I contacted Steve via text and via e-mail very courteously to fulfill the requirement of the warranty on a few rose bushes his team planted for me at our main home that never grew. Four of the ones that he planted for us died. He responded and scheduled a time to come and replace them. On the day he scheduled to come, he called and said that the roses were not in stock and would be the following Monday. I never heard from him the following Monday. His team them abruptly scheduled a date and time to come to plant something that I received via e-mail and didn't know on that date and time either, which was a Sunday afternoon. I kindly parked with flags the plants that needed to be replaced under the warranty from an over $1000 purchase I made on plants. The communication is subpar and I fear they do not want to fulfill the stipulations of the warranty on plants. Beware of this type of interaction and any promise they make on warranty fulfillment when you purchase services from this company.

Then it was all about implementation. We had a big party gathering coming up so we conveyed Steve a date before which all work can be done and it was done perfectly well before that .Thanks to Steve's great planning and execution. The whole work was completed with in 4-5 days . During those work days , we had some changes and all were accommodated . Steve was super good in communication and his ideas were top notch .He gave the idea of covering our pergola with transparent roof and it came out really good. Even after all the work and payment is done, few weeks later there were some issues in the roof and Steve resolved it immediately the following day with a quick repair . First they couldn't come out until November (almost 1.5 months) just to do the estimate. Then, they have a $2500 minimum for doing work ("we're a small company", they said). In my particular case the budget/minimum might not be an issue (I don't think it's a small job). Got them to come out next week because my issue is somewhat urgent. About twenty minutes later they called back and said I was already in their database. They don't know why. The last time I had any landscape work done was several years ago, and it was not by Shady Grove. They assure me it's because they've already come out to provide an estimate. But they have no other records. They only have my name and contact information. So, because I'm in their system, they wanted to charge $75 because they "must" have come out before... No thanks. I am an fairly organized person. On a lark I searched my email history and, lo and behold, I find the email thread with Shady Grove. From 2011. Where I *CANCELED* my appointment. So, because of their poor record keeping and a need for $75 not only did they lose an entire project but they also earned a negative review and lost any potential for future work. In the grand scheme of things looking at their other reviews on other sites it's clear that they do quality work. But I can't deal with this kind of silly shenanigans.
