It was exciting reading the 5-star reviews and seeing photos of the beautiful apartments. We contacted SkylinePMG to inquire, and they worked with us and our move-in schedule. From that moment on we felt like family. The property managers Kay, Bruce, and Kash really care about their tenants and take amazing care of us and the property. The building maintenance crew are very quick to respond to any issues: Either a major appliance needing repair or a minor faucet adjustment, you can count on a fast response and quality work! Two-plus years later in this wonderful apartment we've called home, we have always felt taken care of and a welcome part of the community. This is a place where your neighbors say "Hello" and you have the chance to make good friends - like the members of The Cat Sitters Club, which we formed using posts on the Community Bulletin Board. We've also enjoyed the maintained Community Garden in the courtyard that was started by the property managers for the tenants. The garden has produced fresh vegetables, fruits, and herbs. You get so many benefits from living here. They even installed charging stations in the parking lot for electric vehicles after they saw a need. If we weren't retiring and moving out of the country, we would never leave El Dorado. If there's an apartment available, try your best grab it before someone else does!

Unfortunately, we had to end our lease early due to a new job requiring relocation, but we were so happy with our short time here. It was peaceful at night and the doors and windows, when closed, drowned out the noise from the street very well. Our neighbors on both sides were quiet. We could hear our upstairs neighbor's footsteps, but it wasn't unbearable. Andrea does a really good job of maintaining the complex and ensuring that it is safe and secure. She's also super easy to work with and made the inquiring and signing process easy. We actually signed the lease without viewing in person so that says a lot about the great impression we had of the apartment complex! We can only speak for our unit, but it was clean, spacious, renovated, and had more than enough space for 2 people. Good location, would recommend to friends and family. We were quite sad to leave!

I moved out of this complex a couple months ago, and it was the best decision I have ever made…read more What an absolute nightmare this place was. Everything was constantly broken, and management couldn't afford to fix anything. It has the facade of luxury living, but it is actually run like an old motel. We can begin with the laundry room with two washers and two dryers for 40 people... one of which was broken and never repaired for weeks. Tons of my clothing was ruined by this 1980's setup. The doors to the stairwell are so heavy that they shake the entire corridor and building when they open and close. Not to mention that the walls are so thin and poorly constructed, I could hear my neighbor ripping the bong at all hours of the night. Good riddance ! And goodbye !

I too saw poor online reviews of Ryan Tower before moving in, but chose to give the building the…read morebenefit of the doubt. Needless to say, I deeply, deeply regret the decision. Even if I could stay at Ryan Tower for a year for free, I'm not sure that I would. I want to document our experience so that it may help you in your decision-making. Our problem started from the beginning due to management's overpromising / misrepresentation. The apartment we got was in extremely poor conditions -- in sharp contrast to the photos/videos we received from management via email. We had to delay our move-in by almost a month while they worked to get another unit ready. We scrambled to find temporary housing solutions and storage space for our furniture . After moving in, the building has persisting plumbing issues. The toilet in our guest room constantly leaked waste water. It was disgusting. The maintenance crew came no less than 4 times and the issue was never resolved. We also had a leak from the ceiling that was never fixed -- after a few hours of heavy rain, water started leaking through the walls and from the ceiling of the bedroom. The maintenance team came to seal the ceiling with tapes, promising to return to fix the issue. They never did, and we had to remove the tapes ourselves after the rain stopped. Other reviews mentioned construction noise, which is also our experience. Any time there's construction on the same or adjacent floors, the noise makes it difficult to take work calls at home. The nightmare did not end after we moved out. We installed some paintings on the wall, and I suggested to management that we'd pay for a handyman to patch up the holes and get a professional cleaner to do the move-out cleaning. They assured me that it's cheaper to deduct the charges from our security deposits. Busy with our move, I returned the key to let Ryan Tower handle the cleaning. One month later, I got a call from a debt collection agency notifying me that we owe Ryan Tower money and our credit scores will be impacted. We received NO communication -- via email or mail -- from Ryan Tower. In fact, I was expecting my residual deposits to be returned to me, not to be charged an additional amount that become "uncollectible debt" that will drastically reduce our credit scores. Needlessly to say, this will set our home ownership plan back by years in an already difficult market in the Bay Area. Why did we put up with Ryan Tower for a year despite the terrible experience along the way? Honestly, I think we were just too naively trusting. We thought each problem was the last problem we'd face, and they were isolated events. But they are connected and point to the same root causes -- an old building with persisting issues that can't be fixed (without a complete redo), a management team focused on selling (window-dressing) rather than helping, and a transactional / zero-sum mentality. We said hi to the building manager and facility team every time we saw them. Being nice & considerate tenants who always paid a few days early earned us no brownie points. In fact, it didn't prevent Ryan Tower from inflicting serious harms on us. Thanks for reading. I hope my feedback will at least help some avoid making the same mistakes I did. And if you want to take a leap of faith to live in Ryan Tower, I wish you good luck .

I'll start with this -- management and the team here are great people and do a great job at making…read moresure all of us tenants are satisfied. This review is strictly for the ownership group of Ryan Tower. The water is constantly being shut off, for often times most of the day, roughly every other week for "maintenance". I understand the building is old, but every other week is quite ridiculous. For how much this place charges for rent, the owners could easily do PERMANENT repairs instead of slapping a bandaid on it and causing constant inconveniences for its tenants on a weekly basis. You cannot classify yourself as "luxury apartments" with a rotting water system. Ownership, do the right thing and take care of this place. Oh and with the the remodeling of apartments -- if the noise (which is extremely loud making it impossible to work from home) affects any of the neighboring tenants, do the right thing and offer a discount on that months rent. We had construction going on for weeks and you can't even hear each other talk yet alone work. Again, the team working here is fantastic.

I believe one of the most striking features of these apartments is the square footage you get for the price. You would be hard pressed to find a 1-bedroom between 700-950 square feet for less than what is charged here on the peninsula or in this area, ask me how I know!! The units also have ample closet space (my 1 bedroom has FOUR closets (not even including the kitchen storage) and a large lockable carport storage box. In addition, the kitchens here are huge with more storage space than you'll know what to do with (usually apartments at this price range have the opposite problem). The community is also well maintained with great landscaping + the entire community received a fresh coat of paint in the summer and fall of '23. Maintenance requests are also a breeze and anything you request gets taken care of relatively quickly! The cherry on top is definitely the management. Jennifer, Ane, and Kelly are extremely responsive to all questions and problems we have, not to mention accommodating and understanding when it comes to getting other things worked out. They are the best! My only complaint is that there is no W/D in most of the units, but for the price that is not surprising! Echoing what I said above, you are not finding a unit with W/D with this square footage in this area for less than $2,500 unless your mom's friend's cousin cuts you a deal on their second property . Anyway, big takeaways are that the units here are huge, the community is well maintained, and the management is fantastic. Save yourself some time and check this place out! PS, for the cat lovers out there, they only charge a one time $1,000 per deposit for the entire time you live there (for up to two cats). In my apartment search I saw no other place that does this, usually you have to pay $50-$100 extra per pet per month. Yes it hurts up front, but it saves you a ton of money in the long run! I wish other complexes did it like this!

The repair men are on top of tickets submitted and fixing our issues in 1-2 days. Not to mention how friendly and hardworking the cleaning staff is. *Parking- 1 free garage parking spot, +$60/month additional gated parking spot, street parking is available, & lots of guest parking. *Pet friendly Cons: *Location- CalTrain is right behind the building. We are facing the street side and it is still fairly loud. However, I did get used to it after about 2 weeks. *Delivery- DoorDash has a difficult time finding units, usually have to meet them outside. Packages are delivered in a communal room (we have never had anything stolen yet, but we also get our packages right away) *Elevator- there is only one elevator per building. A little slow, I usually opt for the stairs *Utilities- None are included Despite the cons, so far I believe the pros highly outweigh!

When you want to reserve something like the theater, you have to submit a form, and I tried three different times and never had anyone accept my reservation. When you contact the team through their portal, I rarely got responses. Right up to the move out process where I scheduled a move out inspection twice and never had anyone show up at the confirmed time. That portal was, in general, useless. Unless I had an urgent maintenance problem, no messages I ever sent were responded to. I had water heater issues about halfway through my time there and when the plumber looked at it he called it "ancient". Replacing it dropped my utility bill by about 50 bucks a month, so I was apparently paying for their lack of modern equipment. They refused to add a second recycling dumpster, so it was always completely overflowing. Oh, and they also nickel and dimed me on the way out on my deposit.
