From the start, Julia focused on setting the right, achievable goals, and it made all the difference. Because of her expertise, my son was able to meet every milestone we set. Her communication with us as parents is top-notch; after every session, she provides a clear summary of his strengths and areas for improvement, which helps us stay on track at home. Most importantly, my son absolutely loves her and looks forward to every session. We couldn't be happier with the progress he's made! I also want to give a huge shout-out to Tracy at the front desk! She is always so welcoming and helpful.

When we started at Keys to Communication, my daughter was barely speaking--she hardly said any words. After a year of services with Ms. Patricia and Ms. Janet, who were both equally amazing, my daughter is now at an average level for her age. I can't thank the staff enough, all of whom are so kind, for their services and for the wonderful care they provided my daughter while she was a patient at this clinic. I truly recommend this place and their services.

It took nearly three months to secure appointments for my son. The initial appointments were scheduled incorrectly, and I then had to complete additional paperwork to have them corrected, which resulted in further delays in care. Communication from the office has been inconsistent -- each time I called, I spoke with a different staff member and had to re-explain the entire situation. There was also confusion regarding appointment times, despite me notifying the office about schedule changes in advance. That said, I want to be very clear that the therapists -- particularly Ms. Nicole -- have been wonderful. She is passionate, attentive, and clearly cares deeply about her patients. The clinical care itself has been positive. It's unfortunate that the administrative side does not reflect the same level of organization and professionalism as the therapists. I truly hope the practice can improve its scheduling and communication systems, because the clinicians deserve that support. For families who have flexible schedules, this may be a good fit. However, for two working parents who need consistency and clear communication, it was not sustainable for us.

Initially, I was able to sit in on the sessions, and it is apparent that Sanaz loves children and is able to direct her speech services in such a fun way that it doesn't seem like work at all. She immediately established a rapport with him and has now cemented her status as one of his favorite people. Also, not only is she a fantastic speech therapist, she is also well-versed in developmental milestones, what interests little ones these days, and is so patient, realizing that kiddos sometimes just have difficult or challenging days. We are delighted in my son's progress and even his preschool teacher has noted how far along he has come since starting his speech services. As for the office, they have an on-line billing portal which is so convenient, and I haven't had any payment woes once my insurance was established. I've personally seen that they have a closet stocked with dreamy toys that the therapists can use in their sessions, and it is clear just from hanging out in the waiting room that all the therapists really care about their kids. Our family feels very lucky to have landed at Bird-Kern-Dalmia and will forever be grateful to the extremely special and talented Sanaz.

From the very beginning, she took the time to get to know our son Elijah--his personality, what motivates him, and how he learns best. Over time, Elijah has grown to truly know and love her, and that's not always easy with kids! Sanaz has a very special way about her technique. She's patient, creative, and always manages to keep Elijah engaged while also making real progress. It's clear she genuinely cares, not just about speech development, but about building confidence and celebrating each step along the way. As parents of a child who started out nonverbal, we were often anxious and unsure of what progress would look like. Sanaz has such a calming presence--she's reassured us through every stage, helped ease our worries, and has truly earned our trust with Elijah. That peace of mind has been just as meaningful to us as the incredible growth we've seen in him. With her guidance, Elijah has reached so many important milestones. He's developed joint attention, is expressing himself more, identifying objects, and even making requests--things that once felt out of reach. Each new achievement feels like a huge step forward, and we're so thankful to have Sanaz guiding him through this journey. If you're looking for someone who not only knows her craft but also brings warmth, patience, and understanding into every session, I highly recommend Sanaz. She's truly one of a kind!

Krystle uses neurodiversity affirming practices in her services and I really appreciate how she gave my daughter the freedom to decide what she wanted to do during the therapy sessions and kept her interests and needs in mind when interacting with her. Krystle also offered advice and support to me on how I could use strategies to help build my daughter's communication skills at home and in the community. Now that my daughter is a teenager and prefers spending more time with her own age peers, I'm so grateful to Krystle and Karen for starting the monthly AAC outings where my daughter gets to interact and make friends with other AAC users in the community. We have been attending these outings for 3 years now. My daughter has developed some great friendships from these outings and she has so much fun hanging out with them at parks, go hiking, visit farms, go to the movies, etc. It's such a great experience that she gets to do things just like other teenagers and also gets the opportunity to build her communication skills in the community. Thank you Krystle and Karen for all the amazing work you do!!

I am a single father that struggled to find helpful resources for my 6 year old autistic son,…read moreAyden, that is non-verbal. I leaned on my job's network and I had multiple peers singing the praises of Bright Stars for speech therapy. Due to the hurdles I have faced in the past, I was rather pessimistic at first and made some assumptions, that maybe this place would be like others with a long waitlist and would just forget about me. However, Kristen White reached out to me even though there was a waitlist and pulled some strings to assist me in getting care that I need because she saw how bad I was struggling. Her smile and calming tone gave me hope that there was a light at the end of the tunnel with getting my child the help he needs. After the evaluation, we did not have to wait too long before we are connected with Chelsea Miranda. She was an amazing start in my speech therapy journey and I thoroughly enjoyed working with her. My son, Ayden, would run to her in excitement and ready for the educational play. Although she informed me she was relatively new, I feel like her willingness to engage with my son every session and focusing on building a connection won me over with Bright Stars. Due to scheduling issues I am having at the moment, unfortunately we no longer could work with Chelsea. On the other hand, in life when one door closes another door opens, and I could not be more happy to start working with Dakota Noble. When I tell you, I was nearly emotional after our first few sessions because I felt like the insurance commercial, I am finally in good hands. The cool thing about Dakota is that she have a vast background working with autistic children and day one I could tell she was the one (therapist wise of course, don't want my girlfriend mad at me). The way Ayden runs to the center and grabs her hand and take her to the room for their session warms my heart. I am just an engineer that is still figuring out this fatherhood and child services for a special needs child out. Not only has Ayden been building a connection and growing, but she has been an outstanding mentor from a parenting perspective on figuring out how to navigate everything. She is so intelligent, patience, and kind. It is an interesting feeling to not only have your child feeling heard, understood, and seen, but a parent that is fighting to be the best parent they can be feeling the same way is unmatched. So I say all of this because I wanted to show my appreciation of the Bright Stars staff that includes the front desk that has worked with my chaotic schedule too, Candace Carson-Brunt and Carol Cabri. Thank you all and I appreciate you all from the bottom of my heart and I look forward to continuing to work with you all.

Kristen and Dakota kept sessions fun and engaging while working on oral motor skills, articulation, and vocabulary.
