My go-to gym for the summer time. Right by the water and great view of the water and the mountains. Pros: - friendly staff - front and rear gym balconies - spacious between equipment - pull-down lat/core ski-ergo machine Note: - no TVs (unlike mt. Pleasant cc) - it's a smaller gym compared to mt. Pls, but that means less ppl - free parking is past 2nd Ave, otherwise it's all metered parking around the cc read more

Thinking of moving into the area, so came here to check out how good the weight room is. The only good thing about it is that the views are amazing on a sunny day. If you don't live in the area, it's very close to the Main Street skytrain station (about a 2 min walk). Pros: - 2 areas specifically for deadlifting - 1 barbell pad (I need this for barbell hip thrust) - beautiful view of False Creek / Science World - new cable machines - there's an assisted pullup machine - spacious stretching area - they have large lockers (the long ones) - there's an ab wheel Cons: - no smith machine (!!!! What???) - no hip abduction machine - only 4 benches. Bonsor is similar in size and has at least 6 - it's a small gym - some asshole didn't put back the weights in one of the deadlifting area (325lbs). No f-in way am I reracking that. - the only extra barbells are the 2 in the deadlifting area. The other 2 are in the squat rack. At Bonsor, they have 6+ extra barbells that's in addition to the ones in the squat racks and bench press. Won't be going here again, not really worth the price of admission. read more

Been meaning to use this facility more often, it's our taxes that went into this spectacular community centre and I really do mean it. In the summer, when there's volleyball going in the gym, it completely faces False Creek's water, feels like you're right there. Like seriously, it seems less than 50 yards. Sucks that of all the sports they allow in the gym, no ball hockey b/c of the floor marks and glass walls. Guess that's the price to pay for a view. Good that the newer-style vending machines accept credit cards. Ok, maybe I shouldn't be so hard on them; they've got a good thing going on with a $50 gift card purchase, that you get a $10 coupon towards classes, programs, etc. but not rental rooms (yes, I checked, would've come in handy for those quiet meetings). read more

We hosted a birthday party here and the staff were really exceptional with communicating back and forth and helping set things up. We rented the gym which was huge and the view was beautiful. We liked the fact that we could eat and have the kids play in the same room vs other community centres where you get to play and then you go upstairs to eat. It's nice to have everything in one place. Gary and Caleb were really helpful with everything especially since this is the first big kids party I've organized. Gary answered all my questions right away and Caleb was really nice about setting up all the tables. We had the tots package, I think the only thing that was lacking was hockey sticks in case the kids wanted to play floor hockey and since the gym was so big, it'd be nice if they had more toys but other than that everything great! read more

I am writing this review about the Community Centre strictly as a wedding venue. This past weekend, I attended a wedding in this space and I was very impressed. We were in a large very bright room on the second floor with an amazing view of the water. At night it was particularly lovely to see the backdrop of the lights on the horizon. The large balcony was a bonus too since it was a wee bit warm inside. From a practical standpoint, the small kitchen and the storage space in the room were very helpful. We also had access to the space early enough in the day to successfully decorate and prepare. The facility itself was clean, spacious, and spartan and comfortably housed about eighty guests comfortably for a buffet dinner. All in all, this was a lovely venue for a beautiful summer wedding. read more

Great & spacious community venue with a view of the water. BALLER! The free parking and newness of the facility seems surreal. Clearly I need to buy a unit in the Olympic Village. This venue has private rooms fit for fitness classes, private parties or community events. I came here for the Power Of Movement yoga session and the space was a great fit for the large group. Pristine, bright and modern. I also appreciate that they use rainwater for the toilets. Way to be sustainable, Creekside! read more

My BF and I took the groupons for 2 hours kayaking in Creekside Kayaks, which works with the Creekside Community Center. I enjoyed this experience, as the Community Centre is spacious, clean and we got a great service. Then we had to walk close to the water (as obviously we need need to be in the water for kayaking ;-)) and the staff there, was friendly and helpfull. My BF who has more experience than me in Kayaking told me that the staff wasn't very knowledgeable but to me it was fine. The Kayaks were in a good shape and clean. Now we only went to the Marina of Creekside, which gives you a beautiful view of the city but can be annoying through the constant traffic of boat and water taxi. Therefore the water is pretty dirty but what can you expect when you paddle into a Marina. Overall, a great experience which I will renew. J'ai mal au bras hahahaha !! read more

Wow. This community center is spectacular. It's a gorgeous, contemporary, open and spacious building facing False Creek, right by the Telus World of Science. The proximity to the water and the view of the city across the inlet is amazing. THere's a gym here and rooms for hosting events. My family came here to take some kayaking lessons (the Dragon Boat teams meet here, apparently, and this is home base for Creekside Kayaks, who offer the kayaking classes). I can't speak highly enough of our 3-hour class. Led by Chris (over 30 years kayaking!) and Mark (cool dude from Ireland!), we were in a small class of five. Can't beat that ratio: 2 instructors for 5 students! We really lucked out, to be in such a small class, on such a beautiful day. It was all hands-on training, too (I had erroneously thought we'd have a few hours of classroom instruction before heading into the water. But oh no! All three hours were spent kayaking). We got all the way to the Burrard Bridge and learned a lot of techniques along the way. I highly recommend this class. Back to the Community Center: there are lots of docks for lots of boats and related equipment, and inside the Center proper are ample lockers to store your stuff (remember to bring your own lock!). The women's bathrooms and changing rooms/shower areas were utilitarian but clean and large; my husband said the hand dryers were not working in the men's bathroom area though and there were no paper towels to dry one's hands there. We got to the site early so we had no problem locking our bikes up at the bike stand in front of the Center, but when we left, the bike stand was PACKED and bikes were locked on top of each other. It was hard to get our bikes out. It would behoove the Center to install another bike stand, for sure. Other than these minor issues, though, this is a wonderful community center, and my family plans on checking out what other courses and classes are offered here, as we'd like to return. read more

Creekside just opened to the public. I got a one month pass for the Weight Room and it's so-so. There aren't as many machines, both weight and cardio, as I'd like, but right now it's very empty so I never have to wait. The view is stunning. It's the best part. Staring out onto the water through the floor-to-ceiling windows. I also signed up for the yoga class on Sunday mornings. I really like the instructor. So far I am the only person registered. The others have been drop-in. It's $12 for a 90 min class if you register or $14 for drop-in. That's great pricing for yoga. Since it is so new and there is so much room we get to do all the fun stretches that you never get in a full-to-bursting class. read more

Every time we take another walk along the False Creek Athletes Village area we find new things have popped up. This slow growing community already has such an awesome, relaxing vibe to it, making this an attractive place to bring out of town guests just to hang out. The community center is a really nice, bright place to sit and chill for a bit or get involved in some fitness activities. There's a gymnasium in there, some clean bathrooms, and even a wi-fi signal & comfy seating for guests. Nice! read more

Love this community centre, great gym! Awesome view too! Great space lots of new equipment! Its almost never packed like other gyms! Staff are warm and friendly too! read more

Very weak showers, dirty, and seen a homeless person use the showers. They check for wristbands inside the gym/fitness centre but virtually no security otherwise. Would also be nice if lockers are closer to the showers. Only thing I like is the location read more

They do not check for wristbands inside the gym/fitness center and virtually no security. Great gym to have a free workout An amazing view. read more

parking available is sure nice, and for the time being the fitness centre is pretty empty too, but they have a really odd assortment of gear in there. whatever, one can totally make do, and at least you're not packed in there like cattle as with mount pleasant. nice view, too. i really do hate olympic village in general, but i love how all the bad karma the place has is keeping the centre empty for all us strathcona residents to go and use lol read more

Very nice modern facility that I have only ever visited for the toddler open gym. For a mere $1 your little one gets the run of the whole huge gym and the toys within. Sunny summer weekdays are the quietest, rainy weekend days draws tons of parents/kids from all around the city (not exactly the most peaceful way to start your weekend). The toys are a little more sparse given the space compared to other community centers and are already starting to show their age after constant use. Still this is a huge asset to our neighborhood and our whole family is thankful for it. read more

I like the newness of the fitness centre-new weights, machines, and limited cardio machines. The views are phenomenal if you can snag an elliptical but the sign-up board is hidden away and there can be confusion if people can't see it. I can see this place getting busier all the time and I don't know if it will be big enough to accommodate everyone in the near future. I like gyms with lots of equipment and this place is a-ok for that. The changing/shower facilities are limited but clean and does the job. 5 stars for the phenomenal setting. -1 for changing room size. read more

Looks good from the outside...extremely expensive and the showers are absolutely horrid, like an eastern european hostel

I came here for a trade show in a small gym. It is a nice well maintained newly built building that offers all the essentials, have lots of rooms and has a well trained public friendly staff. read more

We came here for a kid's birthday on a saturday. We had the whole gym from 5-7pm with badminton nets, playground toys etc floating around. Tables and chairs were provided for the party. The community center is almost brand new and well-kept. Lots of bathrooms available. There are a couple of gyms available at the community center. There is paid parking underground with reasonable rates. If you are lucky you can circle around the Olympic Village area and find a spot! read more

Try call at 6 30 am to register for drop in volleyball for Thursday. Even if you will be lucky at this time you will find out that you are number 10 on the list. I tried couple times lat time I called at 6 30.and 30 sec and I was 9 . Sorry but is no way to take the name , phone number and answer all this calls in so short time. Also people calling not only for volleyball but also for soccer in this day which is also very popular. as other activities. Great spot for a community centre. Play drop-in volleyball here and the atmosphere is great. The courts are decent and the facility is squeaky clean. There is tons of street parking around the centre. read more

checked out the fitness centre today, as ive got a flex pass that allows you to visit about 10 different vancouver fitness/aquatic centres. its quite not a large gym at all, but it was quite empty (this was primetime) so you never have to wait for any of the weights. its got a great squat rack, and dumbells that go up to 100 pounds (i believe). i suspect most people who use this gym will be using the cardio equipment so eventually u may have to wait for those the view is incredible, so thats a huge plus. huge windows overlooking the water. they also have a great basketball court, but i didnt get a chance to play there. now if they could only sell some condos ;) read more

As far as CARDIO goes this place is the best . Just get on something and look over the water . I absolutely love this gym for this reason . Otherwise I would rate the gym a 2 . Do not bother driving and if you decide to park in the underground don't do it I have been ticket two x when my ticket clearly had more time on it . The area itself is probably the least accessible there is so much construction that if you make 1 wrong move you are in traffic for at least 15 minutes for something that normally takes me 6 minutes now takes close to 15 minutes. Unfortunately for this reason I no longer go to creek side because the place is too annoying to navigate through . Honestly and not to be mean the staff are always on the phone and act very disinterested . They are very archaic with the wrist ban scenario . read more

I have been looking forward to trying the Creekside community centre for some time. I was extremely disappointed in the facilities. There are 15 lockers for the gym in a central area. This no where near enough. The facility is filthy. There are dust bunnies rolling around and the mats for stretching where black. Nobody seems to put anything away and there are free weights just in the middle of the floor. The equipment like bands and balls are already falling apart. There is 3 elliptical machines! The lack of cardio equipment is astonishing! Plus there is no attendant on duty so you have to wear a wrist band. The place has so much potential. It's in a beautiful area but it is not run properly and is already dingy. read more
