However, the GPS on our cart said we were eight minutes ahead and by the end of our 18th hole we were 27 minutes ahead according to their carts and we were counseled by the Ranger and the people behind us were hitting into us. Why would you put seven threesomes behind a foursome horrible course management the people behind the counter were rude and the Ranger was extremely rude. That is not what I payed $188.00 for. A group of old guys hitting into us, just a horrible experience. By the way. We finished out 18 holes in 3:40 minutes in my 30+ years of playing golf that's not slow. The corse was pretty and well maintained but their customer service sucked.

I play about 30-40 rounds of golf per season at 10 different courses. I play West Ottawa about 3-5…read moretimes a year. Outside of American Dunes which is under construction, It is the closest to me. Having a great experience there is about timing - avoiding busy times and league nights. I like West Ottawa when I just want to play a casual, low cost round and not make a big production out of it. Greens are better than you would expect, fairways are of basic level quality. The course design is not highly challenging, but it is a relaxing easy round. My biggest suggestion to all golf courses is to have golfers adhere to tee times. If I have an 11:20 tee time, I don't want to walk up to a line of people who are teeing off early.

Apparently, this place runs on atomic clock precision and zero common sense. I guess flexibility, customer service, and the ability to think like a human being don't come standard with your overpriced greens fees. It's almost impressive how fast they managed to ruin my afternoon -- world record pace, really. You'd think a golf course might understand the concept of a grace period, but no. Here, if you're not on the dot, you might as well be an hour late. If you enjoy being treated like a criminal for showing up 60 seconds behind schedule, this is the place for you. The first time I scheduled for 10am on a Friday to correspond with my wife's lesson, they rescheduled my slot for 10:30am and said I shouldn't have been able to schedule that time. Odd because their system allowed it. The second time I scheduled an hour for a Friday afternoon. During the book it said it was $35. a few days before my booking I got a notice that my slot was rescheduled for the same day and time, but they didn't say why. My wife and I got there and the server set us up and we used our slot. Then they brought the bill over and they charged us $50 for the hour! If they were switching prices we should have been told up front. I don't plan on using them again. I would rather pay more up front for a business that doesn't "bait and switch". A really poor experience.
