The Most Delicious Crepe Catering Outfit You Will Find in the Bay Area SITREP I had a wonderful opportunity to attend a gala event at the SOMArts Center in San Francisco this past week. Creperie Saint Germain Catering provided very delicious AND HEALTHY crepe choices! THE SETUP There were hundreds of people at this event, but Creperie St. Germain was clearly up to the task of providing scrumptious bite-sized crepes for people interested in mainly chatting, grazing a bit, and chatting more while looking at the beautiful art and listen to the wonderful music that was going on. THE MENU The crepe offerings were wonderful: * On the sweet side, there was a fantastic Nutella Strawberry Banana crepe that had well balanced proportions of filling-to-crepe so it was not messy at all to try to eat. * On the more savory side of the menu, there was a vegetable crepe with curry accents with the potatoes & cheese. Now SPECIAL MENTION to their Buckwheat Batter Crepes! In the last couple of years I have become a huge huge fan of Buckwheat because of it's decided health benefits, and I am so pleased to see that Creperie Saint Germain is using Buckwheat to such delicious advantage! CREPE EDUCATION I have to give a big shoutout to Rick & Amy in particular - and their whole Creperie Saint Germain team in general - who each and every one did such a great job of serving such a HUGE crowd! I appreciate Rick & Amy taking time to tell me about their business, the kinds of events they love doing, the food they really enjoy preparing for people and the like. I truly wish this outfit the very best. THE LOWDOWN If you want delicious, healthy French-style crepes in a variety of both different savory or sweet styles, then Creperie Saint Germain Catering is the outfit you are looking for!

savory crepe! (ham, mushrooms, tomatoes, spinach, green onions and cheese)

They recently catered lunch at my company and I really enjoyed their crepes! The crepe batter is buckwheat (and gluten-free) and pretty solid. For savory crepes, they had several options for meat: sausage, bacon, ham, turkey (and tofu for vegetarians). For vegetables, they had olives, mushrooms, spinach, tomatoes, green onions, and a few others that I forget. Of course, there's also cheese (mozzarella as far as I could tell)! The only thing I was disappointed about for the savory crepe was that they didn't put it on the griddle long enough, so some of the ingredients were still cold when I ate it (it's all precooked so no worries there, just would have liked it hot), but nothing a quick round in the microwave can't fix. I also got a sweet crepe which was delicious! For these, they had strawberries and bananas as fresh fruit toppings, as well as dark chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, caramel and Nutella as spreads. Of course you can also top it off with whipped cream or powdered sugar :) Overall, a great crepe lunch (plus dessert) and the catering team was also super friendly!

Creperie Saint Germain catered a Yelp get together in Saint Helena today and it was great! I had two of their crepes, one filled with lettuce, pesto, and tomatoes and the other was a banana and nutella crepe. The vege crepe was a bit of a let down due to the abundance of lettuce added, spent most of my time digging out the excess lettuce, but the crepe itself was very tasty. The sweet crepe with banana, nutella, and whipped cream was spot on in comparison to some European crepes I've had! Overall I would hands down order some of Saint Germain's crepes if I saw them at another party as they were quite tasty!

The bartender wasn't super busy either. The drinks were hit or miss, espresso martini they had on the menu is probably premade bc I asked to change the liquor and he said I wouldn't be getting the one that's on the menu. Tried the one on the menu and lowkey hated it, tastes watered down and bitter. Although I tried my friends "butterbeer" cocktail and omfg if you have to order something get that. It was so good. The mushroom slice was good too, though I wanted more mushroom flavor. They did ran out of most slices pretty fast so come early. Love that you can get whatever toppings on the slices too. The french onion dip was unexpectedly spicy and tasty, lots of garlic (I think). It leaned a little salty but was a nice bite. Honestly the whole menu sounded good but I was happy with my choices and very stuffed. I also had the banana biscoff pudding which was yum. I got a spicy vodka pie to go too which was great but not as good as the slices there (not about reheating but the flavors seemed slightly different). It's a pretty huge pizza - the box literally would not fit in my fridge. Made for a solid lunch plus more leftovers in the freezer. I also got a salted brown butter cookie to go which was good but I've had better and prefer my cookies a little chewier. But it was a huge cookie for $3 in a city where smaller similar cookies can be $5 so I appreciated that. Lots of wine and beer options and I appreciated that they had a bunch of N/A options. The crust is my favorite part -- it's thin (but not too thin), savory, and almost focaccia-like. The vodka sauce on the stracciatella pizza is balanced, and ingredients taste super fresh. Paired with a draft beer, this makes for a super well-rounded meal :^ ) I was also surprised I liked the burger as much as I did. The burger comes with a generously portioned, juicy patty and is paired with piping hot and well-salted fries. Would easily make many more visits to this establishment!

From the outside, The Beer Hall almost blended into its surroundings - I almost walked right by if it hadn't been for the neon "The Beer Hall" sign. The taproom is quite spacious and could accommodate several large groups; however, the night of our visit was relatively quiet, perhaps due to the cold weather. Since there weren't any large tables, our group spread out over three smaller tables. As people came and went throughout the evening, it was convenient that we could each order our own beer and food at the bar. I selected an IPA from Fieldwork, a local favorite, and the beer stayed cold and refreshing throughout the evening. The food menu was limited, but I was craving something warm and salty to pair with my beer. For nearly $10, the fries weren't cheap, but the plate was piled high with some of the best fries I've had in a while. They were served piping-hot alongside two dipping sauces - aioli and ketchup. My friends sitting around me couldn't resist them either, and the mountain of fries disappeared in record time. The servers at the bar were very friendly and checked in on our group often. We spent a few hours enjoying our conversation and beer, overall having a fun, laid-back evening.
