I've been living at Crestview Apartments for about a year and a half now, and it has really been fantastic so far. I believe one of the most striking features of these apartments is the square footage you get for the price. You would be hard pressed to find a 1-bedroom between 700-950 square feet for less than what is charged here on the peninsula or in this area, ask me how I know!! The units also have ample closet space (my 1 bedroom has FOUR closets (not even including the kitchen storage) and a large lockable carport storage box. In addition, the kitchens here are huge with more storage space than you'll know what to do with (usually apartments at this price range have the opposite problem). The community is also well maintained with great landscaping + the entire community received a fresh coat of paint in the summer and fall of '23. Maintenance requests are also a breeze and anything you request gets taken care of relatively quickly! The cherry on top is definitely the management. Jennifer, Ane, and Kelly are extremely responsive to all questions and problems we have, not to mention accommodating and understanding when it comes to getting other things worked out. They are the best! My only complaint is that there is no W/D in most of the units, but for the price that is not surprising! Echoing what I said above, you are not finding a unit with W/D with this square footage in this area for less than $2,500 unless your mom's friend's cousin cuts you a deal on their second property . Anyway, big takeaways are that the units here are huge, the community is well maintained, and the management is fantastic. Save yourself some time and check this place out! PS, for the cat lovers out there, they only charge a one time $1,000 per deposit for the entire time you live there (for up to two cats). In my apartment search I saw no other place that does this, usually you have to pay $50-$100 extra per pet per month. Yes it hurts up front, but it saves you a ton of money in the long run! RODENTS IN OUR UNIT well... adding this review after trying to resolve issue for 10 days. You can be the judge. March 20 - heard some squeaks in kitchen March 23 - installed cameras and caught mouse on camera and informed landlord March23 - pest control put in rats, No further inspection done March 24 - Found the rat again, called maintanence. They found a big hole after pulling out the Oven/refrigerator on our request and sealed it. No further inspection done March 28 - Found droppings in the apartment and requested for pest-control/help. March 29-April 1 - Multiple followups and no one showed up April 2 - Cameras caught rat movements and called emergency line. Maintenance came in and patched more holes behind counters after we requested to check under dishwasher and refrigerator again April 3 - Found droppings in our living room next to baby play area. ------ISSUE NOT RESOLVED YET----- At this point decided to move out soon and started searching for new place... I was told that pest inspection guys cannot come until tomorrow. It has become a health safety hazard and moving to a hotel until pest control shows up. No one from management is willing to talk over the weekend. Apparently they are too busy than dealing with health safety issues. Crest View Apartments is perfect for someone who is looking for a quiet, clean suburban getaway from the city life. Nestled in between San Francisco and San Jose, the apartment complex is a very short distance from the SFO airport (12 min drive). It's conveniently located between 2 Caltrain Station - Belmont Station (1 min drive) + Hillsdale Station (2 min drive). Just around the corner is the grocery + shopping center (3 min drive). Inside of the apartment you'll find a cozy, spacious living area, kitchen, closets, bathroom, and patio. Compared to other complexes, your money goes further here when you consider the amount of SQFT provided. What makes this place special is the Leasing Manager, Jennifer Sevillia. She is very responsive, friendly, and caring. Overall, I'd definitely move back to the Crest View Apartments if I still lived in the Bay Area. Note: the water, trash, sewer (~$100+) is added to your rent + there's noise reduction walls (never heard my neighbors). read more

Crestview apartments has been a great place to live. We have lived in Crestview apartments for a long time over 10 years and we had a pleasant stay. The apartments are very clean & spacious and have convenient access to Restaurants, schools, downtown, airport etc. All the maintenance service requests were promptly taken care on time. The current manager Jennifer is a kind and really a helpful person. While moving out she helped us to get the checklist of things to be cleaned and also provided few recommendations. We got our full security deposit refunded. We have always felt that the apartment is very safe and very accessible to all places. We would definitely recommend this apartment to others. read more

I've lived in Crest View Apartment for around 7 years now. My experience so far has been pleasant, with respect to maintenance services, cleanliness and privacy. It is located close to the SFO Airport, and almost midway between SF and San Jose, which is an added convenience. I have moved and have been living in Bay Area for 3+ years and Jennifer is the best manager I've ever met. She is so helpful and so nice, helping with anything I was asking for. All the staff members are super friendly and fast. It is really nice to live there! After moving out, they will give a list that you need to take care of and I only got charge a little amount of cleaning fee - most of my deposit went back to me. Compare to lots of leasing office trying their best to take all of your deposit, Crestview is sincere and honest. read more

We lived in this company for 10 months in 2015-16. Our stay was pleasant. But we had horrible financial experience after leaving the property when we moved to India. While leaving the apartment, the property manager had visited our home, and had not suggested anything particular. We had hired a professional cleaner to clean our apartment and was given in the best clean condition. We had immediately moved to India. After 15 or so days, we recieved invoice of $1000 +. We were taken a back. Carpet cleaning charge was acceptable as there were some spots done by our toodler. However, what wae malicious is they charged whole apartment's painting cost on us, stating reason " Some Odor was coming from the apartment." After 15 days of leaving US, how can we come to see odor. We found their reason baseless and totally false. Being in India, we couldn't do anything but make payment. Please be aware of such scams. read more

Amber is the worst person I've ever met, let alone a professional. She is a duplicitous, two-faced person and is openly rude to tenants. You won't see this until you sign the lease and pay the deposit, of course. Crestview might have a new manager now, but make no mistake, either the landlord has terrible judgement in employees, or, more likely, the landlord is rotten as well. The management told me the 15% increase in rent was going toward higher property taxes. What a joke. They like to say they're a family-owned business since the 1970s. Go read about Prop 13 and tell me how much property tax the landlord's paying. They're already making money hand over fist, and yet they add additional water and sewage costs with almost no warning. Read your lease. Better yet, don't move here. They used to have reasonable month-to-month arrangements after the first lease, which worked for them for the longest time, but now they try to lock you in. Why? They're fleecing you because they can. That's all. read more

This is the only apartment I have had a good experience with in the Bay Area. They were always good about fixing maintenance requests. They were very straightforward about what needed to be cleaned or fixed before I moved out and I got every cent of my deposit back. Even my cat liked the management team. The only drawback to this place was the proximity to the Caltrain made it noisy at night, but I actually got used to that. I'm currently dealing with a landlord that allowed construction workers to go in my closet and move all my things without my permission. I know Crestview would not allow this to happen. Move in feedback: we were told by Amber(the property manager) that concrete is between the floors- that you can't hear anything from the above unit. So we signed a lease. No joke, within hours of us moving in we could hear stomping above, music,and eve had the privilege of listening to the person above us use the toilet and flush. Gosh- must be some great concrete or as Amber stated- they must be trying really hard to make noise. Completely dishonest. If we could break our lease and move- we would. I am highly disappointed. We left a noisy complex hoping for a bit of serenity only to have a possibly found a worse complex. She stated have never received a complaint. Well then, this may be the first. read more

I was a short term (2.5 months) renter at this complex and absolutely loved it. It is a great value for a 900 sq. ft 1 bedroom place. The complex is clean, the laundry rooms are great, with easy access to 101, Caltrain, grocery stores, etc. The new manager, Jennifer is fantastic in her follow through and overall attention to the needs of the renters. read more

I lived in this apartment for over 7 years (from 2003-2010). Other than close to work this apartment doesn't have any advantages. New manager Mr. Hamilton is very rude, he returned only $124 from my deposit of $900. Explanation he gave is that there were some traces of pencil markings on the walls, which I laboriously spent 5 hrs for cleaning. Laundry rooms are very dirty and they changed the washers in the laundry room from top loading to front loading, which accommodate 50% of load which it used to do with top loading. 75% of the machines will always be under repair or don't work. When you inform machine breakdown to the manager, he suggests to call the laundry repair service (number sticked to the machine) directly. New manager Mr. Hamilton is very lazy and unresponsive to complaints, most of the time it goes to answering machine or to some customer center, but he's very active in stealing your money with false reports. read more

DO NOT LIVE HERE! Crestview is only occupied because folks are desperately in need of housing. My husband reported a smoker who constantly smokes near our apartment. They did nothing about it and referred us to another agency. But this is not just a smoking problem because the smoker leaves cigarette butts everywhere and I see small toddlers picking them up and try to eat it. I feel sorry for the parents. One day, one of these cigarette butts will start a fire and there's going to be a lawsuit. All the stories that our former neighbors have been telling us are similar: the manager, Jack, will just come up with bogus cleaning charges when you move out. He's real nice to you in front of your face then when you are at your new address, you receive only a small portion of your security deposit. One person asked for pictures or some evidence that validated the charges. He will never give you any. Do you love to pay exorbitant rent? Or donating your security deposit? How about no response when you complain about something? Crestview is perfect for you!! read more

Shame on the owners for letting Jack Hamilton take over as manager. I've talked to my friends in the Bay Area and a few have been very fortunate in that their rent have not been greatly affected even though the prices around them have spiked. Their owners and managers chose not to worship the almighty dollar and "jack" up rent for profit. Crest View has pretty much run every longtime tenant out of this complex by exponentially increasing rent and not allowing tenants to renew leases at reasonable rates. If you can find anyone that's lived here for more than 5 years, ask them how much rent has increased. Several tenants have told me they were paying about $1200 for a 1BR as recent as 2010 or 2011. Fast forward just five years and rent has just about DOUBLED. If you've rented anywhere else, can you imagine your rent doubling in five years? If you were in Kentucky renting a place for $500, could you imagine paying $1000 after five years? Or even in Manhattan, paying $3000 for a place, could you imagine paying $6000 later? While I understand the need to make profit while it is available, is it necessary to do so at the cost of those people who loyally supported you for so many years? Just a few years ago, I knew tenants in this complex that had lived here for DECADES. Twenty plus years. Now, most tenants I see haven't even lived here a year. And many treat the facility like a hotel rather than a home. Like someone else mentioned, there has been very little rationalization for raising rent at the rate they do. Does the property look twice as good since 2011? Absolutely not. One day, this bubble will burst. And when that day comes, karma will come to bite these guys on the behind. read more

I've been living here for about 3 years now and cannot wait to move out. The landlord and manager are very greedy. They've raised the rent several times and continue to attribute it to operating costs. BS. They're just making themselves richer. There is absolutely no improvement on anything. They're just pocketing the money. Laundry machines and dryers eat your quarters and never get fixed. They claim there's a heated pool and it's barely heated (probably saving money). They use cheap material and things break, but they like to say that they use great material. I've had two neighbors move out and tell me later that they nitpick every small thing to charge you for so they can make more money. I have friends in the area who tell me that their rent has not gone up and the only ones who are raising it are the ones that are greedy. When my lease expired, I requested to renew it and they refused because they knew they could continue to raise my rent. The only reason to refuse the renewal of a lease is because you want to be greedy and make more money. If you do laundry, keep an eye on it. If it doesn't disappear or the dryer doesn't burn it, then someone will throw it on the side if you are not back exactly when it is done. read more
