Now they are 19 and 16 and are still with this primary care doctor. Dr. Panchal is the best primary care doctor on staff and is always courteous and pays careful attention to your child's needs. She listens intently to the situation and provides the best care. I appreciate her approach to seeking out the best solution for my children's healthcare needs. The team of doctors and nurses at this location has always served patients well.

This is such an amazing place for my kid that I really want others to know. (1) This is an inclusive preschool, which provides abundant opportunities for my kid to observe other kids during play and circle time. The curriculum is set to balance 1:1 therapy time with group circle and play time, and although slowly, my kid learned to interact with other children, and learned to cope with social anxiety. (2) Their teachers really care about the long-term well-being of the kids. Unlike many other therapists who mostly focus on skill expansion (which is a short-term achievable goal), therapists in Kiddoland focus more on fundamental capabilities of the kids, like attending, gross-motor coordination, etc. It may be difficult to see an immediate improvement in the short term, but gradually these activities help my kid to improve his ability across multiple aspects. I'm especially grateful that they have a swimming program every summer for these kids. Now my kid is fond of swimming and is able to swim 25 yards all by himself!! (3) They have lots of activities outside the preschool, which is very rare for an institution to deal with kids on the spectrum. My kid used to be very stressful in a crowded place, but activities like walking in the neighborhood, eating in a restaurant (yes, they do take kids to restaurants from time to time), or even a trip to San Diego and Monterey Bay (summer trip every year!), help him to cope stress and anxiety effectively. (4) Their teachers really care about the kids, and care about the communication with us (parents). They are really busy during the day, but they (even the director Ms Moon) are still willing to chat with us through text messages even till 11pm, to help us understand their program and what needs to be done at home. Really amazing teachers! Overall, I highly recommend Kiddo Land learning centers to all kids with or without special needs!

We were matched with Kaia?, I believe was her name, at first. She called us and made an appointment to come to our home. When the day came, she didn't show up. I texted her and called her with no answer. Six hours later, she finally texted back and didn't even know who I was or that we even had an appointment. Kaia explained that another teacher was switched with her to teach my daughter and that I should have been contacted by her. I explained that it's extremely unprofessional of her to not cancel our appointment and to rely on someone else to pass on the message. She completely wasted my time. She gave me the new teachers, Maria, phone number and told me to contact her. I contacted Maria, rather than her contact me, and set up an appointment. Maria came and played with my daughter but didn't seem like she knew what she was doing. She had textbook knowledge, but you can tell she was inexperienced with kids from the way she interacted with my daughter. We only saw her for around a month. She brought toys that were inappropriate for my daughters age/abilities each week, 13 month old at the time. She made my daughter completely scared of balls. Two weeks in a row, she brought a spikey sensory ball. Both weeks she bounced the ball high repeatedly at my daughter, above and at eye level. She hit my daughter in the face TWICE, not once, but TWICE with the spikey ball. The first time, sure it could have been an accident and I can understand that. The second time, a week later, inexcusable! My daughter kept flinching her eyes and distancing herself from the ball because she was scared. Maria asked why she kept flinching, and laughed at her doing it....and I had to state the obvious that she was scared of the ball. My daughter still distances herself from balls now, it's so unfortunate. I contacted Maria's supervisor, Moon, soon after. She did not return my call for a whole day so I decided to contact my daughters case manager. She happily changed our provider to someone from the Kidango program. Moon finally returned my call but was completely rude and could care less to speak to me. My daughters new teacher from Kidango was AMAZING. It was seriously night and day the difference in professionalism and experience compared to the ladies at kiddo land. My daughters other therapist even told me she's not fond of the services at kiddo land and would never send her kids there. She sees what these centers are like when parents aren't around. We are so glad that we were able to switch providers. I do not recommend kiddoland at all.

Instead we did our FIRST and LAST session in what looked like a storage space . That had countless safety hazards - my son was reaching for a heater, extension cords , personal belongings like purses and bags . My son would also gravitate toward a trampoline that was lend against a wall. No answers to questions of the Likely hood of this happening again . I take my sons therapy very seriously and felt discriminated against. Everyone who came after me or within a few minutes after me was given a proper treatment area( these rooms didn't have personal items or exposed wires ). I will not have my son treated less than . My son was supposed to receive services from this business, but there was a delay. When I called the business to discuss this matter, I spoke to the owner Saba at length. Throughout that call, she was very rude and unprofessional towards me - including cutting me off, not letting me speak, not answering my questions directly, and being just plain rude. Based on that call, there was no way in a million years that I would ever let her meet my son. So there you go. She continues to state that "we NEVER even saw you or served your child". Duh...that's exactly what I said. And this is exactly what I went through when I talked to her on the phone. We went round and round in circles, and my concerns were never addressed. She just doesn't get it. She reported me to her attorney, but her attorney never contacted me. Why? Perhaps because writing an honest Yelp review doesn't constitute defamation. And she also thinks this constitutes cyber bullying. Do you really want your kid with special needs to receive services from someone that thinks a negative Yelp review is cyber bullying and defamation of character? I know what my answer is.

I leaned on my job's network and I had multiple peers singing the praises of Bright Stars for speech therapy. Due to the hurdles I have faced in the past, I was rather pessimistic at first and made some assumptions, that maybe this place would be like others with a long waitlist and would just forget about me. However, Kristen White reached out to me even though there was a waitlist and pulled some strings to assist me in getting care that I need because she saw how bad I was struggling. Her smile and calming tone gave me hope that there was a light at the end of the tunnel with getting my child the help he needs. After the evaluation, we did not have to wait too long before we are connected with Chelsea Miranda. She was an amazing start in my speech therapy journey and I thoroughly enjoyed working with her. My son, Ayden, would run to her in excitement and ready for the educational play. Although she informed me she was relatively new, I feel like her willingness to engage with my son every session and focusing on building a connection won me over with Bright Stars. Due to scheduling issues I am having at the moment, unfortunately we no longer could work with Chelsea. On the other hand, in life when one door closes another door opens, and I could not be more happy to start working with Dakota Noble. When I tell you, I was nearly emotional after our first few sessions because I felt like the insurance commercial, I am finally in good hands. The cool thing about Dakota is that she have a vast background working with autistic children and day one I could tell she was the one (therapist wise of course, don't want my girlfriend mad at me). The way Ayden runs to the center and grabs her hand and take her to the room for their session warms my heart. I am just an engineer that is still figuring out this fatherhood and child services for a special needs child out. Not only has Ayden been building a connection and growing, but she has been an outstanding mentor from a parenting perspective on figuring out how to navigate everything. She is so intelligent, patience, and kind. It is an interesting feeling to not only have your child feeling heard, understood, and seen, but a parent that is fighting to be the best parent they can be feeling the same way is unmatched. So I say all of this because I wanted to show my appreciation of the Bright Stars staff that includes the front desk that has worked with my chaotic schedule too, Candace Carson-Brunt and Carol Cabri. Kristen and Dakota kept sessions fun and engaging while working on oral motor skills, articulation, and vocabulary. Their annual testing and plans were easy to share with her school team, which kept everyone focused on the same goals. As someone with Down Syndrome, speech will always be something my daughter has to work on, but I'm so proud of how articulate she is and that people can understand her. We came to Dr. Sutcliffe after a very strong recommendation from our pediatrician (as well as word of mouth). We garnered incredible insight into our daughter's challenges and her ADHD specifically. Dr. Sutcliffe was able to get us on the correct treatment plan for my daughter's individual needs (she laid out several different options as each child and family have different approaches and needs). We chose medication + behavioral therapy/skill building. Our daughter's issues with medications were not as straightforward as most and Dr. Sutcliffe has an extremely meticulous and thoughtful approach, which got us on the right path and, frankly, changed our daughter's life (as well as the family dynamic which can be greatly impacted). Dr. Sutcliffe is also one of the most caring and passionate doctors I have ever had. She was fantastic with my daughter (and me) and remained vigilant, continually checking in with us on how her progress was going. She was incredibly responsive. We have moved out of the state and one of our big worries was finding someone as amazing as her to continue care. We're still searching...
