Rudest customer service around. They act like you're bothering them, in the fish dept most notably! I experienced rudeness on all 3 occasions I've shopped there, only for convenience sake. Never again! I'd rather drive for hours than go there again. On 1 of the 3 visits, the $9 each fish I got from there had ick and all died before the next morning ($45 down the drain). On top of that their prices are 3x and 4x the other local fish stores. They do keep good stock. Recommend shopping at other pet stores! 3 strikes and they're out for me! read more

Store has so many varieties of products to choose from. Their fish dept is huge and many times they have fish and supplies that you cannot find elsewhere. I have bought many fish here and am always satisfied that they are healthy and love a long time. The thing that impresses me the most is how healthy the tank look at the store. Many pet stores have dead and decaying fish on display but not here. They are also very knowledgeable about their products and pets. We had special ordered some cat food for our cats from Creature comforts. The first few times it was ordered, it came in, they called us, and we went to pick it up within a few days. Then Creature comforts started ordering the wrong food, or telling me they had ordered my food and then not ordering it at all. When I called the first time this happened they stated that it had never even been written in the order book. I understood, mistakes happen, maybe the person that took my call was busy at the time and just didn't write it down. This last time, I called three times to make sure my food was ordered, and was told every time it was. Here we are almost two months later and no food. I wanted to shop local, but Creature Comforts doesn't seem to want my business. I was spending $300 or more every couple of months with this order. Best fish in the area. I've never brought home a fish from Creature Comforts that had anything more than a little shock, and that was most likely my fault. Never a disease or a dead or dying fish passed off as healthy. They've also got the widest selection and the most knowledgeable staff. Fish hobbyists work in the fish section, and I always know I can ask anything and they'll either know or give a shout to someone who knows a little more. I was visiting with a friend. I seen a brand on merchandise and asked some questions. The lady was not very happy that I was mentioning what I had heard and decided to argue it down on front of other customers. I was simply trying to enlighten her and she became unprofessional and un business like With No interest in pulling the item, even though they had been talked about recall. Stating all of them have a pesticide and is always a risk. I don't visit this small business very often, for this exact reason. She is always unkind and the man is not very friendly either. read more

Bought two fish to add to my salt water tank, which I currently had fish in, which we know salt water fish are not cheap. Both died. No refund or given another fish. Worst customer service ever. I went in to look at some fancy rats to adopt. I asked if i could hold one, and the lady rudely said no. Then went on about covid.I then asked under what circumstance could you hold an animal if you were purchasing it and she said i could not hold one period. Even if i was buying it. I understand covid is a big thing right now but it seems a little ridiculous that you can't hold an animal even if you were to purchase it. Personally, i would like to hold a rat before i adopt them to see their demeanor, personality, behavior, etc. i think that's important when adopting any animal. Most likely will not be returning. I don't know who that lady is, but she needs a serious attitude adjustment and needs to be more professional when speaking to customers. read more

In general, if I need pet supplies, this is where I go. The staff is always friendly and usually very knowledgeable. They have a pretty good selection as well. I can usually find stuff here that I can't elsewhere. I especially like their fish dept. The staff knows the fish and can be very helpful in setting up a tank. They will usually ask for details of your setup in order to ensure you will be happy with your selection. Their fish are each labeled in red, blue, or black. Red are aggressive fish, blue for semi-aggressive, and black for docile. The prices are generally pretty good and they have a huge assortment. They generally, don't have anything too exotic but they have a much better selection than the chain stores... the fish are usually healthier as well. My one complaint would be that they don't have a very large assortment of tank decor. read more

I love this family-owned store. They have all the food and pet supplies the discerning owner would want. In addition, their prices are competitive. Most of all, I am truly grateful to their store employee, Marianna. She provided a wealth of knowledge during the pre and post pregnancy and whelping of my German Shepherds. Despite having a wonderful veterinarian, she provided more nutritional insight than even he could. I truly feel indebted to her and to this awesome pet store. read more

Really good place, good employees, good service, good selection. The only thing that keeps me from giving it five stars instead of four (I wish I could give four-and-a-half) is that it is so crowded! Bless them for trying to carry everything a responsible pet owner needs - high-quality foods and supplies, plus all those fun things that we can't seem to do without! Creature Comforts helps me take care of three dogs, six fish, and a cat. I like that it's a locally-owned business, and that it seems to value its employees. They should really educate their staff before letting them try and educate a customer on any of their animals. They are rude and for the most part have no idea what they are talking about. I had purchased a fish that died 3 days later covered in white spots. I took it in the store and they replaced it with the same type of fish out of the same tank the 1st one came from. That one has also now died covered in white spots. Now I have another fish in my tank covered in white spots. When I went in the store last night to purchase medication to hopefully save this fish I thought I would tell the girl in the fish department that I think the tank has ick and she thought it necessary to inform me that is not what is going on. I was instead told all fish carry ick and that its not contagious to other fish. That is a straight lie, I have had fish my entire life and know that its very contagious. She also told me that I was feeding the fish that have died the wrong food when I have had the same types of fish in the past and fed them the same exact food and they lived well over 8 years and thrived very well. I reluctantly went back there after my tortoise I purchased from there died as well. The prices of their fish is way more than another local pet store and they don't live and have disease. I have lost 3 other fish I purchased from there recently as well. The employee told me it was because the fish were stressed out and that is why they died. I also had my water tested and it was perfect so that is not the reason. The fact that they don't want to accept responsibly after I have lost over $60 in fish is now the reason I will not go back regardless how convenient it is. Beware if you purchase fish from there!!!!!! I have purchased another tortoise and had her for almost 3 years now, so before anyone wants to say I am the problem that is inaccurate. I know how to care for my animals as I have 4 dogs as well. EDUCATE YOUR STAFF!!!!!! TAKE PROPER CARE OF YOUR ANIMALS!!!!!!! My husband and I were in the store looking at rats to buy and Chelsea did a great job on being knowledgeable in the animals. We ended getting dumbo rats and we named the girls salt and pepper. She helped us choose the proper food and carrier since we were traveling back to North Carolina. She also gave us the proper cage recommendations to get when we got back home. Owner not nice. Treated me like a criminal when I wanted to return a fish tank air pump that was defective. I purchased this item less than six months.. Luckly i had a back up air pump for tank. I also kept purchasing all this medicine for my gold fish which I really believe kiilled them. I started purchasing gold fish from Walmart and my supplies there after, and years later no problems. read more

Knowledgeable staff with wide selection of pet food. My wife and I received all our tips for starting a saltwater tank, which I am extremely happy about. They also have a large selection of blue brand dog food that we only use to feed our dogs. The place is friendly and clean. The price of most things are a little on the expensive side but worth it to support a local pet shop competing with a national brand like outsmart that are limited with expert on pets. read more

Horrendous Customer Service! Asked to speak to the owner concerning a customer service matter I was not pleased with. Store Mgr reported he was 'out of town', but would have him call. He called me the next day, panting, ready to do battle before the conversation even began. Stated he was 5 feet away from the initial discussion I had with the store mgr, (so much for being out of town, so that was a lie). I could tell my conversation with him was going to go no where, so offered to end the conversation right then, but he stated: 'he wanted to know what the problem was', when I began to relay that as a CUSTOMER, I felt that I was not treated in way that I felt I should have been, hoping we could have a mature, man to man discussion, he was not interested in the slightest to what I had to say. Instead his reply was: "Go back to WalMart!". I urge everyone to go elsewhere where your business is sincerely appreciated. BTW, bought the same item at Tractor Supply in Vestal for 20% less than at CC. Sad, where has the commitment to customer service gone in this Country? read more
