Stan is very responsive and a nice person. That's what makes it so difficult to write this review. The reason why I hired him was because of all of his positive reviews and his quick attention to messages, as well as the photos I saw online. Unfortunately, his work was not what I expected. Was hoping to publish photos for you all to see, but it doesn't seem to be an option. I asked for a very thick piece of wood for a floating shelf in my laundry room. The wood was just furniture grade plywood from Lowe's. The pieces were cut at strange angles, leaving gaps and mismatched sizes. He did fix some of them, but there are just too many pieces that are not actually flush to fix without redoing the entire shelving. The cool shelf on the wall that was a folding table was originally not rectangular and had to be measured by me to show it was not a rectangle, which he fixed. He stained the wood but left big stain marks on my sink and grout that are permanent. True, I was getting a new sink, but I wasn't doing that right away. I had to ask for screws to be mounted into the wall because I was afraid the shelving may fall, and it was only attached with a bunch of tiny nails. I also had to ask him to fill in the nail holes and restain it to cover all of it. The original rod that was used to hang clothes was a dollar piece of crooked dowel rod that still had the sticker from Lowe's and he stained over the sticker. He did put a better piece am writing this review not because I want to hurt Stan. I want everyone to be aware that photos online are not always what they seem up close. I would get the actual estimate in writing, and that was another mistake. We had agreed verbally that it would be one thick floating shelf, and when I came home after it was done, I had two shelves. It looks fine, but that was not what we discussed. The worst part was the fact that the wood was not quality, and it work looks subpar. Unfortunately, I paid way too much, $1050, for two shelves and a folding table that is not well constructed. I showed my friends the work, and the look on their faces was embarrassment for me that I paid so much for this work. I can't fix it or have the money to redo it. In a Facebook picture, it looks nice. Up close, it is a mess. Please be aware. I put too much stock into what others said online. Lessons learned. read more
