health and fitness goals that I committed to more sessions with him. I feel better than I ever have in my life - I go to sleep easily, wake up earlier, I'm not aching constantly - and the most profound thing to me is that I stress less about everything. read more

I have been training with Chris for the past 8 months and have loved it! I found him online and was drawn to the non intimating environment his gym offers. The gym is great and private and gives you room to try new moves and work your ass off in a comfortable place! I initially met with Chris for a consult and we discussed my fitness goals, he was warm and welcoming but also down to business and has provided me the training and accountability I was looking for! Chris is always there to push me and support me in all aspects of my life. He has inspired me to try new things such as a sprint triathlon (he was the one to be there to wish me luck before my race), and he is always there to talk about my day. Chris is a great trainer, coach and friend! Couldn't recommend him and the gym enough! read more

I am from the East coast; temporarily living in SD. One of my first goals coming out here was to train with one of the best trainers in SD, and that's when I found Chris Keith. You don't need to have any particular goals in mind, but if you are even thinking about a trainer; look no further. Chris has a lifetime of experience and works with a variety of ages; he will customize every workout to suit your specific needs. He is a wealth of knowledge and will show you techniques or equipment that you may have never considered. He takes pride in his coaching and clients; and will push you like you've never experienced. It has truly been a privilege training with him for the past 6 months. Like others have said if I could train with him indefinitely I would; he is irreplaceable!! For a while, I always considered getting a trainer. I would follow YouTube videos and motivate myself to be consistent at the gym for a years, and thought that was enough, but it wasn't until meeting Chris did I really level up and feel such a sense of control and power with all of my workouts. From Day one, Chris sits you down and has an initial meeting to get a feel of your background, who you are as a person, responsibilities you have in life, and of course what is your biggest goal you want in the gym. After this first of many wonderful conversations, he has already devised a perfect plan to help bring out your peak results through workouts that match you. I was shocked to also learn he gives people access to his gym 24/7 and will give you workouts to do on your own. So while I was paying for 3 sessions with him a week, I was able to go in on days we weren't training together for his intense and very rewarding low impact cardio workouts. This shows how his #1 priority is you, he wants to provide you with every resource to not only grow muscle, but grow as a person. It also cannot be said enough how great this man is at conversation. If you have any questions about diets, how to handstand/muscle up/squat properly/get a 6 pack while drinking boba, or anything in the realm of fitness, he will have a detailed answer with proper sources ready in seconds. Now you are probably reading all this like "ok great but what's the catch" and simply put the only negative thing I have ever thought while training with Chris is simply "WHY DIDNT I HIRE HIM SOONER". Because after one year with Chris, I can 100% say has been more impactful and rewarding than the previous 6 years combined. I have gotten stronger in all my lifts and can only feel progress ahead. CK if you are reading this thank you for all you have done and continue to do! read more

Deciding to train with Chris Keith has honestly been one of my best life decisions!  I don't write many reviews, but this is something I really must share.   To give some background, I had been skinny pretty much my entire life.  I had tried to bulk up and gain weight multiple times in the past, trying different programs, books, trainers, etc. Nothing quite had a lasting impact.  About 7 years ago I mostly gave up trying and instead began wearing slimmer fitting clothes to give the illusion of looking fit LOL.   But skinny doesn't necessarily mean healthy, even though most people assume that when they see someone who is thin.  I'd had a few health scares in the past couple years.  Also losing a dear family member made me wake up and realize how truly short life really is.   When researching trainers, I contacted 9 gyms and trainers in the area, and most either didn't do that much in-person 1-on-1 training, or catered more to groups or worked out of gyms full of other people.  I guess it's hard to explain but other gyms also seemed a bit too 'commercialized' and Chris and his gym seemed more genuinely client-focused without the extra flashiness.  He seemed less concerned about 'selling' me and more about learning about my personal health, my fitness goals and understanding/listening. I started in February 2018, weighing about 140-145lbs.  Today, about 3.5 months later, I weigh about 165-170lbs, and I'm also a lot stronger.  The most amazing aspect is that my waist is still the same size and I have actually lost a bit of fat!  Given my past bulking failures, I never imagined I could actually do it this time.  I am now heavier than any immediate family member has been in their entire lives (including myself of course).  Ultimately, I want to achieve a stronger body and mind long-term and test the limits of my genetic potential if possible, which is very far out.   Regarding the actual training, Chris truly cares.  I mean he cares enough to text me the times I got sick, and he really is a genuinely great person.  He's not only very knowledgeable about nutrition and weight lifting, he's also a patient teacher who explains things very well and really wants to help you achieve your goals.  It often feels like working out with an old friend.  In my past experience with another personal trainer, I had mainly been pushed to lift really heavy weights, not given much direction on proper form, and recommended generic dieting, bulk supplements, etc.  Chris is totally different.  He focuses a lot on proper exercise form, and I really appreciate the attention on that.  He cares more about longevity and lasting results, recommending more whole, organic foods, and rarely mentions a supplement unless I specifically ask him about something.  Even though I definitely have good short-term results, his attitude on thinking long-term is definitely more in line with my own personal fitness goals.   The gym itself is excellent. Very big and airy with lots of cool breezes, making you feel like you're working out in the perfect temperature outdoors, even though you're actually indoors. It's nice being able to go there for cardio when I need to, and it's always very clean and well-kept. He also has a bookshelf that he occasionally refers to, and I've learned so much not just about the movements, but also about posture, the importance of incorporating cardio, certain stretches, etc.  Sometimes the workouts can be quite intense, but never too much.  I like that he has a sense of where I am in my strength levels, energy level that day, etc. and knows when to give me an extra nudge on a few more reps and when I've reached my energy limits for the set. There are 2 small downsides that I think are specific to my fitness goals: 1- Because I'm trying to gain muscle/weight, I have to eat A LOT, and as I gain weight, I have to eat EVEN MORE to compensate for my increased metabolic burn rate. Eating, cooking, washing dishes, etc. is somewhat time-consuming and tiring.  This can sometimes be hard to balance with work and other life goals, but I'm learning to become more efficient. 2- The second downside is that I have to buy new clothes every few months because my arms and legs actually have muscle on them now ;)  Still, this is more of a 'good problem' because I love buying new clothing anyway. Overall, aside from the weight gains, cardio improvement and general better wellbeing, I've noticed that I sleep much better and consume considerably less caffeine, yet have much more energy than ever before. I also feel more confident in general.  Now that I've gotten past a milestone that I never thought possible, it's made me think about what else I could possibly accomplish given the right teacher with the right knowledge and experience. read more

If I could workout with Chris for the rest of my life, I would. I didn't have any crazy fitness goals, but I wanted to get stronger and more toned, and I've seen solid progress thanks to Chris. I've learned better form for pretty much everything, and his cues are very helpful and not overwhelming. Our workouts have been my favorite part of my day for the past few months and I've really enjoyed our conversations throughout. His personal gym has everything (including his two dogs which are awesome) and he shares it with you as if you're family. I'm very particular about what I spend my money and time on, and working with Chris was well worth it. read more

I knew of Chris Keith as an incredibly effective Personal Trainer in The Uptown Community long before I hired him in April of 2015. His reputation as the guy to go to for results is very well known. I have come across countless clients of Chris over the years and knew that one day he would be the guy to help me get to my goals. I was surprised when I met him how approachable and welcoming he was. I was really at a low point when I met him having had several surgeries after my car accident and gained a good amount of weight. Chris put me at ease instantly and I knew he was going to help me get to where I was before the accident. He progressed me safely and always explained in detail what we were doing and why. He knows his stuff and his experience really helps in knowing when to stretch or strengthen areas. I really like his Hillcrest Studio but love his gym at the west end of Mission Valley. It's huge and very well equipped. It's a massive warehouse with roll up doors with very high ceilings. The cross breeze is magic during our workouts and he really has created an atmosphere that brings out the best in you. His diverse clientele are in great shape and I have seen him change people's fitness levels in very short periods of time. In the time that I have trained with him I have quit smoking, lost stubborn body fat, and brought my tennis game to the next level. I am so happy with the work I've done with him and highly recommend him to anyone looking to make a serious change in their life in regards to health and fitness . read more

I have trained with Chris for the last six months and the experience has been amazing! He isn't like any other trainer I've worked with in the past. For one, he cares about your overall health. When I first started he worked to understand why I was there - what my goals were, where my limitations had been in the past, etc. He provided me nutrition advice that I could work to meet my needs; it was flexible and simple, unlike a lot of the rigid meal plans you often see, which meant I was able to stick with it despite a demanding personal schedule. Additionally, Chris works to understand what motivates you. My wife and I both train with him, and he has intuitively picked up the differences between us, and leverages that to train each of us as we need, individually. He is extremely cognizant of injuries and carefully works around my various issues. And his workouts are downright fun! He has a knack (and the space and equipment) for integrating a wide variety of exercises that keep workouts engaging and prevent the monotony that I've experienced with other "training plans" in the past. I'm extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to train with Chris! Like everything, you get out what you put in - but if you are serious about getting into shape and maintaining a healthy lifestyle (body and mind), there is nobody better to get you there. read more

Chris Keith is by far the best Personal Trainer in San Diego ... He is definitely not the least expensive but by far the best value out there. He's a trainer who has the best heart and really really cares about your overall well being. I've never faced a more caring and committed personal trainer before, and Chris really embodies the best of you can get. He also has a wonderful positive personality and so fun to workout with that the hour often feels like it passes by in 5 minutes. (This is a HUGE bonus especially for those of you who feel like working out is a drag or a chore!) Chris is always introducing new exercises and always comes up with new awesome things to get me sweating for a great workout that challenges my strength and cardio to the limit. If anything, it definitely adds to the list of my workouts that I'd be able to do on my own one day. Chris Keith is the best investment you'll ever make in yourself. By training with him, you'll not only be more informative about how to be healthy, but also how to challenge your body to its limits. As with every trainer out there, nobody is going to do the work for you. You'll have to do the pushing, the lifting, the movements on your own, but Chris Keith is 110% supportive and makes it a hell of a great time for you. He is so fun to be around with that instead of thinking about going to workout, it's like hanging out with a great friend who is hilarious and always getting you to laugh with all the health benefits! I am so happy I hired Chris, and I feel like my repertoire of workouts and the knowledge that I've gained is something extremely invaluable to me and I couldn't be ever more appreciative that Chris was the one who has changed my lifestyle. If there are any doubts, check out Chris and his gyms out for yourself. You won't regret it. read more
