I only came to the 5th Street Target because it was the only place that had what I needed,a simple pen for black label for homemade gifts. I came against my better judgment, and honestly, I wish I hadn't. First off, the parking is a mess. You have to park in the garage and get validation to avoid paying $7. There's no handicap parking right in front of the elevator entrance either, which makes things way harder than it should be. I could have used street parking but didn't feel like being hassled by the men that wait in front of the store. Once I got inside, I started noticing a man, Hispanic, curly hair, maroon shirt, no name badge walking past me multiple times in different sections. First in the makeup aisle, then again when I moved to another area, and again a third time. It really felt like he was watching me, not shopping. He made me super uncomfortable. I was using the Target app to scan items and make sure I was getting the right prices. Just trying to get in and out quickly because, truth be told, I've been avoiding Target for a while now. When I checked out, one of my items rang up higher than what the app said. I went to Guest Services, showed the price on my phone, and was told I must've grabbed the wrong thing. I hadn't, I scanned it myself before adding it to my cart. All this over a few markers. I'm sticking with my boycott. I came here trying to support my own project and left feeling watched, dismissed, and frustrated.

Plenty of keyboards, mice, headphones, laptops, desktops, game pads, plushies, you name it. Certain displays have a secondary shelf underneath that may have additional variants to them. Staff were super friendly and quite helpful. Technically, I have a 14-year old Deathadder mouse of theirs, and one of the staff members whipped open a drawer or two to show me their current selection of wired mice, wireless mice, and ergonomically shaped mice. Later on, I was toying around with one of their keyboards that have an attached display, and he demoed configuring the controls in their Synapse software for either controlling keyboard settings or as an additional input to the OS. Finally, in the back there is small gaming demo area and what seems to be a small cyber cafe. It seems they may host certain small session gaming or esports events. In terms of value, the store carries Razer products at various price points. The products are clearly labeled and price tags are easy to read.

Recently I noticed that Razer had a storefront presence (while I was in Vegas)- little did we know they have one in Austin too! We were visiting The Domain mall to go to the Museum of Ice Cream but decided to shop around a bit afterwards. The store itself isn't huge in terms of square footage, but it's an apt size for the amount of product available for in-store purchase. The inside looks and feels just like an Apple store, if an Apple store had "dark mode" enabled, LOL. There were tables with fun electronic trinkets (like keyboards and headphones and video game controllers, etc.) that you could pick up, handle, and sample at your leisure. There was also a divided wall toward the back that separated the space a little bit so you could go sit in their gaming chairs and play for a bit on the PC set-ups they had. Nifty! There were also a solid number of employees working inside if you needed help with anything. One of the employees, she/they (might have been NB, she/they were cool) approached us to ask if we needed any assistance or had any questions, and was happy to joke around and be friendly while we made a purchase (nothing expensive, just a plush snek- if you know, you know!). If you like Razer products too, I recommend stopping by. Gets you around paying shipping!
