I requested a two-way zipper replacement on my jacket. When I went to pick it up, the seamstress admitted they had forgotten to install a two-way zipper--even though they originally said they could do it. There was no offer to fix the mistake or provide a refund, which was very disappointing. OMG. dropped off my husbands suit pants and was told to come back in a week. called before going and ask if I can come to pick it up - Nancy the worker at that place said sure your jeans are ready - ???? jeans?? After clarifying my husband went and picked it up in a hurry. Not an issue right? Wrong - got a phone call from Nancy saying you have suit pans that belong to someone else and your husband's pants are here ready for pick uo..... turned out the pattern color was same - 10 sizes bigger then my husband's Had to go exchange hoping to get the ones we left and ensure alternations were correct. I would put zero stars if I could. Here is why. I just needed to replace an elastic band on my skirt - if I had a sewing machine, it would be a half-hour task, but I don't have one. They charged $40 for this and told me to come in a week (!) In a week's time, nothing was done, so they told me to come in two days one more time. In two days, nothing was done again, so it took one more day, and I finally received my skirt back. One would think that they would at least do their best to do their job properly, but no - the quality of work was so poor, that I had to fix the seams after them by hand! Having paid $40, coming three times and receiving something done so shamefully poor. I am so frustrated. Never again I will use their service. read more

I brought 2 pairs of jeans there to be hemmed. There were a few other customers in line and whom they were helping when I arrived. Thus appeared to be pretty busy. Standing in line I was looking for some sort of pricing list for services, but there was none. Having never used an alteration service before I didn't know what to expect. I found the service to be quite efficient and pleasant when they sized my jeans for hemming. No complaints there. Their back room is full of clothing lining their walls so they must be busy. My complaint would be that to hem one pair of jeans (euro style - where they add the original hem back to the jean), costs $24 plus gst! And their service time was 6 days! I have since heard that there are other places that charge half of this price and get it done within 2 days. In the end - the work they did was good and finished 6 days later as they promised. I needed a button replaced on a blazer, and not only were the owners quite pleasant, but the price was extremely reasonable! (I even offered to pay the extra $5 to have it done in an hour, and was told that that was not necessary.) I would happily recommend this place! read more

Took a $200 pair of jeans to get hemmed and they butchered them. I originally asked for a euro hem, which would leave the original hem. This place didn't bother to tell me at the time that the hem would end up a completely different color. When I asked why they wouldn't let me know or phone me to ask to do a regular hem, they told me they don't have time for that. They also used a completely different color of thread on the new hem. The jeans have a beige thread and they used bright white. It's very noticeable. The owner/manager also told me that I have "a problem" implying that being unsatisfied with their work was unacceptable. I would advise to stay away from this place. read more

Horrible servious!!! Arrived to get some pants and jeans hemmed.... Owner was on cellphone! I requested my True Religion jeans to be hemmed with the original bottom, when I got them back they were not original hem.... I inquired with the owner she claims their machine can only hem to that size of stitch.... Ummmm if your machine cannot do the hem job tell the patron.... I've had over three pairs hemmed at another tailor and should have went back to them. Also take note they were not any less expensive the pseudo original hem cost a hefty 24 plus gst! The customer service is so poor here, with pricing a little high and time to complete alterations very long, I don't recommend you take your items here. Sadly they lie about when items will be ready, and are rude to customers. Many reasonable and timely options for alterations here in the south end; the convenient stop in the mall here after a purchase will not be worth your time,money and aggravation. I took in a leather jacket with a hole in the arm. I had asked many questions about how it would be repaired before agreeing to leave it there. The service that was requested, discussed, and agreed upon by the staff was not done professionally, and it appears that the task was approached with little or no care. The repair that was discussed I dropped my jacket off was for a professional to sew a "zig-zag" to simply support an adhered/iron-on patch (applied from the inside). There are no patches. There are more holes in the leather than before, and the heavy stitches now cover more than the original hole's length and width. We will never know how the repair would have looked if it had been completed as agreed, as the staff made a gross error and didn't even attempt to do it this way. The result from the repair is extraordinarily poor service, but has resulted in more damage to the jacket, that is now un-repairable. In addition to the demolition of said jacket, the business has fallen short of the basic standards of customer service. I was told when dropping off that you would be open on Monday, but when I arrived you had already closed up(at least 30 mins early). If you are short staffed this should never result in cutting corners on repairs or closing early. Not having staff should not be reflected by generating poor quality repairs, or not maintaining the hours of the establishment of which you rent from. There have been many excuses provided for how this went wrong. A business should be accountable on the rare occasion that they make an error and cause damage, rather than blame such an extreme error on staff shortages or other such nonsense. read more
