From the start, Julia focused on setting the right, achievable goals, and it made all the difference. Because of her expertise, my son was able to meet every milestone we set. Her communication with us as parents is top-notch; after every session, she provides a clear summary of his strengths and areas for improvement, which helps us stay on track at home. Most importantly, my son absolutely loves her and looks forward to every session. We couldn't be happier with the progress he's made! I also want to give a huge shout-out to Tracy at the front desk! After a year of services with Ms. Patricia and Ms. Janet, who were both equally amazing, my daughter is now at an average level for her age. I can't thank the staff enough, all of whom are so kind, for their services and for the wonderful care they provided my daughter while she was a patient at this clinic. I truly recommend this place and their services.

It took nearly three months to secure appointments for my son. The initial appointments were scheduled incorrectly, and I then had to complete additional paperwork to have them corrected, which resulted in further delays in care. Communication from the office has been inconsistent -- each time I called, I spoke with a different staff member and had to re-explain the entire situation. There was also confusion regarding appointment times, despite me notifying the office about schedule changes in advance. That said, I want to be very clear that the therapists -- particularly Ms. Nicole -- have been wonderful. She is passionate, attentive, and clearly cares deeply about her patients. The clinical care itself has been positive. It's unfortunate that the administrative side does not reflect the same level of organization and professionalism as the therapists. I truly hope the practice can improve its scheduling and communication systems, because the clinicians deserve that support. For families who have flexible schedules, this may be a good fit. However, for two working parents who need consistency and clear communication, it was not sustainable for us.

I really debated if I should write a review for Nupur Tara SLP. Nupur herself is a nice person,…read morehowever the speech therapy services are subpar and I would not recommend this office. I wish some other parents had reviewed this place so that I could have saved some time. My son and I arrived to our appointment on time. There was noone at the desk or anyone to greet us for about 20 minutes or so (it felt even longer). Finally, I saw someone come at the desk and that person said nothing. So I went and asked, "Excuse me, is this the place for Nupur Tara speech services" and she replied yes; I said ok, do I need to fill out any forms? She said yes, and pointed to a thick packet of forms. I said ok, and I got to filling them out. Nupur came out about 5min later after I got the forms and said "Oh you haven't filled them out? Ok just come and you can fill it out inside the room." We went inside a room and sat on small children chairs for the 35min assessment. The entire time I filled out form after form and kept answering questions about my child. The assessment of my child was very minimal, no cognitive or education questions were asked and I as the parent was asked ALL of the questions about my child instead of him being assessed. My child was given some puzzles and asked to point to a few things, and there was long pauses from Nupur on what she wanted to ask or see, in a sense her observation seemed more "visual" than cognitive. I had to speak up a few times to help her and have my child talk so that she can get an example of my child's abilities. It was very uncomfortable. I was charged $250 for this 35min of "assessment," and I am still waiting for the report. Most locations are $95-120 for 30min session, so this place is quite over priced. I also didn't get to meet the actual speech therapist that my son would be working or given his full assessment. Overall, I left very uncomfortable. Since this was my first ever speech therapy assessment, I didn't know what to expect, so I thought ok, maybe this is normal so I will think about this place and compare to a few other locations. Now let's compare this to Learning to Succeed. I was greeted right away, the speech therapist greeted my son and her entire focus was on him. We went to an assessment room where I was given an adult chair to sit and observe. The therapist spent the entire one hour assessment session with him, on the carpet floor, giving him a full TELD-4 standardized exam, talking to him, conversating with him and playing with him to understand his abilities. She asked me a few questions about him. She provided a full assessment report, and compared his results to the national level and her suggestions on how he can improve and thrive. This full session was $95. As you can see, this is how an assessment should be done. Thus, I can't recommend Nupur Tara SLP.

We went there about 2 years, give or take, first as a referral from Kaiser and then as private client. When we first started, my son had about 15 words and we spent many sessions just trying to get him to sign or say 'Open' to open the box of toys and he would refuse. By working with Miss Karem on what we need to work on at home and then persisting and practicing it, he got more words and then sentences, and then conversational skills. For the longest time, he was talking but not conversational. He would utter what he needed but no response when we asked him further questions. I still remember the day when he asked me a question, I responded, and he asked a follow-up question based on my answer. That's the beginning of conversational skills. Today my son talks constantly. He uses his pronouns, plurals, and possessive (Miss Karem's toys). He will also rephrase if I don't understand him. He use words to explain why he is upset. At home I read him books and asked him WH questions. We have a lot to thank Speakable for his growth. Lastly, on the logistic side of things, Speakable is easy to reach if you need to reschedule appointment or change credit card that was on file. A human person will answer the call. Parking is also not an issue when I go for the appointment.

Late last year, my daughter was diagnosed with Autism and our insurance provider gave us a list of…read morespeech therapists without our area to choose from. Out of a list of about 20, only about 10 of them were within a 30 min distance from my home. I contacted 10 businesses and I either left messages for them or, I flat out was told they didn't have availability for my child. Only ONE of them called me back out of the messages I left. I was really grateful for the callback too and it was only about an hour or so after I left the message being that I didn't know their business was opened yet. That person ended up being Radha, the owner of this business, Sparkling Speech Therapy. Right off the bat, her voice was warm and welcoming. She informed me that they had only one availability to offer for my daughter and I panicked. While waiting for call backs. I had thoroughly researched each one of the businesses I contacted. Sparking Speech was at the tippy top of my list. Take a look at their vibrant and informative website and tell me you don't agree with me! So even though I didn't have transportation at the time to take my daughter, I took the slot because it was truly a once in a lifetime opportunity to work with such a great business such as Radha's. Let me tell you, from the first meeting, Radha and her team did not disappoint! As a mother worried about finding exemplary services for her daughter on the spectrum, it was a breath of fresh air to be able to find a business and team of women who would advocate for my daughter as passionately as I would. My daughter meets with Ms. Janel weekly and for a short time we had the pleasure of Ms. Morgan assisting her in working with my daughter. Seeing the HUGE difference from Day 1 to now about a little over a month of weekly 45 min therapy, my daughter has flourished. She's making such great progress with being exposed to sign language and increasing her social skills. My favorite thing about working with Ms. Janel is that you can tell she truly loves working with all her kids. She has a such a kind heart and is extremely patient. My daughter is all over the place and it's rare for her to stick to one activity for longer than a few minutes. Ms. Janel doesn't skip a beat. She goes with the flow and adds herself into my daughter's world by playing with what she's playing with or incorporating activities that she knows will peak her interest. The 45 minutes goes by way too fast and now my daughter doesn't want to leave when our time is done! This is a stark contract from my daughter's earlier sessions where she would frequently hand lead me to the door telling me she was done. This business is 30 minutes away from my house. It is worth the time and gas and miles it takes to visit weekly. Believe me when I say, I cannot rave enough about them. I'm hoping my daughter will be lucky enough to receive her therapy from Ms. Janel for as long as we can. So if you have a kiddo in need of speech therapy, please consider Sparkling Speech Therapy, you won't regret it, I promise!
