My best friend and I decided to splurge and have a spa day, so we went to Creative Chakra Spa. The minute we arrived, we were welcomed with cool mint- and lemon-infused water. There were misters above us that sprayed us, and the area where we waited was so cool and beautiful. You could hear the wind through the trees and all the crystals chiming and tinkling. The massage room was actually an outdoor area with a veranda over it, so we got to feel the natural breeze and hear the birds singing while we were getting our massages and facials. Sandy uses all her own materials, which is wonderful because I have sensitive skin, so I knew exactly what products were being put on my body. Sandy brings such joy and light to what she does, and anybody who gets to spend time with her I consider very lucky. My best friend and I had a ball. Would highly recommend. read more

Sandi (the owner of this "business") reported my review so it would be hidden, showing her inability to take accountability for my experience at her house. Since I am concerned about the safety of other potential victims, I am reposting my review: I rarely leave reviews, but I feel obligated to share my experience to protect others from what was a misleading and honestly disturbing encounter. I booked what was advertised as a professional, side-by-side couples massage with additional amenities like hot aromatherapy, a full body steam, and chocolates - none of which were delivered. The massage itself lasted around 20 minutes, was not side-by-side, and took place in a setup that felt anything but professional. Additionally, the massage table linens were dirty, which only heightened the feeling of unsanitary and unsafe conditions. The location was changed last-minute (around 30 minutes before the appointment), directing us to a residential backyard that was not disclosed ahead of time. Upon arrival, the setup felt unregulated, unlicensed, and uncomfortable, with visible neighbor security cameras pointing near the exposed shower area - something I didn't fully notice until I was already naked and vulnerable, which was extremely distressing. Despite declining to use the shower, the owner repeatedly insisted we do so, adding to the discomfort and feeling of being violated. To make matters worse, I was pressured to take photos in the bathtub, something that made me feel even more uneasy and objectified - definitely not part of a relaxing or respectful spa experience. After raising these concerns directly and professionally, the owner failed to take accountability. Instead of a refund or genuine apology, I received lengthy emotional appeals, gaslighting, and even unsolicited life advice. She deflected responsibility, minimized my concerns, and repeatedly asked if I was "just angry" or "doing this for the money," which only worsened an already unacceptable experience. This is not just about unmet expectations - it's about safety, boundaries, and truth in advertising. What was promised was not delivered, and the conditions were inappropriate, unprofessional, and made me feel deeply uncomfortable as a woman. I've since learned that this is not an isolated incident - others have had similar experiences over the years, which makes it even more alarming that nothing has changed. I want to share my completely objective experience here, in hopes to assist others. 30min before our appointment, we were redirected to another address. I was perplexed to find out that the address led us to a house in a residential community. I gave it the benefit of the doubt. Once allowed in, 15min past the scheduled time, it turns out that it was a spa set up in someone's backyard. We were under the impression that the couples massage would be a side by side massage. However, there was only one masseuse that took turns giving one of us a massage while the other sat in a personal backyard sauna. We went through with it because we felt pressured with it all. There wasn't a moment where she allowed us to sit together alone - so we never had the chance to discuss and leave prior to starting. The MOST disturbing part was, that on 2 separate occasions, she insisted we showered completely naked in her back yard. But the thing is, the shower was exposed to her neighbors' views. I was absolutely disturbed to find that at least one of her neighbors had a camera directly pointed at the shower. And to finish it off, while we were in the hot tub (it was the kind of personal tub you'd find in someone's backyard NOT a professional spa), she took photos of us and only asked after the fact. Negative Stars. DECEPTIVE, FALSE ADVERTISING. DON'T BE FOOLED. 90% of the photos on the site are stock photos and not the real thing. If you still decide to go with making an appointment, here are my tips.  Tip 1 - Read the Yelp reviews - the one star ones because those are the people who actually experienced it.  Tip 2 - ask about location because you might not be getting the space that you see on the website.  Tip 3 - If you are booking a couples massage, make sure to ask for 2 massage therapists (didn't know that this would be a question) and not one massage and one reiki person that you didn't ask or care for.  Tip 4 - Ask to see the proper spa and massage certifications. I didn't see anywhere since it was a random house and not a professional entity. ASKING ME TO REMOVE MY REVIEW:  I will start off this review by saying that the owner reported me to Yelp and had my original review removed. Yelp said that they removed it because "reviewers shouldn't be threatening businesses with negative reviews (or offering to remove negative reviews they've already posted) as a way to extract a payment." Here's the catch - the owner, Sandie West actually texted me and asked me to remove my review for 2 months, which I assume that she hopes I will forget to repost. So, I asked for a refund. She reported me to Yelp that I was trying to extract a payment, when SHE WAS THE ONE THAT ASKED ME TO REMOVE MY REVIEW DUE TO HER DECEPTIVE WEBSITE. I wasn't going to remove my review because she "worked on the computer for 12 hrs a day to restructure her business after Covid". Not sure how that's my problem. She's manipulative and if you read the other reviews, you'll see how she twists words around to make it sound like it's not her fault.  She also said that "we discussed it when you called and you said you wanted the bath". First, nowhere on her website clearly indicated that there were multiple locations for her "spa". She did not tell me there were different locations on the phone either. If she had asked, I would have told her that I didn't care for the bath - because I didn't. Then she said that I called the week of and this was the only thing available - which she didn't tell me on the phone. EXCUSES and more importantly, WOULD A LEGIT BUSINESS ACT THIS WAY? ​Note: This business is not part of the Better Business Bureau®, but I plan on sending a complaint to them anyways. TO THE ACTUAL EXPERIENCE:  Getting to the spa - You have to meet at the spa's headquarters where a Complimentary Car Service will take you to the spa - the HQ address is on Ventura, but there's not a store front (RED FLAG). We were driven around the corner into a neighborhood and it was not in the hills where it was a big nice house/mansion with a beautiful valley view or a pool. It was someone's house.  The 'Spa' - We entered through the side door to the backyard of the house where the backyard was decorated. It was charming, but not what we had expected but we went along with it.We had to go through the house to go to the bathroom. My boyfriend tried a door and it was locked and someone on the other side yelled "Wrong door". That was probably the funniest part of the night. Couples Massage - They gave us robes and slippers - which both were too small for my boyfriend.  We had bought the couples massage thinking we would each get a massage therapist, but instead it was Sandie who did the massage and a reiki gal who worked on energy, where you don't feel a thing. It was literally the worst massages we have ever had. Sandie was 'massaging' me, mostly with some oil that was everywhere and it was in no way a full body massage. She constantly left me to do something else. Apparently, the sprinklers came on at the neighbor's house and my boyfriend could hear it as it was right next to him.  My boyfriend said she hardly even worked on his sore spots and the pressure was super light.  Outdoor Shower - Located in the back corner, the cheap outdoor shower was not on a stable foundation and moved around a lot.  Infrared Sauna -  Nothing special as this is a standard portable infrared sauna that you can purchase for your house for personal use. My parents have one at their house. This one was also not on a stable foundation and every thing you moved, it would squeak.  Bath -  This one I never cared for. She came and said that the water was only lukewarm as the hot wasn't working (who wants to take a bath in lukewarm water?)  Overall - We were shuffled from station to station and never really had time to ourselves. It was a bit hectic as Sandie was running around and showing up with random fruit or taking us to the next station. If you were going to rent out your backyard with spa amenities, then I would just give us the space to do what we want for the hour.  She requested that you pay with Venmo (another red flag). It was the worst $525 + tip that I have ever spent. I REGRETTED 100% THAT I DID NOT GO TO A REAL PROFESSIONAL SPA. read more

Sandie gave me the most lovely, relaxing massage last week! I have chronic pain due to scoliosis so it's not easy for me to find the right massage therapist. She knew exactly what to do to ease my pain and I left feeling better than I have in a long time. The environment of Creative Chakra is beautiful. The current location (Encino) is full of beautiful greenery, a hammock, fire pit, spa, outdoor shower, and a couple of areas to just sit and relax. I will definitely be back in the future. read more

I loved this place but I know it's not going to be everyone's cup of tea for a spa. You have to be into unusual small businesses with a different creative flair. If you want a more stereotypical / conservative / minimalist vibe, go to Massage Envy or Burke Williams spa or an upscale hotel spa. If this is a gift you are giving someone then ask yourself if the receiver is more of a free spirit, yoga type or a bit more conservative or "uptight". Not to say that anything really weird happened here but it's just not the right fit for someone that likes a very stream line, normal type of spa in the same way that they probably wouldn't be at home in a small business artsy style yoga studio / coffee house rather than a more minimalist corporate styled one. If the person you are giving a spa experience to prefers new everything, new style- new cars, etc. Then this may not be the place for them. It's eclectic and home styled. This place is a home styled spa and more of a free spirited, energy work meets body work vibe, not a corporate designed place. The neck and face and head (TMJ focus for me) and reflexology foot massage I had from Sandy was great. She asked my pain points and i said my neck has been hurting and she was great with my neck and all of it. I liked the music playlist (ambient - no words of course) and the massage table was comfortable with a very soft blanket. There are cars on the main road outside passing by that you can hear and I heard that as a complaint but it didn't bother me personally. So if you are someone very easily disturbed by outside noise then this may not be the right place for you. If know that you are a bit more open minded (meaning not expecting a Starbucks / predictable type of corporate style spa) with your business and spa expectations that this may be a good place for you. If you want a more straight ahead, what you typically expect spa then maybe try a hotel spa down the street or Massage Envy type corporate chain place because it will likely be more of what you are after. read more

I had requested an appointment online and hadn't heard anything in response, so I called to book a couples massage. The massage includes smoothie or champagne and what sounded like a patio with a view of sailboats going by on the ocean or harbor. Over the phone, when I booked the appointment, I gave someone my card number to book. She said she would text with confirmation right after. I didn't receive a text for a while, so I texted instead and asked for clarification on the price and for confirmation of our appointment. She kindly replied and said I would "for sure" have the pre paid price, which was $298 total vs. the regular price at $262 ea. Great! We arrived on our appointment day, a little bit early, and called for the free parking only to find out that our appointment was somehow down for the following day. I was very disappointed as this was an anniversary gift. She said, " I never do this because my prices are already so good, but I will give you 50% off next time you come in." Which is a nice gesture, but the wording didn't feel great. She also texted me later and said, "Nothing was pre paid," suggesting that we can't receive the 50% off she just offered. Even though I gave somebody my card over the phone. I sent her screenshots and then she decided to tell me that the card didn't go through, but why wouldn't you tell me that at the time of booking, a week ago when I gave the card number. Originally, the situation was disappointing because of scheduling errors, and then it just got worse. And driving around the building, the patio didn't look special, and it would be an obstructed view of the ocean anyways, so ultimately, I'm glad it didn't work out here. read more

Had a really fabulous massage from Julie (great name! ;)) today! She really listened and focused on the areas I mentioned with just the right amount of pressure. Chef's kiss! The website made the booking process easy, you just request your three top times and dates, and then Sandie the owner will send you an email confirming, or I assume offering alternatives if none of the ones are available, but I was able to book late last night for an afternoon appointment today which was so awesome. As far as the ambience, you definitely feel like you are in someone's home, not necessarily a world-class spa, but that's what I was expecting from the pics; it was homey and very relaxing. A little urban oasis. I loved being able to have an outdoor cabana massage. I'm not 100% sure but it seems like that's the only space they offer which was perfect for me especially in these pandemic times. You do here some street noise and random neighbor/crow sounds haha, but that's because you are in a residential neighborhood in Marina del Rey - so none of that bothered me. I do sincerely ALMOST feel bad leaving this review... but I'd feel worse not leaving one as a clear statement/warning of what to expect for some potential people or couples looking at this option. Just as an account of facts... this service/business is grossly marketed as everything that it is not and I say that from an understanding point of view that most businesses embellish their service at least slightly. There was no parking (adverse to advertisement), we spent an additional 20 minutes looking for street parking in Venice. After more confusion. The owner led us to a residential glass door to the. lead us up a stairway that smelled like it had used cigarettes as it's mortar holding it together. To then lead us onto the top surface of a GARAGE, just outside of her personal apartment (which I was shocked, I had seen this from the street and surely thought that was the spa's storage area, not the spa itself. From there, the energy just was not relaxing at all. We felt hovered over as if the owner was trying to engage with us so much in order to prevent us from having a second to leave. She presented us with "chakra" water, which was actually just glasses with colored bottoms and tap water mixed with unknown lemon 'stuff' in it. The two beds were hard to tell if they were freshly cleaned. Even in the dark. unable to have a private moment to speak on what we thought because the owner and her assitant didn't really leave the space at all, we sadly did lay down. And then from there I will save any readers a novel and just say that it was obvious they both had some experience, but there was no rhythm and obviously no order or process, even face down it was obvious to feel two people sporadically working around each other, while also trying to have small talk with us?!?!? About the owners other businesses?!?! Add on what sounded like a 2014 MacBook Air as a speaker complete with digital ads on pandora or YouTube, and the sounds of near by partying neighbors cars motorcycles etc..... feeling relaxed was something that would have taken more discipline that I am capable of having. From there. Owner had me pay via Venmo or Apple Pay... while using a calculator to tell me how much I should tip..... which is extremely alarming considering that she took all my credit card information over the phone.... I'm not a paranoid person but after leaving this review I have fully locked that card. Especially because considering some of the angry review-responses left by this same owner on similar reviews. (They weren't wrong) $320 would have been better spent on a number of things, just not this. Again this is not an egotistical review, but rather a conscious obligation I feel I must make. Because... just no. If you are reading this. Please make sure the place has changed first. If the owner is reading this. I implore you to completely update your website, or make a new one with accurate expectations - because my ONE-star review is largely and specifically because you obviously market this as something that it is not. And the only way you wouldn't be aware of that is if you are completely in dilution...which if so, is the one reason I might feel bad leaving this review. Where if you had marketed this as a $40 "block from the beach massage on top of my garage" Then there would be nothing to be upset about at all. I'll start this review with complete and utter respect for this business and the business owner Sandie. It is not my intention to hurt the reputation of this business but I think this review will help shed light on the many issues my mother and I faced while visiting this spa. My mother and I were gifted a spa treatment by my aunt who spent nearly $400 for what she believed would be an hour massage, the option of choosing between a foot scrub, hot stones or a chakra healing sound bowl treatment and a vegan dessert with champagne. Sounds amazing right? From start to finish, this was a very off-putting experience. The location of the spa is right by the marina del rey beach area, so it is essentially a tourist attraction, which means lots of people and absolutely no parking. Sandie (The business owner) had texted me to inform me that there would be parking at the spa upon arriving. (there wasn't any) she also mentioned there would be free street parking, again.. (there wasn't any) So we ended up paying $5 for parking on the beach, which is about a 5 minute walk from the "spa" The parking situation wasn't upsetting though, I'm from LA, I understand the influx of crowds the beaches attract. no worries. The "Spa" by the way isn't quite what you'd perceive a spa to be, nontraditional to say the least. It's in a cute little 3 floor condominium on a side street by the beach. When my mother and I arrived, Sandie's behavior towards us made us feel unwelcomed. I understand we are still actively in a pandemic but her actions when speaking to us about the spa process was as if we had "WE ARE SICK AND HAVE COVID" written on our foreheads. I understand that this kind of business attracts many different kinds of people and precaution is necessary.. but she was a bit...pretentious. She greeted us when lemongrass tea and ran inside while my mother and I drank it on her outdoor seating area. The tea was lovely. We then were told to walk to the front of the condo complex and she walked us upstairs to her unit which honestly looked like a shelter. The ambiance of the "spa" was weird. It's outdoor and a bit of a mess. The decor is dated. Could use an upgrade in paint, wood, upholstery...etc...Sandie was joined by another masseuse who began to ask both my mother and I what we were looking for and it all just seemed so premature, Sandie looked uncertain of her capabilities and I could just feel her discomfort. I then was offered to work with the other masseuse, being that I had IT band and sciatica issues. So they gave us both robes and slides to change into but there is no private changing area!!! everything was out in the open and my mother and I felt so embarrassed because we had no privacy to get nude. Now I will say, my masseuse was great, I forget his name but he was super attentive to my trouble areas and I felt relaxed the entire time, he listened and knew what he was doing. I've had better massages but I think he might've been new to the industry, trying to get more hours in or whatever. He was good but entry level. Now being that we were given a cup a tea before the massage, like any normal human being.. I had to pee after laying down for an hour. Now remember this epic foot massage and hot stone situation we were supposed to be offered as a part of the package? After my masseuse finished, sandie came rushing over with a bag full of sugar and a warm rag.. I told her I needed to PLEASE use the restroom before she began the scrub and she basically held me hostage to the bed and told me it would be "super fast" and to "just wait one second" I literally was forced to hold in my pee so she could give me a 30 second sugar scrub! for that i would have rather got up to use the bathroom. Anyways, she then proceeded to scrub my mother the same way and boom over. Next she had us sit in the sauna (that was nice) while we waited an additional 30-40 minutes for the champagne and vegan dessert. I got a chance to ask my mother how her experience went and unfortunately she had a dreadful time also. She mentioned that the table she laid on for her massage smelled like sweat as if another body was just recently on it and Sandie lacked massage expertise. She noted that she barely applied any pressure at all and felt like it was an infant rubbing her with oil for an hour. *sigh* Once my mother and I ate and drank, we left, and although we did not enjoy our time we still tipped anyway which Sandie did not seem grateful for. I handed her $35 in tips for both her and the gentleman who massaged me and she looked down at it like it was some kind of chump change. weird. One thing I will say is that Sandie was very communicative and prompt. I think this spa is conceptually appealing but Sandie, you need a business team to help elevate your spa. You need to invest in the right individuals to help you so your business can thrive. Work on customer service experience, upgrading the décor and coming up with a better process. read more

I tried CCSpa with my gf and the the arrival in the sad apartment building, through the narrow dark hallways, to arriving in this make shift pseudo Venice peace love vibe, to having to wait 20 minutes to the other therapist showing up, to the quart of oil thy must have poured onto me, to the average massage, where the pressure was too little although I was distracted by the oil in my head, hair to them standing around at the end and then practically demanding my email address, to then having to pay $335 for two one hour massages to running home and taking the longest shower to get the oil off of me it was simply - awful. Not what I expected at all. This felt like an amateur operation on a shoestring. Firstly, it was an odd location for a "spa" - It's in the middle of a dark apartment building that is two blocks off the beach (i.e. there is no full beach in view as telegraphed by the numerous owner photos). All the massage tables were in one room, so not as much privacy as expected. The place also felt dated and cluttered, with one bathroom door not able to close fully. We had chosen Creative Chakra because it was close to where we were staying and had an above-average rating. Sadly, once again I was fooled by previous reviewers (Assuming they're all real; Some of the Yelp profiles look quite dubious...hmmm). As for my massage, I can say with certainty that it was the worst I've ever had. Very low pressure was applied, with mostly light, brushing motions and too much oil. The trigger points in my upper back were barely attended to, and I left only slightly looser than when I returned. Even the background music was sometimes cheesy, with a woman singer whispering "relax" in one song that had me rolling my eyes. And at one point I could hear the scraping sound of people moving furniture in the apartment above. After slipping into my robe (which was hard to do modestly in front of the masseuses working at other tables). I went to shower, already feeling a little miffed. What I found was a dark, musty bathroom with a cold, damp floor; and no soap to be found. But with hot enough water and some shampoo I was able to get most of the oil off. I had the pleasure of drying off with a towel that smelled of mold. Joy. A 1-star experience. My daughter also reported a bad massage, and my wife said hers was "OK". Since the wife had reported 1 decent massage on a previous visit; and since the owner seemed friendly, giving us a slight discount (about 10%), I had grudgingly added a star. But based on the owner's bizarre response, I am removing it. We won't be back. Per owner response: Funny how you re-interpreted my words and also snuck in some misleading self-promotion. I never said my wife had 2 great experiences; I don't believe for one second that you posted 40+ photos of the beach because your patrons asked you to; And I do not recall the ocean being "outside your door" which strategically omits the word "just." (With that kind of nebulous wording, the ocean is truly "outside all our doors"). And I would have asked for help with towels or soap if there had been anyone around; there wasn't (and you were busy). Seriously don't be fooled by their website or any photos or services mentioned. My Anniversary day with my husband was completely ruined because of our experience here. Awful!!!! Not to mention that we drove an hour to get to this supposedly magical place on the beach. No private room. Completely out in the open in a condominium area. The place was overlooked by the neighbors above with no privacy. The so called calming massage had an ongoing vacuum running in the background probably from the neighbors window next door. Sheets smelled and were old. They had a cat freely wondering around. Don't get me wrong I love animals, but was not expecting to have cat over my head or my massage table. Not what I signed up for. The bathroom OMG!!!!!!!! Dirty dirty dirty. My husband was completely disgusted when he walked in although it was some what cleaned up by the time I went in to shower. Total AWFUL experience. We didn't even risk trying the food they had to offer or using the small outdoor tub they had set up as a jacuzzi. All we could think of was just run after the massage was over. Then she asked us what we were going to pay since we had signed up for the fireside (not fireside at all), just a small gas fire pit they had set up. We told her we had seen the offer on the website for $325 and she said I had to show her something because she's not the one who updated the website. WHAT??????? Place definitely didn't seem as though they have different departments handling these things for them. Then she had the audacity to ask for 20% gratuity for each massage. Everyone BEWARE!!!! We are standing outside CreativeChakra for our 2pm appt and it is now 225pm. We have knocked and called several times but no answer. Our appt was booked, paid, and confirmed several weeks in advance. I hope that Sandie, the owner, comes out any minute with a great big apology and clarification of this so that I could change this to a 5 star review. But so far, standing out in the cold with my wife waiting for her birthday gift. *** UPDATE Sandie eventually called 1.5 hrs later and apologized and gave us a full refund. She was very kind and apologetic and so I feel badly giving 2 stars but I just want people to be aware that we never ended up getting the massage that we scheduled , especially because it took me months to plan a weekday off for this day and we were totally stood up- whether intentional or not. read more

The sacred environmental was beautiful with the location at the beach and decor reminded me of being back in Bali. I felt genuine care from the Theripest and the body work I received was the best I ever had. I only gave it four stars because I haven't checked out the entire place. They create private spa experiences and they have private spa suites with private showers and they were all booked becuse I booked last minute . I love this place! I have often used it for private spa parties and retreats! My first gathering was a baby shower here with a very special group of women and then a baby blessing a few months later! Creative Chakra Spa practically took care of every detail for me. The ladies for the baby shower were spoiled and the elements and specialness this spa brought to each person that attended! My last few gatherings, Creative Chakra Spa had sound baths, fireside full moon ceremonies, Ocean walks, Beach (On the Ocean) Yoga and dancing! My elite guest, clients, and I love the energy, special treatment and sacredness we have experienced! I recommend Creative Charka Spa to everyone. I'm a licensed massage therapist, as is my friend who accompanied me, and we left this spa feeling certain that our "therapists" were playing massage and had no training. So many red flags. We sat outside for 20 minutes after the start of our appointment because they were not ready. Then when we entered there was no privacy and we basically had to just change in front of each other. In addition, Sandie would never announce herself when she entered 2-3 times as we were changing for God knows what reason. The massage was the worst of my life for too many reasons to list, so I'll just say imagine your nightmare massage as far as technique, pressure, flow, and time-and that was my experience. In addition, after we said we wanted no add-ons they did a leg and foot scrub on each of us for 10-15 min. It was too rough to the point that if I had shaved my legs that day, I probably would've started bleeding. Our bodies felt like they were held hostage as the pointless session went on forever. We signed up for 90 min sessions but were trapped for 3 hours. All I kept thinking was I want my body back and stop touching me. If I had had a clock I would have realized they went and hour over. Just stupidity. And then Sandie had the audacity to ask for 20% gratuity and reviews right after. When my friend mentioned she was a massage therapist you should have seen the look in her eyes. We did call the massage board to verify if she had ever attended school because let me say I wouldn't advise anyone to go there because your safety is not guaranteed, if nothing else energy wise. I tend to have a love for other therapists who work their magic, so I never thought I would say this, but this place should be investigated by the massage board and shut down. read more

An absolute joke. I bought a romantic couples package to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. The place is so run down and it is described as having a sauna, hot tub, and massage tables all in one room. A complete LIE! We spent the majority of the time in super worn out robes getting barked at by the owner to go here, now here, neither soothing or romantic. The worst thing of all the massages were horrible and it seemed like they didn't have proper training. And this is in a random building with no privacy. BUYER BEWARE!!! Worse experience ever. I booked for my husband and I for a our anniversary. The place was clean but not luxurious. My husband's therapist was good and as we were in the same room, I did not complain. I did not want to ruined his massage. I had the owner of the place and I doubt she is trained as a massage therapist. She was just rubbing me with very hot stones but she was going over the bones ( whiwh is painful) And did not massage thé muscles at all. Foot massage was even worse. At the end, she asked me to include a 20% gratuity on top of the price ($235 for an hour for the couple). I told her that my husband will tip directly his therapist and that I won't tip her as I did not enjoy this experience. She seemed very surprised and assured me that she knew her acupuncture points ( I am a 4th year student in Tradition Chinese Médecine ) but it can't be true. I was fortunate enough to find this wonderful spa near my Airbnb and glad I did. Sandie the owner was very friendly and welcoming and Dana my massage therapist was great and had me very relaxed from my treatment. I didn't want to leave! The space has a wonderful patio area to relax after your treatment and the beach is literally a minutes walk away! I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Marina del Rey or anywhere else in LA. After writing the previous review, which I felt was largely positive, very detailed and accurate to my honest experience, I received a phone call from the owner the day before Thanksgiving where she told me my review made her company look bad and she felt I did her an injustice by not speaking to her directly about things that would have made her warrant less than a perfect score. When I explained that negatives in my review were far outweighed by positive compliments, like "best massages in LA" and that the things I found to be unfavorable to me were either out of her control, like the barricades blocking the beach front view, or inconsistencies from the groupon description, which she admitted to being aware of and being unresolved, or where taste based, like her earthy boheme decor (I prefer super modern.), she continued to defend her place even stating that groupon customers have been an issue and she plans to not do it again as she does not desire those clients. She continued on for about 25 minutes in a circle until I abruptly ended the call recommending she reread the review with a clear mind. I was startled by the lack of professionalism in her response. I left feeling berated and harassed for leaving an accurate review that would lead people who would enjoy her business to her business and would direct others away. It appears that she was only interested in receiving a 5 star review. While I still must attest to her mom and pop approach as being very friendly (while in the spa) and the massages being top notch, I would not longer visit this establishment again as I had planned to and cannot recommend this facility. read more

I've never left a bad review on Yelp because I've never had such a bad experience like the one my girlfriends and I had this past weekend at this so called Spa. I usually like to share only my good experiences, but in this case, I feel it's best to alert the owner and her future customers. Maybe the feedback will help her and the business. The whole experience was extremely unprofessional and of very low quality, from the service to the infrastructure. The group was unsatisfied and disappointed. The owner has been in business for long (based on the info we read). However, we didn't feel at all welcomed and unfortunately she kept going on circles when we inquired about the services we were offered over the phone and via email previous to our visit. It was even "blamed" on us (even though we were told we could choose treatments upon arrival). The website and reviews misled us, otherwise we wouldn't have picked this place for our Bachelorette party - the group spent almost 2 grand and sadly we were let down. We are currently disputing the charges. It's unfortunate, but has to be shared so the owner upgrades the place, reviews the prices and learns about customer service. The place is run down, dirty, noisy, the towels are old & falling apart -just like the shower and other amenities. There are not enough therapists for a group, and they are not trained for the treatments that are offered/advertised -- it's all very confusing and uncomfortable (and it's not really the therapists' responsibility). We were cramped-up in a room and the music was blasted to compete w the noise. Also, our therapists were interrupted with questions during the treatments. I heard the same feedback from other women in the group. The whole communication was unclear; the services and experience are definitely not worth your money's value. It's for sure overpriced, but the real issue is the quality and that we were deceived. The place is not up to code and it's not on the beach -- there's no view either. At the moment, we had to laugh it off and took some pictures for memories. The owner could see the disappointment on our faces so she offered each of us a 10% discount if we ever come back, but no one will return, sorry. read more

When i entered to the spa, the expectation of pricing was an affordable price. Very dirty, not organized, dirty towels, Jacuzzi looks like a improvised bath tub in the back of the building behind the massage tent, covered with some sun umbrellas and cheap bamboo fans, surrounded by tall buildings where everyone could see us . The pictures in the website are are not the real ones from the place, they are misleading and for me.. this is fraud. The owner kept on pushing us to hurry up and not take too long, in the end when we were supposed to have the "organic meal" that was included in the package, nothing came, so we asked for it, the owner replied that once she was giving us a discount price she was not going to serve the food but she demanded to pay $25 dollars tip for each massage therapist just to get back the $50 DOLLARS OFF from the supposedly discount she made over the price !!!!! Unbelievable treatment, the massage was ok but the place is an awful spa and a horrific owner....the demanded on a certain price on tipping was very very rude, the service, the bad organization, the cheap and low class materials used for decorations, the spa supplies like very old and dirty towel and everything else on that spa is not even close to the price they charged us which was $350 dollars for the couple plus everything she did to us .... I am only giving this place a 2 stars because the staff is very polite & they were probably scammed by the owner to work for her. But I am definitely giving the owner a ZERO and I have valid reasons. Where should I begin... First of all, the names to the spa packages are a false advertisement. There's NO fireside, NO beach view. Second of all, what's MORE deceiving are the photos on Yelp and their website! I should of listened to other Yelp reviewers that gave this place a 1 star. (Please read what others wrote). But I just had to experience this for myself! She responded to other Yelp reviews by saying things like "over 20,000 satisfied clients return and love this unique place...etc. People from America's Next Top Model, Rock of Love and other TV shows come here...etc. Our spa is the closest landmark to the beach...etc." Yes Sandie, even though your spa is the closest landmark to the beach. Please don't advertise your packages have beach views. Because there was no beach view in sight. Also, your jacuzzi delight was no where near that! It literally was the size of my bath tub and it probably cost you about $400 to buy. I do have to say your infrared sauna was decent. Your spa is definitely not a retreat-like spa. If you would like an example of a zen, clean, organized spa, I can provide you with some real examples of spas I've been to. Anyway, the biggest reason why I am most upset is your customer service. I booked your spa package as a birthday surprise for my boyfriend TWO months ago. From that time to the day of my appointment I received no phone call from you to confirm my appointment. So I called you THE DAY of the appointment just in case. Boy am I glad I did! And why you may all ask? Turned out the package that I wanted which included the mud bath was out of service. You also asked me to come two hours later than my scheduled appointment time. If you had great enough customer service or if you cared enough for your customers you would of called to tell me those things. I also tried to cancel the appointment but you convinced me to keep it because the jacuzzi had all sorts of "amazing minerals" and there would be additional add-ons for me. On the phone you said this new package you created would be $275. BUT when the staff tried to ring me up, he tried to charge me $315! Thank goodness I said something about this and he was nice enough to correct the price for me. You are taking advantage of all your new clients. In time, your yelp ratings and your past customers' word of mouth will reveal. Moral of this experience for other Yelpers: if you want a semi-inexpensive decent massage for yourself. Sure come here. If you are trying to plan a nice birthday gift, celebration of any kind, or even propose to your significant other, please do not come here. It's smelly, not very clean, the owner is very unorganized and it is not a romantic venue by any means. I practice yoga on a constant basis and I know it's ruining my zen writing this review the way I did. If she were open to feedback there could be a productive conversation and information exchange around how her business could be strengthened and her customers experience elevated. If you like converted condo's with nailed curtains and sheets on the wall with one open bedroom with two massage tables on it, disorganized masseuses, fuzzy fabric on the toilet seat cover and at the base, dusty old glass display cases, towels on the floor and a balcony view of the neighbors with a hot tub on it with no beach view in sight- this place is for you. How can you not give this place 5 stars! It was, quite possibly, the best massage I've had in my life and at such a quaint, beachside retreat! Sandie was very pleasant and welcoming and my therapist Dana was exquiste! She did a fabulous job on my intake and asked about all my past issues, what the chakra massage would be like, and what pressure I like. I'm tough because I like a relaxing massage but I also want to feel like I'm getting my tension and toxins out with a little pressure, so she had a perfect amount of deep and soft. And she always seemed to know which to use when. I highly recommend the Chakra Hot Stone Massage, I really felt cleansed, refreshed, and purified! Afterward, I relaxed on the outside garden patio and sat for 10 minutes or so in the infared sauna which is way better than traditional sauna-i never felt like I was going to die! Just use the facilities afterwards, the website says before or after but they recommend after your appointment. Wow, one more time, WOW! I had my fair share of spas. My father took me for my first spa experience when I was 14 in Hong Kong. In our culture, spas are a must have. It helps with tension and clears the body of all toxicants. In Hong Kong, it's a place of network, to hang with Co-workers or business partners before dinner and drinks. So i've been a spa freak ever since. I have had everything from aromatherapy, hot stones, deep tissue, etc., all over Asia, Europe and California. Asian spas gave great deep tissue but they really aren't trained all that well. They use alot of force (which I like). But they are applying in all the wrong areas. Usually when I go to American places, Burke Williams, Ritz, Langham, Amadeus, etc. it's more about the mood than the massage. The place look great, it smells nice but when it came time for the massage. It's an oil rub, basically. So I had an 3:30 appt at Creative Chakra. Usually I go a little early to soak and enjoy the steam room. But since they are a yoga studio and a spa, the massage facility and the soaking tub was all in one studio. So I had to wait. I was expecting locker rooms, etc. This place has a very chilled vibe. So I didn't really mind waiting. I hung out in their tea room, had some ice water with mint leaves. Listen to the Ocean waves (I think the beaches were less than a block away). When It came time for my massage, I was ushered into the yoga studio to change into a robe. The massage was a 10! It was awesome, She had great pressure and pressed in all the right places! I think she took out all my knots! They are so professional, for example, when I fidget or had a drink of water. Most masseuse will just start massaging again. But here, she re-align my body making sure everything was balance before she cont. with the massage again. They had wonderful technique. I told her I had lower back pain and she really worked on it. Some masseuse/spas ask you all those questions before, like where do u hurt, etc. But at the massage, they just go with their regular routine. Not here, they really focus on where you need help. Creative Chakra has become my only massage place in the world! My spa package came with a meal, Sandie the owner was super sweet by the way. Made me a black bean burger. It was also very good! I would say, great service, great massage but the facility is more of a day spa. It's a mixture of American/European/and Asian spas. Great place to come unwind. I was worried when I came because of the mix reviews. It was a little disorganized compared to corporate owned spas. Corporate owned spas are very systematic, very dry. Here, the staff are very chill and relax, and all they want is to treat you like a king or a queen. If you come here, please know that all the staff are trying their best for you. You would come to Creative Chakra for the world best massage and a staff that is attentive and sweet. Treat them right and throw your standard for spas out the window because Creative Chakra is the new wave of spas. read more

I brought my fiancé here the Monday after valentines day to take advantage of their couples valentines day special. We did the sunset champagne special for $298. The deal said we would get a one hour massage each, spend time in either the hydrotherapy tub, steam sauna or infrared sauna, and be served a meal with champagne. At first glance, the place seemed like a converted condo, nice but not exactly how I pictured a spa to look. We were given some green tea by Sandi and given robes. We were introduced to our massage therapists, I believe their names were Kevin and Naomi. They had us fill out a general worksheet and asked us if we had any certain pains or areas to avoid. My previous massages at other places were generally painful and not relaxing to me. I told Kevin this and he suggested Lomi-Lomi which were long broad strokes and not too much intense pinpoint pressure. I agreed and I'm glad I did! The massage was amazing! I felt so relaxed I almost drooled through the face rest from falling asleep, Haha :P My fiancé said that he also enjoyed his massage from Naomi. The massage beds were heated and that was nice, and they asked a few times if the pressure was okay. Afterwards, we were set up for the steam sauna (my fiancés choice) it was sort of a tight squeeze for two people, but we're slim so it was fine for us. The aromatherapy they put in there smelled wonderful and they gave us cold water too. It was one of those steam saunas that could be meant for home use and you can only sit in it, not tall enough to stand in, which was fine. They had two chairs in there and we sat on our towels and got in naked. We spent about 15- 20 minutes in there and it turned off. We waited for someone to get us, but no one did so we stepped out and waved down Naomi and she brought us back to our massage room. We were hoping to shower, seeing as we were drenched in sweat.. We waited a bit and Sandi saw us, a little surprised that we were already there, asked if we had been given instructions, we said no. And she offered us the shower. Small little one person shower, which was fine. My fiancé and I took turns and changed back into our clothes. Afterwards Sandi brought us champagne and led us out to the back where the little firepit was.. She brought us a blanket which was nice because it was already 6pm and dark and starting to get that beach chill. Soon she brought us a large portion of a very tasty organic salad, and some nuts, figs and chocolate covered strawberries for dessert. We ate with a little tray on our laps and it was very nice and relaxing. They had some calming music playing in the background, the sounds of the water fountain too. And the sight of the fire made it pretty romantic :) 20% gratuity was the standard I believe, she added that to my card, I was a little taken back but then again I'm wasn't too sure how much to tip anyways and I was happy enough with their service to tip 20%. It was relaxing, and I didn't feel pressured about time. Our appointment was at 4, and we left a bit after 6:30pm. Also we took a stroll through the beach before coming in and that was nice as well. Good experience, I would come back. Could be a tiny bit more organized.. There were no belts for the robes, there was some waiting around not knowing what to do.. Maybe more instruction, a little more communication would be perfect. But thank you Sandi and your team, it was great! :) read more
