I turned on my furnace this year and it didn't work - again. So I called another company to look at my furnace this time. I was told that the ignitor put in last March was the wrong voltage - that it was an 80V instead of 120V. After doing some research I discovered that the 120V was the correct voltage because the furnace's board was replaced (by Billy) in December; otherwise the 80V would have been correct. Seemed like an honest mistake, so I called Billy to ask him to install the correct part. Instead of apologizing for installing the wrong part, he took no responsibility for the error. He said it was an honest mistake that he was given the wrong part. I agreed, but explained that I shouldn't have to pay for the same service again because he installed the wrong part and that he should make it right. By this time, he was SHOUTING at me over the phone that it wasn't his fault and that it was over the 30 day labor warranty. He was yelling at me and acting as though I was being unreasonable by asking him to install the correct part. He finally yelled that if it would "appease" me, I could send him the bill for the labor for the repairs and he would reimburse me for the labor. That I could send the wrong part that he installed back to the parts company as it was under warranty. By this time I told him I didn't like how he was speaking to me and hung up. It is inconceivable to me that an HVAC professional would install the wrong part and then become angry when asked to correct his mistake. I would recommend that you use another company if you need HVAC work and ensure that they stand by their work. People make mistakes, we all do, but how you react in those instances is a matter of character. Billy reacted poorly.

I think this speaks volumes about the company. They closed my claim without finishing the repair or my knowledge. The service call record (as in the email below) indicates they looked at my right oven (I have a double oven), but it was the left oven with the issue. I was present when the service tech was there. He quickly diagnosed the issue (I believe he said it was a faulty ignition pan that was firing to early, and said he would need to order a new one). The truth is that this company has trouble following through with service calls. They've wasted enough of my time with Pro-serve, but I suggest you never let them start wasting yours. The owner gave my husband a couple of tips to fix it, but it never worked for more than 5 minutes at a time. We tried to get him to come out, but a family emergency pulled him to California for over a month. Understandable. We got someone else to come out and take a look, and they said that the pipe was wrong, but it was gonna cost $500 on top of the service fee to fix it. We finally got the owner of B&M to contact us again, after I left an angry voicemail, and a bad yelp review. He said he would come out on the Monday (of the snowstorm) to fix it. He showed up at 8/9 pm, saying that he had a "no heat" call in Lake Oswego. That did bug me, as we had been without consistent heat for 3 months, and with two small children and the snow, I felt like perhaps that should have been a priority. However, I get that he runs a business and wanted to put paying customers first. When he finally got to our house he took a look and said that there was something wrong with the "pressure switch". Turns out it is a safety switch. If the gases cannot exhaust correctly it shuts everything down. That is what would happen, the gas would kick on and immediately shut off. He blamed the switch and wanted me to give him another $120 for coming out. My husband told him no way in hell will we give him another dime and if you assess it is something else, We'd pay another company to do it. There is a draft tool that most HVAC people would use to make sure the draft out is correct, he did not even use one. In the end my husband took a hack saw to the pipe in the garage and turned on the heater and it worked. That told him there was something wrong with the run. Turns out the HVAC manual is very specific on the amount of 90 degree elbows that can be used and whether or not you use two or three inch pvc. Due to the length of the run, it appears 3 inch was required to resolve the exhaust issue and make the pressure switch happy.

Then I needed help relighting the lines to my various appliance (water heater, fireplace, etc.) I am disabled and his assistance was greatly appreciated. I have had multiple chest and lung surgeries due to an auto accident in 2016 which have left me with chronic pain and limited mobility While attempting to relight my water heater, it was clear I needed a new one. It was the original one which was installed in the attic space of my home almost 20 years ago. The tank was living on borrowed time. There was one big snag. The space to get up into the attic was less than 20 inches. The old water heater was about 22 to 24 inches in diameter. So it now sits in a corner of the attic. Most current models are between 20 and 24 inches in diameter. Billy was able to find another tank (we couldn't do tankless) which was 18 inches and could safely fit into the attic. However, it was in Tacoma. I live in Fairview OR. The trip was between 1.5 and 2 hours one way. He took the time to go to Tacoma and get the unit rather than ordering it and having it delivered, which would have meant another 1 to 2 days of taking cold showers. Literally! On the afternoon of the 20th, he arrived around 3 pm with the new unit. His fellow contractor, had already been at the home draining the tank, which took about an hour. The most time consuming part of installing a new water heater. He finished up around 5pm before he had to leave for an emergency water heater repair. Everything was wrapped up and ready to go. An hour later I had hot water again. Thank you for all your hard work and going above and beyond all expectations. I will be using Billy again to install a new AC unit in a few weeks. After my back patio (concrete) has been installed.

Martin is always so easy to talk to and he takes the time to explain what caused the HVAC issues, he fixes the issue quickly, and the prices are incredibly reasonable. Homeownership can be an extreme sport sometimes where you feel like you are constantly fixing this item and that item, especially as the house ages. But having Absolute Heating and Cooling as a teammate I can call when something happens to my HVAC means I don't have to waste time pre-worrying about it, because I know they will be able to fix it right away.
