Everyone kept their heads down and focused on their tasks. Very impressive customer service. The work was immaculate and the follow up was equally impressive. Jack (owner) communicated with me at first in person, on my property, followed by a quote the next day and then a couple of days before the job was to commence and once during wrap up. The final call was to collect a balance and he waited two weeks before doing that. There were several texts send by me; ie these guys are great etc. He did not appear to be bottom line driven but with his focus on my satisfaction. Of course all business owner want to get paid but that never felt like his priority. It's an art to make a client feel the way I did upon completion. Well done! For the reviews that discuss quotes and didn't select them, the cheap comes out expensive. I would expect most painters to have similar quotes and recommend getting 2 or 3 but paying a bit more for a great job done quickly, that's a no brainer to me. fyi; NEVER accept the cheapest quote and there's a subtle art to a contract negotiation. Don't play games and say what your budget is up front. It makes things go smoothly from the start and the business owner will appreciate your forthrightness. The company will say yes, no or counter. My house looks amazing and that was my #1 goal. It's important to mention that I took a bit too long responding as I am a very busy guy who travels a ton. Glad I chose this team and I'm looking forward to the next project!

Derun Construction Inc. is run by brothers Paul & Ivan Derun. I've had the opportunity to utilize…read moreDerun to fully remodel a ~40 year old Screen Porch and highly recommend their services. Rather than stating that they're great to work with (which they truly are) let me elaborate on my actual experience. Given I was seeking to remodel an existing porch structure in a pretty significant way, I initially enlisted the services of a structural engineering firm to create drawings for me. Thereafter, I began interviewing prospective contractors to perform the work laid out in the drawings and was quite surprised at the relative indifference and/or opposition shown by several contractors toward the existence of the plans - most claimed there wasn't a need for them or attempted to tell me how engineers just overcomplicate things. Paul, on the other hand, was actually delighted to know that I had these engineering plans in hand and went over them with me at our very first meeting. He was intelligent enough to realize that if he followed the engineering drawings, as laid out; he would have no issues in getting the project through the county code enforcement process which would be a win for both him, as a contractor, and me, as the client. Paul takes a lot of pride in his work and he works hard to please his customers. By nature, I am a very particular individual; and being a Realtor by profession, makes me even more so. Paul took all of my feedback in stride and did everything he could to meet my exacting standards. There were days when I literally hovered over him and his team; more so to learn from them (given my profession) rather than to supervise - but I'm quite sure this couldn't have been a lot of fun for him and the crew. In the few instances where my expectation on certain things happened to exceed the underlying project scope; Paul was very diplomatic in pointing this out to me and we quickly found common ground such that I wasn't compromising his profit margins and was able to fulfill my desires. I also wanted a proper estimate on the front end; as well as, a full paper trail of the project - including change orders - which Paul readily supplied. Paul's pricing was fair and the project was completed within the cost margins of error and project timeline I had planned for. I had a vision for what the porch would look like when completed and Paul provided a lot of good feedback in making my vision a reality. We talked through a lot of different things like material choices, design, electrical outlet locations etc. I'll conclude by saying Paul is just a genuinely good person....period; and anyone who opts to work with him is in good hands. Thank you Paul, Ivan and the rest of the team!

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Window Nation…read more I had a representative come to my home to provide a quote for 8 windows. After the appointment, I decided to take a few days to do my due diligence and gather a couple of additional quotes before making a decision. Three days later, I received an email from the Sales Manager, Richard Hansen, with a revised quote. Surprisingly, the new price was significantly lower than the original quote, but it was for 11 windows instead of the 8 I actually needed. Since the pricing was much more competitive, I reached back out and simply asked for the same pricing to be adjusted for the 8 windows I wanted to purchase. Richard responded that the lower price had been sent in error due to a "system glitch" and that Window Nation would not honor it. Mistakes can happen, but what was most disappointing was the company's unwillingness to stand behind the quote they sent or make any effort to find a reasonable solution. As a customer who was genuinely interested in moving forward, it left me feeling that the pricing was inconsistent and that customer satisfaction wasn't a priority. I expected better communication and better customer service from a company of this size. Unfortunately, this experience has caused me to take my business elsewhere.

I was pleasantly surprised by the low-pressure sales approach, which differed from other reviews…read moreI'd seen. The pre-installation process was straightforward and very helpful, giving me a clear understanding of what to expect. Unfortunately, installation day brought several complications. A team of three began installing 16 windows, but just 15 minutes in, one technician badly twisted an ankle and had to leave. The remaining two proceeded to remove all windows on a scorching 90+ degree day before starting replacements, turning my home into an uncomfortably hot and humid environment. While they finished the installation that day, it was an incredibly long shift, from just before 10 AM until 9 PM, requiring my continuous supervision. I noted that a drop cloth was only used for the very first window, which helped with the mess initially but wasn't continued. Another issue was the window color. I had specified a tan/wicker exterior with a white interior, but received entirely white windows. To avoid a 6-8 week delay and a $350 rescheduling fee, I accepted them. They do look good, and the white exterior matches my previous windows, so I'm not overly concerned about this. My primary outstanding concern is a gutter downspout that was removed during installation and never reinstalled. Despite multiple calls (three to the install team, two to the service team), I haven't received any communication or action to rectify this. This lack of follow-up so soon after installation makes me question the reliability of their warranty service.
