some of the heirloom tomato plants I bought.
    Ki G.

Every year, when the grass starts to show itself again and the sun actually warms the air, I begin dreaming of planting a fantastic garden full of fruits and vegetables and huge, fragrant flowers. Dream is the operative word here, since my gardening is haphazard at best. So one rainy Saturday, my favorite chili plant evangelist and I drove out to this magical nursery where in small, fragrant greenhouses, the plants were waiting. They have an astounding variety of chilies and peppers, ranging from the sweet cubanele, which you can stuff and roast, to the bhut jolokia "ghost peppers" in a variety of colors. And every size, shape and color in between. I got myself some anchos, jalapenos and a variant of habaneros to attempt to plant, cultivate and ultimately eat. I also ended up getting some gorgeous heirloom tomato plants (can't wait for the colors to explode on the vine), and the most in-your-face-almost-aphrodisiac-basil I've ever smelled. It is the small leaf variety, named simply enough - Boxwood Basil, but holy sh*t it was potent. We both kept sniffing the plants like junkies on crack. Icing on the cake for this visit - the super helpful, friendly and patient owners, who chatted with me and answered all my questions about tomato rot and soil variety. They also had some of the most wonderful border collies hanging out with them, who were more than happy to be petted and adored by us. This is a perfect day trip for those who need a break from the daily grind and want to brighten up their window sill, fire escape or (in my case) backyard with some really wonderful plants. Not to mention, it's really inexpensive AND you can pre-order your plants online and even have them shipped to you. But I think heading out there is the way to go, if not, how else will you get to play with collies and sniff basil? As good as it gets!

They are a little more…read moreexpensive than their competitors which we knew, but we loved the whole experience of the design and thought they were very professional. The reason why I wouldn't recommend this company is the quality of their support is subpar. Many of the plantings died within the first year even though they get watered daily. The trees don't grow, whereas trees we bought from other landscaping companies in the area are already taller than our house. The patio has loose pavers and the low voltage lighting doesn't work everywhere. Some lights work, others don't. When I asked about the lights, they said it's a supplier issue from China, however they've installed other patios in our neighborhood with lights. I guess it's only a supplier issue for warranty issues and not new installs. The issue with the loose pavers however is the reason I'm writing this review. When I called to asked them to come out and take a look, they told me they can't take support calls like this over the phone instead I would need to email them. I don't understand how a company that I paid thousands of dollars to for a patio won't talk to me on the phone. I now have to wait days for a reply via email. Ridiculous Also, they are going to reply to this review asking me to call them and speak to management. That's a waste of time as when I call the person on the phone will say "send us an email". Terrible.

This place is under new ownership and is a pathetic shell of what it used to be. Prime planting season and virtually no inventory in the main shopping selecting area. A fraction of the inventory is out and not in very healthy shape. The new owners are apparently a husband and wife team. The husband admits he doesn't know much about where the specific inventory is and asks his wife for help. She speaks very little English but at the end you figure out they don't have what you're looking for. Common everyday garden stuff. Nothing exotic. I loved giving local small businesses my time and money. I'd go here before going to the big box stores. Not anymore. Don't waste your time thinking this will be your one-stop gardening visit. You will likely be very disappointed. Lastly, this place used to be busy to the point of having a tough time finding a parking spot. The place was buzzing with customers every day... not just weekends. I found myself there on a Monday morning and spent 30 minutes there. I was the only one there during that time. That speaks volumes to me. I predict this will be a one season ownership before it will be sold or closed up. Let's see.
