The place was spotless and we were lucky enough to have our own bathroom. Location was nice and not too far away from downtown and quiet enough to get a good night sleep. The beds!! We plan to return and stay here at our next visit to Ireland.

Beautiful B&B owned by 3 brothers who bought and refurbished the place in memory of their late mother (Marie) hence the name, Marie's Bed & Breakfast! All three brothers are on the property and very attentive and helpful! Beautiful B&B with lovely rooms and bathroom! Also, the whole place is so clean!! We got the twin bed room with the garden view and private bathroom/shower. Very relaxing and friendly environment. Literally, can't think of anything that I would want or need. We mentioned that we were planning on taking a cab into central dublin downtown for tours and they coordinated and called a taxi/cab for us for every day!! The rooms and bathroom was cleaned every day when we left for our excursions. And it's always so nice and welcoming to be back after a long day. Clean shower, and comfortable beds are what makes it even more memorable to a great vacation. If you have questions they will answer it! Need a good game plan for a trip in town? Done! Or a side trip to a nice area where is not a tourist trap? Done! Definitely reccomend you stay here. No regrets! Highly highly recommend to family and friends!

Words cannot describe how AMAZING the stay was…read more I live in Dublin, but I needed a place for my Grandad to stay while visiting me. I've used other B+Bs before, but they were all booked. I then found this place online and decided to give it a go. I wish I found this place sooner. From the get--go, I knew we found a special place. When checking in, my Grandad asked the Owner what time breakfast was.. She then asked him, "What time do YOU want breakfast?!". Wow-that level of personalisation stuck out to me immediately. My Grandad had the most comfortable, warm and enjoyable stay. His room was super clean and very comfy. He had his own bathroom, and the place was kitted out with a television, hairdryer and toiletries. My Grandad said his breakfasts were so yummy. He had options of full english, cereals and fruit. The whole B+B has this traditional, homely vibe. Family photos of days gone by are on the walls, and there are book shelves where guests can help themselves. The B+B is situated a few mins walk from McDonalds, Pizza Places and Tesco (a grocery store). So if you need anything, you don't need to go far. The City Centre is right by, which is ideal because I don't drive. Bernie, the Owner was so warm, helpful and amazing. It was raining during my Grandad's stay which limited what we could do and see. I don't drive, and ON HER OWN, she offered to drive us through Phoenix Park, so we can experience it. She advised that it's better to see the place in a car-She was right! And she even drove us past the Guinness Storehouse, giving us the history of the area and insider knowledge that you wouldn't find on wikipedia. Mind you, she did this out of the goodness of her heart. Again, where else will you see this level of personalization? Really going above and beyond! Bernie is also super knowledgeable and gives the best advice on which attractions to see, which are worth paying for, and not just trying to extort you for money-and even the history behind certain buildings/monuments. It's no surprise that my Grandad asked her for her business card, so that he can recommend her to everyone back home in the UK. I am happy because I have peace of mind that my Grandad (and other family from abroad) will always have a great place to stay at, when they visit me. I can't recommend this place enough. The value you receive is not reflected in the price. I would pay triple than what is charged. Thank you Bernie! You and your B+B really stood out to my Grandad and helped make his stay in Dublin to be memorable and enjoyable. He can't stop talking about what a great stay it was. He's now already planning his next visit!

When I called up to enquire on price and availability , I was presented with a couple of options and given a really good run through on options etc that I hadn't consider, basically I ending up getting a truck, I never knew I could drive one on a car licence. The location was fine, just beside the Red Cow Hotel and the truck was clean, well presented and had a lift thingy at the rear. Price wise, I was very happy and saved a bit of money by transferring my own insurance. This place is actually massive, there was probably 100 trucks and vans at the rear of the building. Service was fine, friendly and pretty much no nonsense as you would expect from a commercial truck rental company. All in all, a good experience and would highly recommend.

This is it... the only taxi service you can rely on (short of flood, famine or 3am -in which case…read moreyou may need to wait an extra 10 minutes) for fast pick ups practically anywhere in Dublin. Having operated under a few different names over the years, the current Co Op Taxi service draws on a wide network of drivers who are usually within 5 /10 minutes of a pick up destination. Outside of regulated fare costs there are no additional fees for this service -although you may feel obliged to tack on a Thank You for the polite (even charming) manner of the drivers ferrying you about town. The phone-in booking system is a breeze, with hold times greatly reduced now that the service is fully up and running. Within two minutes callers should be able to book their car -frequent users can cut that back even more by registering their phone number with the company. Currently, the only drawback is the missing / broken website which will allow online bookings once all is repaired.

Interesting that the other reviewers have seen the ticket-checking folks in this area. I usually…read moreonly see them at Dundrum and beyond. Maybe its a time-of-day thing. Anyway, I've done the math and they seem to check frequently enough to justify buying the ticket. I get checked every 10-15 rides, so a €45 fine works out to € 3 - 4.50 per ride. More expensive than the ticket. Although if you think you can talk your way out of the fine every now and then (say, with a bewildered look and a German accent) you might find the calculus tipping in your favor. Not that I would advise such behavior. Anyway, this is a lovely stop. The viaduct means that interference with Ranelagh is minimal, even though the Luas cuts right though the center of the village. It really couldn't be more convenient. I'm also going to echo Dani on the coffee at Pinocchio. Definitely worth a visit, if you can spare the time.

The station provides a sheltered seating area and one ticket machine either side of the Luas tracks. The station is seldom busy owing to it being only three stops away from St. Stephen's Green (the last stop on the Green Line taking you all the way into the city centre) and hence most people travelling into town would have already boarded by now together with the reason that walking from this point only takes 20mins max and henceforth unless you are feeling quite sluggish or in such a rush you figure saving an extra few minutes will help your critical cause most people just walk instead of potentially paying for the Luas. I say 'potentially' because the method of payment to use the Luas is quite a contentious subject. There are no ceremonial means of having your ticket checked. What happens is that you board the tram, say with a ticket bought from the freestanding machines at each stop and unless an inspector in a fluorescent orange jacket suddenly boards at one of the stops to check tickets you will not have your ticket inspected. The inspectors, in my experience of living in Dublin are rarely seen and so it is customary behaviour by numerous people, especially students who have limited money to spend, not to buy a ticket at all. At a hefty €1.90 it is hard to justify paying this price for such a short journey, maybe if the local transport company did not charge such a bold price people would be more keen to pay, even if it was just to get rid of some loose change and ensure that if an inspector did board you were safe. If you do get caught ticketless the fine is an excruciating €45. The gamble is yours to either take or, well, not to take.

The company refused to cancel the tour, citing their cruise policy only applies if the cruise does not disembark at all. With their refusal to cancel and no reduced fee for the tour, despite the fact it was a 3 hour tour instead of the day trip planned, going to none of the stops that were on the itinerary, I can confidently state this is not a cruise friendly company, nor a customer oriented one. Although it isn't the guides fault (or ours), our guide took us to a little town where virtually everything is closed. A reputable tour company does not do this. Everyone knows that a good tour company is one that understands a win-win is possible in these circumstances (more than one win-win option available in these circumstances), but greed took over for Butlers. Highly avoid!
