    Bug that bites

Stayed in the cowboy cabin. Extremely overpriced, $170/night. Dirty. A lot of bugs inside. Very uncomfortable bed and pillows. No view (besides old trailers) Creek is stagnant and dirty. Trailer park area. Looking out each window there are old trailers that people live in. No coffee, soap, shampoo or any amenities. You can find something much better for the price through Airbnb

Great place to go camping and relax from the city life. Owners Dennis and Diane are very nice and Dennis is a natural entertainer. All their cabins are good but one of the cabins has 2 floors and offers a great view of the hill country. The area is very beautiful, especially during late March, early April and also Fall. The creek has flowing water and is quiet serene. They have smart dogs which sometimes go along with you during exploring and I heard that one of them is trained to catch fish. They seem to do well in terms of getting cabin occupants, but if they had more publicity I bet they would be packed always! That's how nice it is. Mostly everything is in the cabins but you may need to bring linens if you prefer. Overall, great place to stay.

Brandon has a great boat with high-quality equipment. He provided everything we needed to have an excellent morning of fishing on the lake. We had to have caught over 50 fish. My daughter is 12 and he was extremely patient and careful with her. I am a total beginner and had very low expectations, but he blew us away. Like the old phrase goes, it was good because he not only took us fishing, he actually taught us how to fish. My daughter really wanted a catfish and he even stayed out longer than we had agreed in order to help us get a catfish (which we did). We brought home fish enough fish for several meals and overall, just had a very pleasant experience. You can expect clear, timely communication in the booking process (we booked via Yelp), a professional and knowledgeable guide and teacher in Brandon, who also cleaned and dressed our fish, pleasant conversation and an easy day on the lake. We caught a variety of fish and learned much about each one through his knowledge of the local lake life. Brandon is a father, so he's great with kids and adults alike, and he is also just a really solid, nice guy. His pricing is more than fair for the value of the experience and he was much more easy to book than the other services we looked at in the Marble Falls area. A nod also to safety. He made sure we were safe at all times and I never felt even remotely uncomfortable being out with him, even though I was a mom out alone with my daughter. He's a solid guy and we'd recommend him for your next fishing adventure. We will be back out to fish with Bray's the next time we need a lake getaway!

The bill came to $863.13 or $432 per jetski!! For an oil change which takes 3.5 quarts of oil and a filter! The parts came to about $112, the rest was for labor at $170 an hour plus shop supplies, hazardous waste charge (oil), and credit card fee (3.5%). And by the way, it took this Master mechanic (at $170 he must top-of-the line) 1.5 hours to do this oil change! Incidentally, I looked at an old 2023 bill, when the exact same mechanic changed the oil in the exact same jetskis and it took him 1.2 hours per jetski then. And of course the hourly rate was a lot cheaper back then too (37% cheaper), but it's different ownership now when Full Throttle took over from Highland Lakes Seadoo. I guess they had to increase the time the mechanic worked on these jetskis or raise the labor rate even more to get more money in, but how much more than $170 per hour are you going to charge for a guy doing a basic oil change? Or perhaps the mechanic is slowing down in his old age, who knows? My advice? Perhaps it pays to look for a different place. By the way, all the positive reviews (with the exception of one) are about Highland Lakes Seadoo, which were the previous owners. I liked that place. The new ownership has turned greedy.

Some of the tree roots were the biggest and most unique I've ever seen in my life. The whole place just had such a calm, magical feeling to it. One thing to note is that there are a LOT of stairs in many locations and most are very steep, so it's definitely not stroller-friendly if you are a family with young ones. If you're bringing little ones, just be mindful and watch your step going down the stairs toward the springs. The property itself is absolutely beautiful. You can either camp overnight or purchase a day pass. From what I remember, day passes were $10 per adult, kids under 3 were free, and camping was around $21 a night. They close the springs at 8:00 pm and for campers quiet time is from 10:00 pm to 7:00 am. No loud generators allowed for campers. They had so many little hidden coves and tucked-away areas where you could set up camp, which made it feel really private and peaceful. I was also very impressed with how clean everything was. The bathrooms and showers were pristine, very sanitary, and conveniently located within walking distance of the entrance. One surprise I didn't expect was that they also have a separate swimming pool in addition to the springs, which ended up being great because the water at the springs was a little murky the day we went due to recent rain. Still gorgeous to look at though, especially with the waterfall. It honestly felt surreal, like you forgot you were still in Texas. They also have a beautiful butterfly garden with tons of unique plants and greenery that made the experience interesting. Overall, this place just gave off such a good feeling. Peaceful, relaxing, beautiful, and definitely a must-see if you enjoy nature. We'll absolutely be returning again.

The man-made pool has spring water; this is where I would recommend families with children or inexperienced swimmers go. It's lovely and more of a managed pool setting. We hiked down the stone steps to reach the natural springs which are so beautiful with a picturesque mini waterfall and a rope swing as well! However swimming here can be treacherous. I highly recommend water shoes as there are lots of rocks and moss in the springs. Water depth also varies greatly from one spot to another so it's important to be aware of that. Water temperature was comfortable and cool - felt great on a hot summer day. Wrapped up our visit in the garden, which is so beautifully maintained. Absolutely lovely and zen. The changing room and bathroom facilities are clean and easily accessible. We left feeling dry, happy, and peaceful after a wonderful day in nature.
