Dr. George was very thorough in trying to figure out what was going on with her. Unfortunately, it was our sweet cat's time to go to heaven. Christina, the Director of Mohnacky was so kind and compassionate. If it weren't for her, we probably wouldn't have brought our cat back in, and she would have suffered. Christina helped us through the most painful time for our family. She let us have the room with our sweet kitty as long as we needed, before and after the end of life treatment. They sedated him bcuz he was stressed and then handed me a dog with little to no instructions except "if his tongue turns blue get him to an emergency vet". He's a French bulldog and if anyone knows this breed, they have a really hard time coming out of sedation. Theo was OUT! He wasn't eating or drinking so I kept calling to ask questions since I was never given any after care instructions (minus the "if his tongue turns blue takes him to an emergency vet"). Monday it started, by THURSDAY when I was the only one calling them...I had enough. No one EVER called to schedule his surgeries, I called Monday evening, Tuesday, Wednesday and THURSDAY. Every time to be told by (even the doctor) they'd call me back, no one ever called. The excuses were endless. While they didn't charge me for anything except the exam, I would not recommend taking your pet here. Thursday AFTERNOON I was told they wanted to switch doctors bcuz Dr Southern (I think that's her name) was "more hands on" but I had already told the front desk around 8a-9a that's day I'd never let them touch my dog again. Clearly the communication is lacking there. Denise* also had an attitude because I asked what my bill was and in which she replied "I'm not getting into it with you." So when it comes to your pet or the bill, Denise has no time or patience for customers. Frustration doesn't even begin to cover what I felt. I found another vet to to do his surgeries...$3000 LESS than Mohnacky and they specialize in the French Bulldog breed. I won't even get into the what Mohnacky was going to charge me...I had a few vets look the estimate I was given by Mohnacky and they were all in disbelief. My quote from Mohnacky was $5575 without his teeth cleaning (another $487 on top of $5575). I paid $3025 for neuter, removal of bladder stones, teeth cleaning and teeth extractions and labs at a vet in San Diego. The new vet also didn't charge me for X-rays since Mohnacky wasn't sharing my dogs medical record with them and they said it was not mine or my dogs fault. I had to call Mohnacky to finally ask for his records, I was put on hold and then hung up on. When I called again I told them I couldn't hold and the girl knew exactly who I was without me even saying a word, with a sigh she said "this is for Theo?" I got the email; they did not email the new vet as they said they would. Mohnacky also changes vets so much, my dog has seen Dr. Saaco, Dr. Yaeger, Dr Bulliard, another at vista I don't remember his name and then Dr. George in a span of 2yrs. I asked the front desk if they rotated doctors through their facilities, she said no. Dr Saaco has been the only one I've liked but she is no longer there and has her own practice in San Marcos. A LOT of red flags! I personally will ever take another pet here or any other Mohnacky in North County. I wouldn't allow them to change my goldfish's water honestly.

She was losing her cat, and it had only been a few months since we lost our family dog too. It felt like too much all at once. In the middle of that grief, I got on the phone trying to find somewhere, anywhere, that could help us in time. I called five vets. Two of them were so cold and dismissive to me while I was clearly falling apart, and it genuinely stunned me that anyone could treat a person that way during a moment like this. The other three just didn't have room. I remember sitting there feeling so lost, wondering how I was supposed to hold everything together for my mom when I couldn't even get someone to help us. Then I found Seacoast. The receptionist who picked up changed everything. She was so gentle with me. She let me get the words out, she listened, she answered every question with so much patience, and she never once made me feel like a burden. After being brushed off twice already by the other vet clinics, her kindness hit me hard. I kept thanking her, over and over, because I didn't know how else to express what that meant to me in that moment. When my parents brought our girl in later that day, the staff met them with the same tenderness. They were gentle, caring, and present with my parents during the hardest goodbye. In her final moments, our sweet girl was calm and peaceful, surrounded by her family and by the wonderful staff at Seacoast, who treated her with as much love as we did. This clinic didn't just take care of our cat, they took care of us. They saw us as people who were hurting, not just another appointment. From the moment we arrived until we left, the care we received was exceptional. Dr. Campbell was incredible. I had a lot of questions and concerns, and not once did she make me feel rushed, dismissed, or like I was being difficult. She would sit down with me, explain what she was seeing, what our options were, and why she was recommending what she was recommending. She was patient, thorough, articulate, and confident without ever being condescending. I was having an extremely difficult time with the decision to put Remi through surgery, and she gave me the information I needed without ever pressuring me. I remember telling my wife that if Remi had to have surgery, I was incredibly grateful Dr. Campbell was the one taking care of her. The surgery went extremely well. Dr. Campbell found and removed the obstruction, and thankfully Remi's intestines were healthy. Afterward, she took the time to explain what she found, how Remi did, what to expect during recovery, and even discussed an unrelated finding so we could monitor it in the future. There are people who are technically excellent at what they do, and there are people who are excellent at taking care of the human being on the other side of the exam table. Dr. Campbell is both. Benji was also incredible. His focus was on making sure I was okay during an extremely difficult night. He checked on me constantly, went out of his way to ask if there was anything he could do, and always seemed to show up at the right time with a positive attitude and some reassurance. His kindness was genuine, and those small gestures made a much bigger difference than he probably realizes. Theresa took amazing care of Remi after surgery. She was incredibly patient, kind, and sweet with her. It was obvious that Remi was with someone who genuinely cared about her comfort and recovery. Theresa patiently answered all of our questions, kept us informed, and gave us a lot of peace of mind. Natalie was fantastic as well. She carefully went through the estimates with me and made sure everything was clearly explained. While I was away, she even took photos of Remi and sent them to me so I could see that she was doing okay. At the end, Natalie found a roughly $200 credit that was owed back to us and made sure it was refunded. After such a significant and unexpected veterinary bill, that level of transparency gave me a lot of confidence that Remi's care was truly the priority, not simply maximizing the bill. I also want to recognize everyone whose names I unfortunately didn't get. Especially in the beginning, I was so worried about Remi that remembering names was about the last thing on my mind. The surgical team was amazing. They kept me informed every step of the way, explained what was happening, what was normal, what to expect, and how Remi was doing. After Remi came out of surgery, they did everything they could to reassure me and make me feel better--even while immediately preparing for another surgery. Their compassion during what was obviously an incredibly busy night meant a lot. There was also a nurse who cared for Remi after surgery whose name I unfortunately didn't get. She was incredible. I had a lot of questions, and she patiently answered every one of them. She made sure Remi was constantly checked on and did everything she could to keep her comfortable while she recovered. I wish I had gotten everyone's names because there are more people who deserve to be recognized individually. Every person we encountered, from start to finish, treated Remi and our family with kindness and compassion. This was one of the hardest experiences I've had with Remi, but I never once felt like we were going through it alone. I trusted this team with a member of my family, and I would do so again without hesitation. I appreciated that they were attentive not only to the patient, but also to parents and other dogs present for emotional support. (I brought along Skyler's sister Scarlet who is a 2 year old dachshund mix.) They generously offered water and snacks to parents in addition to a blanket for Scarlet after noticing she was cold. In total, the visit took 3 hours, since Sky needed to be sedated. We returned 3 days after to remove his drain, which was done gently and at no extra charge. There was no problem submitting invoices to pet insurance, and the reimbursement was even expedited, since the insurance company found zero issues with the paperwork. Thank you

Had the unfortunate experience of dealing with an emergency with our 18mo old pup. She had suffered…read morea spinal injury about a month ago, we didn't think it was that big a deal and the local emergency vet gave us some pain meds and anti inflammatory meds. No improvement after about 10 days so I took her to her normal vet who diagnosed IVDD (not uncommon in long, low dog breeds). Unfortunately she was already showing signs of neurological distress in her hind legs. Local vet referred us to VSH. Pros of VSH: They did actually seem to care about the condition and welfare of our pet. They were able to see us same day and we drove 45min to get seen asap We didn't wait to be seen once we arrived. They had already reviewed the chart from our vet and were ready to examine and treat. Cons: The cost was out of this world. I understand that surgery, whether animal or human, is not cheap. But we were quoted $12,500-$15,000 with an additional $5,000 in post op care and follow up. I honestly don't know how some people could possibly afford to cover that cost. The decision to treat or manage pain and eventually euthanize would be unbearable. How do you explain to your kids that the animal CAN be saved but it would put most lower/middle class families in a potentially crippling financial position. Must be heart wrenching. I don't believe services should be rendered without payment. After all, these are specialists who studied and trained for years to do what they do. But, to think that some animals and families may be devastated by these prices breaks my heart.

Last week our dog Loui had a procedure which took a bad turn, what was suppose to be a simple tumor removal turned into a nightmare for me when i received a call from Dr. Siebert about Loui not breathing on his own. Loui's respiratory problems landed him in an oxygen cage in a new facility. Dr. Siebert drove Loui there himself, he stayed there with me a bit, he followed up and he spoke to my husband and i numerous times. I saw the sad and concern look in Dr. Sieber's face when i lost it and cried like a baby over my dog Friday and i will never forget his genuine concern and professionalims. I will never forget him carrying Loui out of his own vehicle and into the new facility himself and hugging me at the end and feeling so badly for me, caring so much for the dog and understanding that to us this was as traumatic as any family member being in the hospital. Dr. Siebert is a saint, we are so full of gratitude for his actions and his care and support. Loui is home now and recovering. i would give Dr. Siebert 1,000,000,000 stars!
