Karrie, the owner, innkeeper extraordinaire, chef, driver, travel agent, and woman known about town, must have spent no fewer than 40 hours planning and taking care of us. She booked us in the LV suite with fine linens, pillows, towels, robes, and bath products surrounded by tasteful antiques and a balcony looking over some of her gardens. The quiet and romantic setting created a perfect getaway for us. We enjoyed breakfast on the front porch with fresh-pressed coffee, homemade local berry scones. In four wonderful days, Karrie introduced us to each of the 6 wine regions! Just off the plan in Walla Walla, we started in the Airport District. The GG is a short walk from the Downtown District where we dined each evening in a gastronomic delight of restaurants and flavors and wines of course. Karrie packed lunches for us with private reservations of some of the finest wineries. We experienced the regional "terroirs" of the Districts in the Westside, Southside, the Rocks of Milton-Freewater AVA in Oregon, and finally on the Westside before heading back to the airport. She privately engaged us with local artists and the winemakers with private tours. This may sound busy, but the experience was relaxing and memorable. Walla Walla is a must for wine lovers, but Karrie made all the difference in creating a tailor-made holiday for us Texans! Patrick Choosing to stay at the GG netted us a highly personalized first visit to Walla Walla. Karrie went to great lengths to ensure our experience was superiorly comfortable and she homed in on our preferences and desires to elevate and enhance our "jouissance" in delectable wines and exceptional dining experiences. The home, nestled on a shady tree-lined street, beckoned for strolls after breakfast or a quick walk to town to visit Walla Walla's finest shops. La vie est bonne! Lily

The place itself is an up-cycled old motel - the design is pleasing and usable and there's lots of unique touches that are fun to explore. We liked the free parking and friendly staff, and also enjoyed the design of the king rooms. They offer local wine at check-in which is a nice touch. The only downside is the street noise and noise from other rooms is loud and distracting. Would love a bit of sound proofing, but people aren't usually in Walla Walla to sleep.

The beds were comfortable, the place was spotlessly clean, the kitchen was incredible and had everything I had in my own kitchen plus a lot more. The slippers by the door were a quaint touch. One of our number locked his keys in his car, and was saved by a fully equipped toolbox in the house. Strongly recommend!

We have also stayed in the Carriage House, Hayloft, and Chicken Coup. They are all wonderful and unique with their own styles. Each has so many special personal touches. Abeja's innkeeper, Mary, is who makes the magic happen! She greets each guest with a smile and warmth as though they are an old friend. During breakfast, Mary stops by each table and sits and chats with her guests. She is a wealth of information about Abeja and the Walla Walla area. Mary's kitchen and housekeeping staff are just as welcoming and attentive. I'm sure it's very busy behind the scenes, but all you feel is peace and relaxation. That says a lot! The attention to detail is amazing at Abeja. You would never have this serene experience at a chain hotel. If you need a bottle or more of Abeja's impressive wine, you will have it hand delivered to your place. The grounds at Abeja are gorgeous. We love strolling down to the creek below and sitting on the patio above. Next to the patio is the cutest courtyard garden. On cooler nights, the firepit is a gathering place to get to know the other guests and have a glass of wine. The 2 grassy areas are great to sit and enjoy the scenery. The accommodations at Abeja are top notch. The grounds are top notch. Mary and her staff are top notch. Each breakfast is deliciously top notch. The wine is top notch. Zero Stars. So Embarrassed by Sandy's U Rent on my wedding day! Neither management nor the owner…read morehimself seemed to find anything wrong with the fact that we spent over $600 at their divey establishment, only to receive no customer service whatsoever, and a product not even suitable for use in a wedding. Nevermind the fact that we were not informed that candle wax on a tablecloth was considered irrepairable damage, or that the linens themselves were musty... what I found most disgusting/ mortifying was the condition of their rental chairs. This business charged my family $2.00 per unit for rental chairs that were completely dirty! They were not even suitable for use when my father arrived at the store to pick them up. Sandy's U Rent stores their rental items in a detached shack at the back of their dirty store. When the chairs arrived at our wedding site, both my mother, my mother-in-law-to-be, my fiance, my sister, my father, and several other of my family members spent more than 2 hours wiping them down with Windex. My mother in law spent nearly the entire afternoon cleaning those chairs that she had very little time to dress for the wedding. I was humiliated! The Manager- Toni- offered my mother a $50 credit to her bill that totaled more than $600. When my mother contacted Les, the owner, to inform him of the situation, he stated that he considered the offer generous- as he would have offered NOTHING. This is the most insulting merchant I have ever had to conduct business with. Apparently for 45 years, they've stayed in business selling latex balloons and paper mache pinatas.
