    Spartan race
    Sarai D.

Ryan in a PHENOMENAL trainer/coach. He is very knowledgeable and well educated in every aspect of fitness. I found Ryan on the next door app after posting a recommendation request for a trainer. I was impressed by how many people recommended him. I have a background in body building and powerlifting so I has some issues that needed correcting (ie: butt wink, grip strength) and within the first couple of weeks he was able to correct all of that! With my powerlifting coach it was all about going hard and getting sore and working through pain, and I thought that's how it was supposed to be, but after training with Ryan I know it's not! He's happy to educate you on why you're doing something or not doing something so that you have a better understanding of how your body works. He's really expanded my views on fitness and health in general. He suggested a Spartan race, and I never thought about doing one because I always thought it was too hard of a goal. He was able to get me so ready that when it came to the race, I was more than ready! I was extremely prepared and had an easy fun time completing the race. He challenged me so much during training and it paid off big time! Now we are learning and training with kettle bells and he has such a vast knowledge in that type of training because of his education with Pavel at RKC. Ryan is all about functional strength and being your strongest in the safest way possible! He's all funny and personable, easy to talk to and makes you feel comfortable! Very professional. I look forward to many more sessions and seeing progress!

I found Ryan through a friend's recommendation with a goal to simply lose some covid weight and to feel better in my clothes. I'd never worked with a personal trainer before and wanted accountability for getting results quickly so I could go back to my yoga lifestyle prior to covid. After a full assessment of my body mechanics, Ryan presented me with a plan to achieve my strength and weight goals, beginning with the need to correct some things not working bio mechanically. At about week 5-6 I really began to see some results and the compounding affects of regular sessions. My yoga practice became stronger and running became easier. As I began to near 12 weeks, Ryan asked if I was interested in doing a Spartan race. I'd never heard of a Spartan race and after watching some race videos I was a little apprehensive about my ability to do it. But I was also curious to see if I had what it takes to do a race; and trusted Ryan to get me to where I needed to be to do it safely and enjoy it. The training was the most challenging I'd ever experienced and Ryan often said "the training is meant to be hard so when you get to the race it will be easier and fun". During the race I remember thinking to myself, "this race is hard, but not as hard as the training." Post race I have continued to train with Ryan not only because he makes it fun but also because he adds new things to keep it interesting and challenging. I was interested in learning kettle bells, which is very challenging and technical, and Ryan with his certified kettle training, provided safety while learning, but after 6 weeks I wasn't loving it. I expressed this to Ryan and at our next session he suggested we do some kick boxing and immediately I knew it was for me! Later on Ryan texted me "Don't ever worry about not liking a modality. It's my job to know different modalities to Match what works best for you." And THAT is why Ryan is THE BEST at what he does. He listens and finds what works best for you to achieve your goals and outcome, and to challenge you beyond. Ryan truly cares about his clients and is passionate about what he does.

My Spartan Beast medal - results of months of hard work and proper training. Thank you Ryan!

The studio is huge, very clean and parking is very easy. The front desk staff are also incredibly friendly and make you feel welcome as soon as you walk in. I've only taken classes with coach Jenna and coach Jaylon because their schedules work best for me and both have been awesome. Big shoutout to them and their killer playlists! I also like how each class is different, some are more cardio focused and some more strength focused so it never gets repetitive. If there's an exercise you're not comfortable with the coaches are always happy to give you alternatives and explain things. They really know their stuff and make the workouts approachable no matter your fitness level. Overall, this studio is great and I always look forward to coming back whenever I'm in town.

I relocated and didn't attend a single class, yet I was still charged two full months plus an additional month because of this hidden policy. The gym is huge to start so it is almost guaranteed that the machine you want will be available, even during peak hours. They really pride themselves on cleanliness and that is the most important aspect to me. Members are always wiping down their equipment before and after use and the employees are periodically cleaning all around. The locker rooms & restrooms are spacious with many spots available so that there is no stalling between guests. The amenities are wonderful - sauna, steam, tanning, gym equipment, kids club - EVERYTHING!! Do a 7 day trial and I promise you will be anting to sign up on day 3!

It was the primary reason I joined. Unfortunately, the circuit has never functioned as described. Staff doesn't enforce the intended rotation, and members routinely treat the machines like standard equipment -- sitting between sets, often on their phones, with no regard for others trying to move through. When I asked to work in during rest periods, I was met with outright rudeness. Even when staff stepped in to explain the circuit guidelines, members pushed back. A gym is only as good as the culture it cultivates. Enforcing the features you sell -- and holding members to basic courtesy standards -- should be non-negotiable. This gap between what was promised and what I experienced is why I cancelled my membership. I was also sold a personal training package by their independent in-house fitness training company and it was also not as presented--the trainer didn't listen to me, cut my session short, and never gave me the exercise plan as promised. I'm still fighting to get my $379 back for this.

But with the warm welcome from Coach Matty, I felt empowered to give it a try. The website does not do a great job of explaining the format, so here's what I experienced. The workout is split into three parts. Two strength based areas and one cardio tread. In the strength area, we engaged in things like deadlifts, curls, pull ups, etc. On the tread, we did a variety of intervaled runs with the section half being an option to either Tabata run or use the kettle bell to go between strength and floor core exercises. The coach cues each section and prompts you when to do what. Time flew by as you're constantly moving quickly from one exercise to another. I had a lot of fun and it was a really solid exercise. I left feeling stronger and sweatier! They offer first 3 classes free so you can give it a try!

This gym offers a wide variety of bootcamp like classes with fantastic energy and some truly talented coaches. While there are a few who are overly egotistical and could use a come back to earth reality check and a touch more humility, the majority of the coaching staff is excellent. Two standouts are Gabrielle Y. and Christian Q., who make working out an absolute pleasure. Gabrielle's welcoming demeanor and contagious positivity create a great atmosphere, and Christian's coaching style is equally motivating and supportive. The classes themselves are high-energy, challenging, and adaptable to different fitness levels. What I love most is that each coach brings their unique style and energy to the table. Once you find the coach who resonate with you, it's easy to stick with them and stay consistent. The variety keeps things interesting, and you'll never get bored while working toward your fitness goals. One of the challenges, however, is parking. Since Lazy Acres put up signs claiming what feels like half the lot, finding a spot can be a headache. I've learned not to arrive too early because spots typically free up only once the previous class ends. While it can be frustrating to circle the lot, a little patience and timing go a long way. It's something to keep in mind when planning your visits. The gym itself could benefit from more regular cleaning and maintenance. A deep cleaning is definitely overdue, as dust, hair, and even cobwebs can be seen in corners. Some benches are rusty and could use replacing. While these issues don't take away from the quality of the workouts, they do detract from the overall experience. Many other gyms in the area have weekly professional cleaning services, which could be a great addition here to help maintain a fresher, more polished environment. Despite these minor drawbacks, Renegade remains a fantastic place to work out. The membership is reasonably priced, although ClassPass is still more affordable and offers lower price penalties for late cancellations. Overall, the quality of the classes and the dedication of standout coaches like Gabrielle and Christian make this gym worth checking out. If you're looking for a challenging yet welcoming environment to achieve your fitness goals, Renegade is a solid choice--just plan ahead for parking and connect with the coaches whose energy aligns with yours!
