My swim class.started off with a reschedule but everything came together after that with a patient coach, adult and encouraging class then the customary push to join the Y. I'm like I'm just here for swim classes. But the atmosphere is enveloping. It reminds me of home or a specific community center feel. There are programs for teens and on the CMS no school days. ok. I did write a review. It was short and sweet. I don't care for the process of how swim classes don't really progress or have a checklist of what you will have accomplished by the end and if you don't then you don't progress on that part. You know, like the kids but I guess they figure... you're an adult...be honest with yourself. Nonetheless, not too much chlorine. The place is clean. Members are nice. Sign up OnLINE and pay Online.

From the time the class started...it went downhill. As soon as the class started.... she singled me out of about 20 women...(mind you) in the water I was doing the exercise wrong. There was no greeting me....at all. This was my 1st class with her. She went straight to making me feel like I was being singled out...out of all the women (which may have been her regulars). Every sec she got...she was telling me I was doing exercise wrong out of ALL the other 10-15 women in the pool. I thought maybe it is just me but when 2 other ladies noticed it.....no not just me. I was blatantly being singled out in the water aerobics class...once again I have to say....it was alot of other women in the pool. I finally had to ask her not to say anything else to me and I left class. For Anyone going to any class etc..it's the instructors job in my opinion to make the person feel Welcomed! Regina the water instructor did not do that. This is not the YMCA Christian way. This has been my 4th or so week going to this gym and it was good until this last time. I can't stand places that shut down over the weekend or just offer a 9am Saturday class. The heat is good, I got some great sweating and detox going. It's a very small studio that gets very crowded. There is also a lack of creativity to a lot of the classes, for example they do side plank over and over again and repeat sequences constantly.

What I most enjoyed is the personal attention paid to my specific needs. I'm dealing with a shoulder issue and they were mindful to provide a good workout while not creating more of a problem. They provide a tough set of workouts but I was able to get through it and come back for more. I'd recommend either Brian or Dustin. If you're a whiner like I am during workouts, Dustin will laugh along with you and keep it fun. Brian will add more reps until you just stop whining. Both approaches are effective!

I decided to purchase the promotion of 3 classes for a set amount for first timers. I scheduled my first two using the online scheduling system in place. I took a class with Author again and one with Jerome. Both classes were great and just as intense as I recalled. I unfortunately could schedule my 3rd class due to business travels and my availability. I tried to book my last class and was told that I couldn't because it was a couple days after the 30day cutoff(SUCKS).. I'll suggest this place for sure however I'm a little aggravated about my situation & I'll need to get over it before looking into joining it paying for more classes.

I feel so blessed to have met them because these guys are the real deal in fitness. They were so motivating and had a lot of tough love when they coached me and the class. So when I was sand-bagging today in the lunge, Dayron yelled out in class today "I don't believe you!!!" so then I was sure to get to 90 degrees in my lunge ;) Arthur and Dayron will push you through each exercise and they pull your potential out of you. These two should be so cocky with how excellent their teaching is but they are so down-to-earth and committed to each student's success in the classroom. If you haven't been to this studio then you are definitely missing out!!

Now, you must know that I have avoided exercise my entire life - over 40 years! I was in pitiful shape when Rhonda got a hold of me! I spent several years on meds for back pain and arthritis - I started with Tone Your Temple in April 2010. I started with Pi-Yo (a combo of pilates and yoga) and added a Vivify class (yoga with a focus on gentle stretching and breathing). I just added a weight training class - making progress! People who know me well are amazed at my new-found flexibility, strength and fitness level - did I mention that I no longer take any prescription meds for joint or muscle pain? Everyone is unique in their fitness needs - and I see the ladies who participate in Fit Camp as well as the ladies who stay with Vivify. Rhonda is enthusiastic, supportive and encouraging to everyone regardless of fitness level. I would highly recommend this Tone Your Temple - it really has improved my quality of life!

I was intimidated because, through word of mouth, and a few Yelp reviews, I heard that the classes were super hard and the instructors/other class participants were unfriendly and perhaps a little snobby. While the class was extremely challenging, I found the instructor and other participants to be friendly and welcoming. The only issue I had was keeping up, the class was very full and at several points in the class I could not see what the instructor was doing. I'll definitely return to Hilliard Studio Method again soon because I want to be as long and lean as the instructors... next time, I'll place my mat closer to the instructor! Don't let the Myers Park address scare you away ...I felt perfectly at home in my Target workout attire!
