Unfortunately I will not be returning as their customer service is awful. As many of the other reviews mentioned they will not refund you under any circumstances and are not reasonable or trustworthy. The owners main concern is around making money and not the happiness or wellbeing of their clients. I last attended a class in November of 2020 where I dislocated my shoulder and was unable to train in the following months. Despite not attending a single session after this they charged me for the next month which I disputed. They refused a refund but offered credit. They then charged me for the following month which they eventually they did refund after a lengthy dispute. 8 months later they charged me a monthly membership fee again (£95). They claim my contract had been on hold and has since re-commenced despite having no correspondence of this. They refused to offer me a refund. I had logged in via their booking system many months ago to try to cancel my account with them. I couldn't see an option to do so, instead I requested that the system remove my details. The fact I was then charged again indicates a GDPR breach. On another note throughout Covid they pushed the rules consistently so I was not comfortable to attend the gym during certain periods. This is probably because the gym owner is a Covid conspiracy theorist.

From the very first class I took with Carlos, he was extremely welcoming. There's no pretension, ego or hostility in his classes - not from instructors or students. As I started attending more regularly (I do conditioning/pad work once a week and the sparring class every Friday night), I realised just how committed and talented Carlos is not just at boxing, but teaching it. Teaching is an entirely separate skill to being able to box, but it's clearly something Carlos has worked on and can deliver extremely effectively. He has the mark of someone who has put in his 10,000 hours to be a great trainer. In just a few seconds of pad work or him watching you spar, he'll spot your mistakes, stop you, and make you fix them before continuing. Every time you reach a new level, he'll give you more feedback to get to the next one. I learn more every Friday at sparring than I learn most weeks at work and in other areas of my life. Initially, I was reluctant to attend the Friday sparring classes, as it meant giving up my nights out drinking and socialising, but after trying it just once, I realised that coming home, sweaty and drained from sparring but with a head full of learnings, was far more enjoyable than waking up with a hangover and nothing to show for it the next day. I cannot recommend Moreno boxing enough if you have even a slight vestige of interest in the martial arts. Check out a class and see if it's for you.

In February I found out I would have to move away from Battersea and would need to cancel. This is supposed to be a no contracts gym with a 30 day notice period. In JULY I AM STILL GETTING CHARGED. I sent numerous emails to the gym, who promised they would go through the process of canceling my membership and get in touch with the course of action. Nothing ever happened. Eventually, I had to ask my bank to cut off the payments and send out an indemnity reclaim for the 4 months I shouldn't have been charged. Save yourself a headache and join Fitness First. I much prefer the activity i.e. golf, snowboarding, cycling where I get the health benefit and the actual enjoyment. However despite my initial misgivings, I signed up via a qype offer, and I have been extremely surprised; I have found myself really enjoying the experience, though the 20 to 30 minutes after the session I find absolute beagony due to my inherent lack of fitness. The trainers are friendly, always mindful and engaging, however they do push you without resorting the drill sergeant tactics. Curiously, you will find yourself trying to beat or at least push yourself to get the most of of the experience and to match the expectations of your trainer. Having researched some prices of other gyms, this is by far the best I have seen in terms of value, and allied with the new equipment and the friendly staff, it seems a no-brainer. I would definitely recommend it to someone wanting to push themselves to lose weight, gain muscle or in my case just improve my level of fitness a bit.

I have always been active and always a member of a gym, but I never quite achieved either the…read moreweight loss I was always striving for or the toned physic and was getting extremely de-motivated. A colleague of mine then recommended I visit IgnitePT and see what I think so I went to take a look. My initial goal was to lose around two stone I had put on since turning 30 (a little while back now) and to coincide the weight loss with a holiday to South Africa. If I am honest, I didn't think it was a realistic goal as I had attempted it in the past and the weight simply didn't reduce to the extent I wanted which was really disappointing. I was working out, putting hours into my gym sessions but really poor results. I signed up and had to keep a food diary which was regularly reviewed. The critique was tough but very fair and it became a learning experience / re-education to what I should eat and drink and when. It was a surprise to me how often I should eat and was strange to have a recommendation to eat more often but it allowed me to feel nourished and gave me the energy to rise to the challenging workouts that came alongside the dietary changes. It also reduced my snacking tendency and a cheat day was built in to keep me on track. A proper exercise programme was then drawn up with a mixture of some personal training, gym work and an appropriate balance of rest. The PT sessions consisted of some tough cardio i.e. circuit style work with working every muscle group. The range of equipment kept it interesting though and the fact that I could see the progression at regular intervals. I would be lying if I said my personal training sessions were a doddle far from it. I have never worked so hard before or felt so whacked at the end of the hour sessions. However once my initial conditioning was out the way I was relatively pain free as I was pushed to a limit but not to the extent that I couldn't walk. The constant changing of the exercises and the fact that I could see definite progression made it all motivational as did the great prompting and encouragement given by my trainer. I am so proud of having lost the weight and love all the compliments I get. Tough bit now is continuing to maintain it but I'm confident I can do it and think that training at IgnitePT was one of my best decisions ever.

My first time there, there were two others - clearly regulars - and the lovely personal trainer, Suzy, took us through the various exercises, tailoring the intensity of each exercise to the ability of each of the class. Now, having only gone for one session thus far, I can't say for certain if it works. I can say that I'm not exactly unfit, and that having to do exercises on a vibrating plate was definitely more intense than I expected. I ached quite a far bit the next day, and even more the day after! I don't like the gym. Not one bit. I'm much more of a cardio person, preferring to dance or box or what not. But I'm seriously considering taking this up on a regular basis in the hopes that I'll finally be able to make my problem areas less... well... problematic!
