How do you tell the person that got screwed over, paid 75 for a service, that they have to drive for an hour to pick up their SIM card that the EMPLOYEE CARELESSLY didn't put back into the phone, "oh my fault" AND GIVE THEM A RANDOM SIM CARD WHEN THEY COME TO THE STORE PREVENTING THEM FROM HAVING SERVICE. I told the cashier this and asked if they could help, being careful not to touch the power button. I visited Quick Phone Repair on 7/24 to get the screen on my iPhone 16 Pro replaced after it got…read morecracked on the corner. I called ahead to get a quote for their screen repair service and was told that the "premium" screen repair option would be $140 so I opted for that. I arrived, showed my phone's damage, and waited approximately 30 minutes for the repair which was all expected. What I didn't expect was the state of my phone once it was finished: the phone was overheating significantly and there were large black spaces around the display itself. Essentially, the display of the screen didn't come near to touching the actual corners of my phone. I asked the guy if this was normal and he shrugged his shoulders and said that it was. I asked if it would've been a different outcome had I gone to Apple and he just said that he could order an Apple screen replacement for me but that it would cost me another $350 + tax. I left extremely disappointed but I still paid initially trusting that the result was normal. After leaving the store, I went to a different one (iFixFast off of Old Wake Forest Road - amazing!) to ask for a second opinion. The man there told me I was given one of the cheapest screens on the market, that the overheating and black spaces were not normal, and that the screen itself was unusually thicker than it should be. I had him replace the original guy's work and my phone was back to normal--no overheating or black spaces around the display! Do not go to Quick Phone Repair unless you want to overpay for shoddy work. Worst experience ever.
