There was a lot of plant growth around the house but with the googan frog it posed very few if any challenges outside the crappie house and inside was absolute magic . Was so grateful for the experience. Went back again at end of summer break and learned it was shut down indefinitely. If it ever opens again would love to bring the kids back , but respect the decision of the owner. The bait shop and cabins and location are simply awesome !

A gorgeous park with a lake, picnic areas, and RV set ups with grills, but most of all, the star of the park, Texas Bluebonnets. There is a park fee, of $5.00 per person. You are given a pass for the day. And a map of the park. To see the Bluebonnets from the entrance, you're just going to follow the road. Very easy to find. It's a bit of a drive to the Bluebonnets and lake. And it's a dirt road, lots of dust and small rocks. The park is absolutely beautiful. Well worth the drive and the pictures, well, speak for themselves. God Bless Texas. So grateful for the Bluebonnets today.

That didn't stop us from seeing a few starting to spring to life. We walked along the water and throughout the property just consuming as much of the beauty as we could. I camped midweek with my kids and we were literally the only people in the park. It was kinda cool having the place to ourselves until 10pm when some sketch dude on a motorcycle literally stopped right at our spot and claimed to be "meeting a friend." Not sure what kind of shenanigans he was up to, but it did not feel safe. I may have set a record for breaking camp and getting the heck out of dodge.

I know that at one point she took kites down to the kids for them to fly which to me is above and beyond. I do hope LCRA will add a wheelchair accessible restroom, potable water on grounds, an ice machine and firewood that isn't $11 for a tiny bundle. Know to bring your own hand washing station. We found the port-a-potty to be the cleanest we'd ever seen but there isn't even hand sanitizer available. Each campsite is very unique so if you're not sure which you would like go to the grounds ahead of time and ask the host if you can just drive through to look and pick a site for the future. She said we could do that anytime for free if we weren't staying. Again, Linda the host was the best my camping club has ever experienced.

There is nothing wrong with this place, just not that interesting to visit. It is a warm water hatchery with lots of earthen ponds to raise the fish in. There is a nice set of informational signs and possibly at some time of year there might be fingerlings in the inside tanks. You can't feed them and you can't see them. So, if you decide to go, just don't make any promises of seeing fish. :)

Do not rent from this place! I read the reviews beforehand…read moreand thought, "It can't be that bad." Unfortunately, it was even worse than I expected. The property looked more like a salvage yard or mechanic shop than a boat rental & resort. When I walked into the office, it had an unpleasant odor and did not inspire confidence. I started filling out the paperwork, but the employee at the counter disappeared without explanation. I stepped outside briefly to move my car, and when I returned, the owner approached me and bizarrely stated that I was "going to kill him." He then informed me that a boat had been returned damaged the day before and that there was no boat available for our reservation. We had driven two hours to get there and arrived at 10:30 a.m. on the Fourth of July, only to find out that our rental could not be honored. When I asked if there was anything they could do to help, the answer was simply no. The owner then grabbed a damaged propeller from the counter and used it to explain the situation. What made this even more questionable was that the propeller was covered in dust and did not even appear to match the model we had reserved. Afterward, I read additional reviews and found multiple accounts describing nearly the exact same experience. That made me question whether this was truly an unexpected issue or a recurring pattern. What frustrates me most is that they reportedly knew about the damage the day before. If that was the case, why wasn't I contacted before making a two-hour drive? A simple phone call could have saved us a significant amount of time, money, and frustration. Based on my experience, I would not recommend renting from this business.
