Bug that bites
Eileen K.

Stayed in the cowboy cabin. Extremely overpriced, $170/night. Dirty. A lot of bugs inside. Very uncomfortable bed and pillows. No view (besides old trailers) Creek is stagnant and dirty. Trailer park area. Looking out each window there are old trailers that people live in. No coffee, soap, shampoo or any amenities. You can find something much better for the price through Airbnb

Late winter/early spring- path to the creek

Great place to go camping and relax from the city life. Owners Dennis and Diane are very nice and Dennis is a natural entertainer. All their cabins are good but one of the cabins has 2 floors and offers a great view of the hill country. The area is very beautiful, especially during late March, early April and also Fall. The creek has flowing water and is quiet serene. They have smart dogs which sometimes go along with you during exploring and I heard that one of them is trained to catch fish. They seem to do well in terms of getting cabin occupants, but if they had more publicity I bet they would be packed always! That's how nice it is. Mostly everything is in the cabins but you may need to bring linens if you prefer. Overall, great place to stay.

We had a great time fishing with Brandon! He was very professional and super easy to get along…read morewith! We caught a cooler full of crappie and some catfish too! Definitely give him a call if you'll be at Lake LBJ!

I would give Bray's Fishing 10 stars if it was possible. Brandon is AMAZING! My daughter and I did…read morea 1/2 day fishing tour with him on Lake LBJ and we had such a great time! Brandon has a great boat with high-quality equipment. He provided everything we needed to have an excellent morning of fishing on the lake. We had to have caught over 50 fish. My daughter is 12 and he was extremely patient and careful with her. I am a total beginner and had very low expectations, but he blew us away. Like the old phrase goes, it was good because he not only took us fishing, he actually taught us how to fish. My daughter really wanted a catfish and he even stayed out longer than we had agreed in order to help us get a catfish (which we did). We brought home fish enough fish for several meals and overall, just had a very pleasant experience. You can expect clear, timely communication in the booking process (we booked via Yelp), a professional and knowledgeable guide and teacher in Brandon, who also cleaned and dressed our fish, pleasant conversation and an easy day on the lake. We caught a variety of fish and learned much about each one through his knowledge of the local lake life. Brandon is a father, so he's great with kids and adults alike, and he is also just a really solid, nice guy. His pricing is more than fair for the value of the experience and he was much more easy to book than the other services we looked at in the Marble Falls area. A nod also to safety. He made sure we were safe at all times and I never felt even remotely uncomfortable being out with him, even though I was a mom out alone with my daughter. He's a solid guy and we'd recommend him for your next fishing adventure. We will be back out to fish with Bray's the next time we need a lake getaway!

Beautiful park that is just gorgeous in the spring with wildflowers in bloom. If camping though,…read moreplease be aware that there is no ranger or camp host on site. I camped midweek with my kids and we were literally the only people in the park. It was kinda cool having the place to ourselves until 10pm when some sketch dude on a motorcycle literally stopped right at our spot and claimed to be "meeting a friend." Not sure what kind of shenanigans he was up to, but it did not feel safe. I may have set a record for breaking camp and getting the heck out of dodge.

The park host deserves all of the credit for the culture she creates for her campers. She called…read morethe park her yard and said she keeps up with it as such. There were a number of times over my weekend there where I had long conversations with her where she gave me great information and was just generally welcoming and generous. I know that at one point she took kites down to the kids for them to fly which to me is above and beyond. I do hope LCRA will add a wheelchair accessible restroom, potable water on grounds, an ice machine and firewood that isn't $11 for a tiny bundle. Know to bring your own hand washing station. We found the port-a-potty to be the cleanest we'd ever seen but there isn't even hand sanitizer available. Each campsite is very unique so if you're not sure which you would like go to the grounds ahead of time and ask the host if you can just drive through to look and pick a site for the future. She said we could do that anytime for free if we weren't staying. Again, Linda the host was the best my camping club has ever experienced.
