What an absolute surprise! This place appears to be no more than a simple rural convenient store from the outside. However, you'll immediately notice a relatively large amount of vehicles parked outside if you are there during lunch or dinner time. It appears to be super popular with those who know about it. Once you're inside it's obvious it's been at least 30 years since the last update. Don't worry, it's perfectly clean but is well worn. At this point it's not quite old enough to be kitchy or quaint, but I do prefer it in it's "natural state" over the restaurants that try to tack a theme on. It's literally just a mile (or less?) from the middle of Moshiem, but feels very rural. This is a neat touch, whether intentional or not. Once you get a look at the menu, you find a really wide choice of things to eat at excellent prices. $5.99 gets you the daily specials...a meat and two sides. A nice touch is that you fill your own drink at a centrally located fountain, even though a waitress takes your order and brings your food. This is a nice hybrid system that cures the whole issue of waiting for that refill that often never happens. It's too bad more places don't adopt this format. The food we received was excellent in every way...a ton of food for the money and perfect tasting. Everything. Not just the entree, but the sides too! Maybe the best mac and cheese I've had anywhere. This place makes me wonder why so many "nicer", more expensive restaurants can't simply make good tasting food. This place is an absolute five in every way...except the appearance.

What a gem!

The cheese rounds and fries taste like they are cooked in the same fryer as fish but other than that their food is good

The two sides I ordered, living dangerously with the carbohydrates, ha ha, creamed, corn, and mashed potatoes with gravy. Those mashed potatoes were the best ones I've ever had in a restaurant anywhere. They were creamy and extremely flavorful with a good gravy! The cream corn was just the right touch of sweetness with a little saltiness! Such a wonderful dinner! I DoorDashed so I can't speak to the staff, but they got it to me quickly and again, it was so good! Five stars! Really was not expecting much as I am new in town- will come again!

The prices were a bit high considering the ambiance is mediocre at best. My wife ordered the Chicken Wrap and I think she enjoyed it. I got the Pulled Pork Nachos. The pulled pork was good but the chips were like leather, not sure how that even happens. The first chip I tried was inedible as were many others on my plate. The honest truth is that I was so hungry that I searched for chips I could chew and ate the Pulled Pork. I ended up with a pile of impossibly hard chips on my plate. Considering that I had eaten some that took some work to chew and a good portion of meal was gone I informed the waitress of the issue when the bill came, then paid and left. The waitress had apologized for the poor quality of the food but I didn't feel I deserved a refund as I had eaten all that I could chew. My wife told me I was sweating from the effort! We just asked her to inform the cook and left. I'm told the waitress informed either the manager or owner of my culinary experience but no one said anything. If it were me I would have at least stopped by to pay respects, oh well.

Just a small dining area with a few diner style tables. Okay local diner for a lunch bite. Seems like mostly locals come here. We got two of their burgers. Maybe other things on the menu are good, but they don't have great burgers. The patties were clearly pre-made frozen ones from a store-bought package; they didn't have good flavor. But the onion rings and potato wedges were good. The sweet tea was also good. Although I'd expect a diner to have bottles of ketchup and mustard available, but we were given packets. Between the packets, pre-made patties and run down building, it doesn't feel like they're trying very hard to be better. The ladies working there were pleasant and prompt when asked for something. They seemed very friendly with the locals they knew. We may give them a try again in the future, but it won't be one of their burgers.

Maybe the worst exterior appearance I've seen to date. Looks totally abandoned. Not only did they…read morekeep the original name from when this was a basic burger joint back in the day, they didn't bother to touch the outside in any way. Odd choice. Makes you feel as if they want to keep this place a secret. Seems to be working - I've driven by here for years and was never totally sure this place was open for business. Only due to Yelp did I find out it was. Once inside you'll find a reasonably nice, recently updated dining area. The kitchen area however still looks like a 1970's independent burger place. When you see the menu it's somewhat of a surprise. "Dairy Dream" makes you think this is going to be a entry level hamburger place. It's not. It's a mid priced dinner restaurant that does have hamburgers on the menu if you want one, but focuses mostly on dinners. And the food? Well above average. Everyone in our party was quite happy with our meals. Issues? Waitress. Enough said. Although she was nice, she seems to be into too many different things. After we got our food we were pretty much on our own. Luckily I didn't need a refill, but another in our party did. He had to walk up to the corner of the counter that leads to the kitchen to get her attention. To make things more frustrating, once she finally finished whatever she was doing in the back that kept her from attending to anyone she made her way out to two different tables talking to people she apparently knew for the last 15 or so minutes we were there. At no point did she ever look in our direction. When we got tired of waiting for the check, we just stood at the register until someone saw us. All in all, sad way to ruin an otherwise great restaurant.

My spouse and I along with my father ate at Brumley's for the holiday buffet. I was a bit disappointed about certain parts of the food and seating arrangements. First of all I was hoping to sit in one of the well styled dining rooms instead of being seated at a folding table with folding chairs chair in the hallway. The buffet consisted of raw trout, shrimp, seafood chowder that was too creamy for me to eat, salad table with lots of fixings, prime rib, roast beef, chicken cordon blue, sides included Mac and cheese, roasted potatoes, broccoli, and collared greens. They had rolls and butter. The dessert table had chocolate and red velvet cake slices along with frosted cookies. My chicken was very dry. I would have liked some other options such as a turkey, ham or even roasted chicken instead. The chocolate cake was very moist but also very rich. I couldn't finish it as the icing was too thick. Unless changes are made I will not attend the next holiday buffet. Not sure if it's worth $60 per person.
