When I called, the receptionist was very odd. I asked about the average cost to neuter a cat and she said there's absolutely no way to tell without paying $75 for a consultation. I responded by saying, "That's a little weird, you don't know the price range for the procedure?" Only then did she let me know it costs $500-$1,000+. It felt gross to know that she (and/or the vet) is trying to squeeze money from potential and retuning clients instead of giving honest and upfront answers for the health of the pets that are possibly brought to them. This practice has changed for the worse since my pups were their clients. Their profit motive obviously surpasses their love of animals.

For context, there is nothing wrong with my dog. Even $700 later after the tests they added on for no real reason, they came back and said my dog is healthy. I already knew that! I went in for a rabies shot and left without my rent money because no one showed me any numbers until I was about to leave. Absolutely ridiculous. Have some courtesy and show people what they are in for BEFORE running all the unnecessary tests. Most of us don't have an extra $700 laying around.

Right from the get go, Michelle in the front office was SO helpful - she was able to get us an appointment to bring all 3 dogs in at once and also called our previous vet offices to get all of their records beforehand. Our dogs are typically not HUGE fans of the vet (i.e. one of them shakes uncontrollably the second we set foot inside of any vet office) but I think that Dr. Lane has some major good vibes, because all 3 did great! He was very knowledgeable and took the time to ask questions about all our dogs and give us advice on past medical problems one of them had. Melissa the Vet Assistant was also wonderful and helped our dogs brave a few vaccines and lab tests during our visit. I let everyone know that he does and would need a muzzle to make the process go a little smoother. I felt terrible the whole time and I know it was comfortable for him. The doctor walks in and tells me to hold him by the collar to look at his eyes all this while my dog is flipping out, overstimulated from a man trying to walk toward him. He said that he does have an eye infection and wants to put medication in his eyes. I said I'll do it at home as I already had dogs that have special eye drops. He looked at me like I must be crazy or something. He then proceeded to say "you should get your dog trained" I'm sorry what??? Do not tell me that I should get my dog trained when you don't know anything about him and are trying to hold him and force medication in his eyes. Kept nagging about getting him trained and gave me a business card. I would like to point out I train my dog everyday and take him to a training facility where they know what I need to do to help my dog. My dog is fine but I think it's the doctor that needs to get educated on how to handle dogs cause he clearly doesn't.
