Well, this is certainly a first for me... never in my life have I felt so impassioned by a sandwich that I knew I needed to leave a review... while still eating the sandwich. The sandwiches are huge and affordable! Personally, I love the Bomb sandwich because it's thick and has just the right amount of cream cheese. The BLT is also solid, simple but satisfying for a hungry belly. Sometimes, they seem to go a bit heavy on the onions, though. The photo doesn't do the sandwich justice. It doesn't look like a lot, but you can tell the first half I ate the chicken was dropping out. Bread was warm and fresh, and overall the sandwich was good tasting. Few things I didn't like were (#1) the tables were dirty and (#2) it was raining outside and they had a commercial grade fan going inside so it made for a cold and uncomfortable environment to eat in. The location is very convenient as it is very close to my work. Staff is very friendly and the service is very quick. Never wait longer than 10 minutes for my order. I've known about this place for quite a while, and I've never been disappointed with any of the food I've gotten here. If you're familiar with the Miramar warehouse zoo, you'll know that these little deli joints are all over the place, but this one is different. Everything on the menu is prepared well and quickly and the clientele all seem to be repeaters who have been there many times. I drive a truck for a company in the area, and if I find myself hungry in the neighborhood, this is my first choice. Today's choice was a hot pastrami sandwich with the works, a fruit fowl with watermelon, cantaloupe and pineapple and a Gatorade. All were customarily excellent. Ordered breakfast on a bagel and I got some way over seasoned egg in a bagel that was a bit stale. I asked for bacon and only got a few crumbs of bacon. Not any better than a ghetto donut shop bagel. I figured I could maybe just try something else next time but what really lost me as a future customer is their soda machine was disgusting. It had gunk and build up. When I dispensed ice, about 4-5 fruit nats flew out. If health department seen that they wouldn't be happy. I skipped the ice and got just soda, then realized the soda was flat. If the front of house is that dirty I could only imagine what their BOH looks like. Restaurant cleanliness is NOT there. Worker is just on his phone instead of cleaning the dirty tables. I've been coming here once or twice a week for the last few months. They have decent sandwiches but so do a LOT of places especially in the Miramar area. What really makes the difference is service and Creative Deli does not have a clue what service is. I picked up a sandwich last Monday (today is Friday) and also bought a Butterfinger bar. When I took a bite it was so gross I don't even have words to describe it. Suffice to say it was bad enough for me to go to the Nestle Butterfinger website and look up how to read the date codes and it turns out the bar was made in July of 2008 (this is April 2010). When I told the proprietor today that he sold me something that had been expired for more than a year and showed him the dates on the other Butterfinger bars on his shelf all he gave me was a dumb look. No apology or offer to refund or credit me. I won't be going back there ever again but I suspect that he does not care about losing a regular customer since he certainly demonstrated it with his actions. read more

I decided to be daring and try one of the local Deli's on Nancy Ridge Dr., right next to my work. Creative Deli sounded the coolest, so I decided to try my luck there! Needless to say I was pretty impressed. The restaurant was pretty quiet, allowing me to rest my mind mind away from a busy cubicle-castle workplace. The food portions were also pretty decent sized!
