There is a main barn with a gourmet kitchen, a large lower deck, an upstairs loft/bunker, rooms for entertaining and a pool equipped with a hot tub -- all of it faces the mountains. It's gorgeous! Down the hill, there are tons of little adorable cabins. Some of them have bunk beds, with trundles underneath! (I think about 6 beds?) Other cabins, like the one I stayed in, have a queen bed in the center. No closet space-- but there are lots of hooks to hang stuff on. I really enjoyed the simplicity of it all-- all white walls, white sheets and a natural wood finish ceiling. It was relaxing just to look at it all. Late at night you can hear the crickets and in the morning you can hear the song birds. I saw that most of the cabins, separated in sets of 4, had fire pits near them. A large field separated my cabin from the petting zoo. Sometimes, the goats would holler but it wasn't annoying. The little pigs are just adorable too! Hens and roosters also reside here, but I didn't hear the rooster in the morning like I thought I would. A natural farm is also on the grounds-- we had fresh basil water all weekend long! Yum! Since my brother is disabled, a cart was rented so he could get to and fro the event hall and cabins. They called it the "mule" and it actually stopped working for a short period of time. The manager of the property was called and it was promptly fixed-- the man got out of bed at 9pm to get the mule running! Great customer service. The mule is powerful -- it was handy when shuttling guests and their luggage. I loved this place and would consider renting it for a weekend if I lived closer!

The cabins are nestled in a mini forest with a babbling brook flowing just feet away from the wonderful back porch. Inside, the cabin was immaculately clean, the bath towels were very soft, the coffee provided was very good, and the bed was very comfortable. We truly wished we had a few more days to enjoy the cabin and surrounding cities; we hope to visit again soon.

The cabin had every thing we needed...charm, coziness, cookware, coffee maker, beautiful view, hot tub, jacuzzi. We could tell that a lot of thought was put into this place. We would definitely go back! We were a a short drive away from Clarkesville which had nice food, and of course we loved visiting the Old Sautee store, and coffee place across the road. For us, this was a great place to wind down, reconnect, and enjoy the quiet. We had no planned agenda except to escape the tyranny of the urgent and to enjoy our marriage. So, fast forward to January 2018, we booked a stay at the Buckhead lodge. When we arrived at the cabin, we found the basement's carpet(where the pool table is) was soaked and there was no running water. Turns out a pipe had burst between the time housekeeping was there and our arrival, apparently due to the freezing temperatures. So, we called the office and Sherry was very helpful and apologetic (although it's obviously not their fault) and Jim (the owner) came rushing over to see if it was something he could fix immediately. The repair would need to wait for the following day, so they upgraded us to one of their luxury cabins (the River Haus), which was GORGEOUS. Now, to further demonstrate just how amazing their customer service is, when we arrived at the River Haus there was a delicious Chicken Pot Pie from Betty's waiting for us in the oven (I had, in passing, mentioned to the office that we had driven 13 hours with several small children to get there and were starving)--this was SUCH a thoughtful gesture, that we were actually in shock. Anyway, they offered us the luxury cabin for the remainder of our stay but we chose to go back to Buckhead once the pipe was fixed because we really wanted that gorgeous Mountain View and some wilderness and solitude. There were no other issues with the pipes. Regarding cleanliness, both times we've stayed the cabins have been very clean. No complaints. Don't think twice and just book with Georgia Mountain Rentals!

I was worried it might be too small, but it was just right! I stayed in the loft bedroom's king sized bed and my friend stayed on the queen sized sleeper sofa downstairs. We had perfect timing and got to see the leaves changing color and enjoy the cool weather (being from South Florida these are both unusual!) We cooked some of our meals at the cabin in the well-stocked kitchen. There is a full fridge, stove/oven and a full set of dishes, glasses, cooking utensils and silverware. It got cold enough that we made hot apple cider and lit the wood burning fireplace. It was also nice to have the hot tub to soak in after a day out on the town in the cold. The nearby town of Helen is an adorable Bavarian Alpine Village with great little shops and restaurants. We also drove to nearby Dahlonega to check out the shops and artists there. We were able to go horseback riding at the Sunburst Stables in Clarkesville and we also took a trip to the North Georgia Zoo in Cleveland - I highly recommend both! I can't wait to come back in the summer to enjoy some more outdoor activities like tubing on the Chattahoochee River or boating on Unicoi Lake at Unicoi State Park.

There is a nice front porch where you can sit and drink coffee and watch the hummingbirds come and go all morning. A back deck is available, as well. The sitting room is spacious and comfortable. Check out the original glass in the sun room! We stayed in the bridal suite and enjoyed a perfectly sized room with 1/2 bath within that space. So much is within walking distance...church, restaurants, shops. If we're in Murphy again, we will stay here.
