Private Axe Throwing Party was AWESOME!! WHAT FUN! They have a really great (SAFE) facility that has LOTS of space (we plan to go back for some paintball fun!). It's really a class-act setup & a fabulous 'different' experience which made for a great party! We booked a party, which on Mon-Wed they are closed & it's only private parties (not sure if this is year round or just the winter hours?); but it was GRAND having the WHOLE PLACE to ourselves! We just had 8 people for an 18th b-day party & we could easily have had another 4-6 people with the room they have for axe-throwing. The Axes area is a nice size but also cozy, almost like a neat 'bar' environment. *FYI-it is BYOB-no liquor* We brought wine for adults & sparkling juice for the teens. 3 boys, 1 girl and 4 adults.....we ALL had so much fun! $249 isn't cheap, but it was worth every penny. 90-minutes (which the fabulous gentleman who was there for us did not start our time until all safety briefing & instruction time was over) of throw time was MORE than enough, the last 10 minutes you could tell it was time to go eat, so more than 90 min would just have been too much. There are 3 high-top tables with 4 chairs each. There are 5 throwing lanes. Each lane has mesh metal screens on the sides and thick wood-paneled walls. The targets (which I read about on their site) are really amazing, the thicker blocks they use vs. cheaper boards make the axe's stick GREAT and easily for almost any throw-er. The 'games' are projected onto the boards and have score keeping that is fun & easy (like a bowling alley) with a PC mouse & keypad. The gentleman who was there for our party experience was fantastic, even came in a few times & showed us different throw-angles to try and (as a 'mom') I felt safe that he was keeping an eye on everything too. Super nice and accommodating gent - helped make our evening even more fun! Helpful tip: If you go at night, the sign is currently not lit, so it's RIGHT after Black's Tire/Goodyear. The parking lot is dark, but you'll see the lights inside are on! OH - take snacks & drinks for your party, also any plates or utensils - they only have the tables/seating & the entertainment! read more

Crossfire Does It Again! Crossfire gets better and better every time I visit. They rebuilt after the hurricane, a beautiful new interior for paintball and nerf. After COVID, they added GellyBall. And now, AXE THROWING! I had never thrown axes before and it was easy to get the hang of enough to have fun. Also, the computer projects different games onto the wooden target so you never get bored. I went with just one other person but this would be a blast for a group - co-workers, friends, bachelor/bachelorette party, school organization, fraternity/sorority outing. No limits. read more

Went to Wilmington for a Spring Break with some friends. We booked a private paintball party for the kids and it was a BLAST. Great way to tire the kids out and they had a lot of fun. We even went back a second time for the parents to do some axe throwing. I have done this before but it was just a target on a giant board. Crossfire is really cool. Not only do they have projected targets that allow for a bunch of different games, you can throw axes and even throwing knives. It is a great option for rainy days on a beach vacation, OR if you get a little sunburned and want to be indoors for a day, this was super fun. This place was super cool and really eclectic. This is kind of off the block but we were there for a nerf birthday party. For this party, they rented out the nerf area where it had a sitting area for the parents and a play area for the kids. It has obstacles and little hiding spots and was really fun for the younger kids. They also had another area that had gellyball but our kids were too little. It looked really neat and then to the far side they had ax throwing. Throw in a few arcade games and this is a great spot to pass some time in Wilmington. read more

We attended a birthday party at Crossfire paintball. There is a large space with tables set up for parties along with a few arcade games separate from the paint ball and nerf rooms. My son and the most of the guests were around 11 years old. The boys were provided instructions on how to use the paintball guns. They were given helmets with face masks and the game was on! Teams were made and rules provided to keep everyone safe. The games last a few minutes as players are eliminated as they are shot. The boys absolutely loved it! Suggestion would be wear long sleeve shirt and pants, and if you can pad up your clothing that helps! It does hurt when you get hit. After a few games, we took a break for pizza and cake. Then.....back into the obstacle/barrier battle room they went. We will definitely go back to play and my son has asked if he could have his party there. My brother in law wanted to come check this place out for Father's Day. After signing the requisite waiver we were escorted into the main area. There we were outfitted with masks and guns, while the kids got safety vests. I wore jeans, long sleeve shirt, and sweatshirt, and although hot, was glad I had the protection. For $25 approximately you get 100 paint balls which lasts anywhere from 15-45 minutes. You can also purchase more paintballs at anytime during the game which allows you to play as long as you'd like. It's a definite adrenaline rush as you're dodging bullets. Note that it WILL sting, no matter what you're wearing, but it dissipates pretty quickly. It was fun since we had the whole place to ourselves but I imagine it would be even better with a larger group. The guys running it were super chill which was nice. read more

Took my kids (9,11,and 13)here as part of our summer bucket wish list. The place is top notch! I suggest you get the 500 paint ball package when you go. The price is all inclusive (you may want pants and long sleeve shirt). The staff is friendly safe and great with younger kids. They really enjoy the sport. They do use smaller paint balls so if you have young kids (7yr olds) they are able to play (bring them a long sleeve shirt) I found the smaller paint to be nice indoors and the gun speeds are all preset. They use premium barrels on their equipment (radial holes for good ball spin and accuracy). Honestly on your own you'd spend $100 a person for a few rounds. We booked this as a family right after Christmas and happened to be the only people there. We had a private session and were able to have fun at our own pace. Great place for kids and adults. Took my kids for the nerf guns but was very interested in there indoor paintball court. With North Carolina's weather being so unpredictably rainy this would be my first choice for paintball. The staff were friendly and approachable they were involved with the customers answering all questions with a positive attitude. My kids were very disappointed leaving and didn't hesitate to ask when we were going to come back. The only reason I'm giving 4stars is because of the size of the Nerf courts. Amazing. Period. Super friendly, family friendly. We spent about four hours here, five families came in with kids under 12. They were really accommodating for them and put effort into reminding everyone that there were kids on the field and made sure an environment with respect and safety was paramount. Paintball Birthday Party was awesome! My 10 year old has been begging to play paintball so we thought a paintball party would be great. We invited both boys and girls ranging from 10-12 and they all had a great time. I was a little worried at first thinking the kids would get hurt. The impact stings a little but it didn't stop any of them, we even purchased more "ammo" to extend our time. None of them wanted to stop playing! The staff was awesome, they explained how to use the equipment, how to play in teams and how to be safe. It was a great experience we will definitely be back.
