    Shrimp poboy.

It was a decent shrimp poboy! But for where the location is there's not many options around!

Hard to find a restaurant open on Sunday but this friendly joint saved us from fast food. Really, it was very slow food, but it tasted good and was provided in ample portions. Order the better food on the menu, like stuffed red fish, and share. The frickles were amazing. We got two orders. When they came to the table, we wondered if we had made a mistake (too much), but we cleaned those plates! Atmosphere fun. Relax into it and you'll love it. No free coffee refills.

    The Creole House Platter!

We stopped in between lunch and dinner so there was no one here during the week at that time. BUT..... this is exactly what I wanted and needed! I love the hole in the wall, local spots that have the true homemade food. There were several items on the menu that I had never heard of and needed an explanation for. After the explanation I could not resist but trying them. Sausage chips.... TRY THEM! the Roast beef cheese fries.... TRY THEM! this whole menu I am sure is amazing. Our waitress was a local that had great recommendations and helped us decide what to get.

    Seafood gumbo - amazing

This was a highlight on our trip across the county. The food was exceptional and the service was outstanding. My wife and I each had a soup and split the entree. This was a suggestion by our waitress and was dead on. The seafood platter we shared was huge and some of the best seafood I have had in a long time.

Great place to stop for a bite if out in the area seeing some plantations. A good selection of foods to fit most budgets and cravings. Service was attentive and friendly. About 25 minutes from oak alley and the Laura plantation.

    It's ok

Here on a Monday for lunch and stopped by after a plantation tour at Oak Valley. Service was good but the food was not something I would rave about. The Shrimp and Oyster PO Boys did not have the creole zest that you would expect from Louisiana Creole establishment. We also ordered the Creole House Burger with bacon, no bacon came when the order came it took them 10 minutes extra to get a manager to take it off the tab.

Food is good, but it's a buffet so never sure how to tip. What percentage do you tip for ringing you up?

When I found myself in the area again this week, I decided to give it a shot and relive that experience. What a change. Guess they were right. I remember a delicious crawfish étouffée that I had when I went the first time which is no longer on the menu. It's mostly just fried food and hamburgers. I ordered the overstuffed shrimp Poboy that the woman said was the most popular item on the menu. It was overstuffed all right, but the shrimp were hard as rubber and tasted like they had been cooked in week old oil. It was an hour before closing so maybe that was it but that is not an excuse. I'll still think about that delicious crawfish étouffée that I had years and years ago, and try my hardest to forget this terrible meal. The Poboy itself was around $15 and the fries were two dollars extra. To their credit, they were crinkly fries, which are always my favorite and they were delicious. I wish I would've never went back and kept my memories, but I did. Perhaps I'll give it another shot one day. I hear the gumbo is good, which was the special of the day, but it was too hot for that all the day I went. Lots of interesting things inside, it looks like a roadside attraction almost. I can't understand why there's not more restaurants in this area as they are several plantations that people most likely go to visit and would likely decide to have lunch somewhere. Almost anything would blow this one out the water. I still dig the ambience. The alligator dressed in a chef suit, the interesting painting on the bathroom wall, the old country/Cajun feel but aside from that, what happened, B & C Seafood?

Didn't have time so I got it to go but maybe should have dine in. Cool place. Everything else was pretty good. Got some 5.99 ziplock bag head-on shrimp to go as well as some frozen crawfish gumbo. N 2.99 pork rinds which tasted old. Cool folks here. Would dine in next time for other foods.

You are served hot French bread with real butter immediately. The cup of corn shrimp bisque was delicious and full of nice size shrimp. Seasoned perfectly. The salad comes with your meal. It is a very nice portion. My main meal was the wonderful crawfish cornbread topped with fried fish and crawfish etouffee. Such a large portion, I had to bring leftovers home. Jasmine surprised me with the white chocolate bread pudding to take home as a thank you. Very nice casual dining area. Beautiful bar. Decorated with local art you can purchase. The whole staff was very welcoming. I will be back. Thank you Jasmine, for such a wonderful experience!

I would recommend calling to make reservations because they have weird hours, but other than that, everything else was good when I first sat down I got the lemon berry martini and it was so smooth and sweet, but not overly sweet. Out of all the restaurants that I've been to no other restaurant has a lemon berry martini like this one and it was very good. I then got the crawfish cornbread with grilled fish, mashed potatoes and green beans and that was very good as well. The crawfish cornbread was seasoned very well along with the mashed potatoes and green beans the crawfish corn bread is so big so be prepared to bring some home! I did order dessert and I ordered the white chocolate bread pudding and when I tell you, it comes to the table smoking hot, which is a good thing, but it was very good and warm. Literally, we did not finish eating it, but it was still warm whenever we put it in the to go box. It was not overly powering, sweet or anything or soggy. It was perfect. It was literally baked to perfection! I truly loved the vibe of the place. There was live music playing when my mom and I got there and we both really enjoyed it our waitress Alyssa was amazing! She was so nice and so patient and so helpful with the both of us I cannot wait to go back to the grapevine. It was very good and I would definitely recommend to anybody that is in or close by Donaldsonville, Louisiana.
