The staff is always great and the instructors are motivating, encouraging, helpful, and energetic! Mia Orlando normally instructs the classes that align with my schedule and she is amazing! I've also trained with Jamie and Ashley and they're both great! In the four months or so that I've been attending 3MF classes I've never run into any situation where classmates were jerks, standoffish, or anything else like that! Everyone is there for the same goal and will always help each other out!

I came here this past Monday for a 6am class, walked in about 10 minutes early, and there was a guy sitting behind their smoothie bar (the instructor for the class). Not only was he staring at his phone for the 10 minutes I waited for people to get to the class, he didn't ask me if I had been there before, didn't ask if I had any injuries he needed to know about, etc. Essentially, I think he was more concerned with sports stats or Instagram than anything else that morning. I would never come back to this location. You need to prepare your trainers to have better customer service/social manners than anything else. The workout was fine, it's the experience that made me not want to return.

I moved to Pittsburgh a few months ago and wanted to find a local gym. I've lived in MANY cities…read moreand been a member at MANY gyms, so I know what I want and need. As I researched nearby gyms prior to my move, Altus stood out - they had great reviews online and their philosophy/program offering seemed to align with what I was seeking. John was very responsive to my initial inquiry and after I got settled, I went to meet him for an initial consult. Our conversation gave me full confidence this was the place for me. I love strength training, so I wanted to work with a trainer to get me back into the routine of lifting weights, but I need flexibility - I travel frequently for work and often have to book trips last minute. During our conversation, we talked through everything - my history with strength training, my work and travel schedule, nutrition, injuries, goals, expectations, budget --- it was the most thorough consult I've had with any gym. I also had a preliminary session to determine my baseline (strength, range of motion, etc.) and get all the data measurements, which we use and remeasure to track my progress over time. Now that I've been going to Altus for a few months, I can genuinely say the entire experience - and Altus team - have been amazing. I immediately felt welcome and I appreciate the trainers so much. I've been working with Aaron for my individual sessions and squad sessions and it's been great. He's truly a 'coach' in that we're always talking through each set (about my form, the muscle groups we're focused on, how I'm feeling after each set, why we're doing certain things, etc.) -- it's educational, engaging, and fun. And he's always flexible with my crazy work schedule - accommodating changes when I have to go out of town, providing workouts through the mobile app that I can do virtually when I'm gone, squeezing in sessions when nothing about my availability is 'normal', and checking in regularly between sessions to see how I'm doing. I've also joined several classes and they're always fun - Heather, Cheri, Brandi --they'll kick your butt, but you'll love every minute of it. :) the Versa climber was a new piece of equipment for me --- it's killer but awesome! If you're looking for a gym that will focus on what you need and trainers who will champion you every step of the way to reaching your goals --- head over to Altus. They're the best!

I was surprised to find Altus in downtown Pittsburgh, located between a couple of fast food…read morerestaurants. I wasn't sure what to expect, but it completely exceeded my expectations! I signed up for a Versa climber 45 minute class (FYI - you can sign up for your first class for free). When I walked up the steps of the studio, I was blown away by the entire gym setup, in addition to the classrooms. They truly have something for everyone! When I signed in for class, I was given a heart monitor to track my workout and taken back to the climber room. The instructor, Cody, was so welcoming and full of energy! I was a little worried since this was my first time taking this type of class, and he made me feel so comfortable and continued to motivate us throughout the entire 45 minutes of class. This workout was HARD, but I felt so good after and would definitely come back to Altus to check out their other options in the future

When you first walk in, you are welcomed by a colorful and motivating mural and the space is kept clean! The trainer PJ was friendly, professional and caring throughout our session. At the end of the session, I left feeling inspired to go work out again and continue making healthier choices for my body. Hope more folks can go check out HolisticFit!

HolisticFit is different than any gym I've experienced and PJ is different than your typical…read moretrainer. PJ's focus is on helping you get healthier - whether that means trying to build strength or otherwise deal with an injury or joint problems or lose weight or whatever. I say that his approach is different because many trainers say those things (pro-health, not just about weight loss, etc. - but then deliver standard boot camp, etc that's not right for everyone and really doesn't make room for people who are less fit or have injuries or joint problems). I imagine he'd be quite good with fit athletes who want to improve their game as well. Many other trainers I've worked with seem to use the same approach with all of their clients and in some cases, I could tell they weren't thinking much about me individually. However PJ provides an individualized program that in my case combines dealing with joint pain, losing weight, and even stress reduction in each session. He mixes up the activities so each session feels new and challenging. In addition, I find it refreshing that PJ isn't one of those trainers who is in your face or yelling to push you, he pushes and encourages but does it from a more steady place. He has a nicely-designed gym (with free parking -- a bonus in Pgh these days) and takes good care of the place, it is clean and organized. I'm glad that HolisticFit has entered the Pittsburgh fitness scene and I recommend it highly!
