Monica had us sold the very first time we met her! My wife and I got married 7-22-18 and Monica made our absolutely beautiful and SO delicious cake!!! She sat down with us herself and our 5 yr old daughter for the tasting, was just as nice as she could be, and then delivered the cake HERSELF on our wedding day!! We came back today to get a couple of cupcakes in our wedding cake flavor because it was THAT good!! Seriously. The Italian cream cake with buttercream icing is a whole new world for your tastebuds!! *Also give champagne a go, we almost picked that one!!! I want to start by saying the cupcakes were wonderful.. but that is all that was good about this experience!! We ordered 2 6" wedding cakes and 8 dozen cupcakes for my step daughters wedding. The only thing that was correct on the order was the Bride's cake topper (of course they charged me 20.00 for it). The bride's cake didn't have the chocolate covered strawberries around the base.. and non of the cupcakes had the correct icing on them. There were 4 of us that sat down to do this order. The Bride was very clear with what color's she wanted on the cupcakes and the design. She showed Monica (the owner) a picture and she was told that it was easy and would be exactly that. She was told the same thing about the strawberries. Monica was making notes all over the place. She cut strips of the ribbon we provided to ensure she would match the icing. At the time of the ordering I expressed to Monica my expectations and that I would it needed to be as close to perfect as possible. It was her wedding day after all! Now it is time for the wedding and everything to be delivered. I was not there when the cakes were delivered. But when I did arrive I was ticked off!! Yes the cakes looked pretty and yes the cupcakes did too.. but I paid 314.00 (40.00 delivery fee to go 30 minutes) and expected to get what we ordered. I called Monica this morning and right off the bat I explained that I was livid at the lack of attention to the order detail. I also went into great detail of what all was wrong. She explained to me that she didn't have any ribbons (when I sat there watching her tape them to the order form) and that she didn't write down about the strawberries on the Bride's cake. Monica tried to tell me that it was our fault that we waited until 2 weeks to order that cake.. Ummmm hellooo... NO!! She said it was the rain's fault for the all the problems and that I should have called and she would have come out to fix it. At no point did I even know that was an option and when do you find time for someone to fix it on such late notice! She also said that I shouldn't be upset in any way. How am I supposed to feel?? I spent $274.00 on all of this and all she refunded me was the icing and the strawberries (100.00). Personally.. I feel I should have been refunded all the $274.00!! After ordering my husbands cake 2 weeks in advance, setting a date & time for pick up & paying in full for an expensive cake this is what I received! A complete mess of a cake. My mother in law went to pick up cake for us & had to wait for it to be completed. Then once she delivered to me I was so embarrassed! It looks extremely amateurish. The Rice Krispie robot is not evenly round, has large obvious lumps even fondant didn't cover, the lines are very un even & crooked, the letters have black smudges on them. And over all just looks sloppy. I am shocked that they even allowed this cake to leave. I absolutely love this place. I first had their Pink Champagne wedding cake at a reception. I was hooked! For my daughters first birthday in 2012, I sent them a picture of a button cake. It came out to a T. Since then, for any special occasion I order Pink Champagne cake or cupcakes. I live i downtown Keller, and it's worth the drive. Delicious and beautifully designed. I went there today to talk to them about doing my wedding cake. It took a little bit for someone to come out of the back and talk to me. The girl was rude and said she'd be right back, she went back behind the little curtain and after waiting 5 minutes listening to some women back there yapping I walked out. Find another baker!!!! After we ordered an cake for our 7 year olds birthday party it was near impossible to speak with anyone to find out the status or what the finished product might look like. Once we saw it on the day of the party we were nothing but disappointed!!! The "skyscraper" cake looked more like a house with a blue front door and huge windows that were no more than white fondant cut into rectangles with no detail. There was nothing placed on the back of the cake, (I guess 360 it above their skill set). Also the "people" we paid for on this King Kong cake were never delivered. No one ever took ownership, no one ever said "I'm sorry". It was always, let me look into this. Let me find out more. There is an Albertson's around the corner, I suggest you give them a try first!!! read more

I ordered a 3 tier cake for my grandmother's 93rd birthday. It collapsed 5 minutes after leaving my house. It was riding steadily in the back of my new cadillac, so a pretty smooth ride for it. When we pulled to the side of the road and threw it in a dumpster, we noticed it was anchored together with 2 sticks. The lady at Monica's who carried it out for me said it weighed about 35 lbs. Also, I forgave at the time that the middle tier was made with the wrong cake flavor. They made that mistake up to me by giving me a dozen cupcakes in the flavor that was supposed to be in the cake. I told them I would be driving the cake for 2 hours to the party. They said no problem - it would be well anchored. Then when I called to complain that the cake fell apart on the following Monday, they asked if I had refrigerated it. I said no, I was not told to and that due to the size of the cake I would have had to empty my food from fridge and remove all shelves. The lady said "yes". I asked, who's going to do this? What about my food? She said someone should have told me. She was the one who took my order and made the cake. So I wonder who should have told me? I explained that my wedding cake was the same size from a different bakery and it was not refrigerated and drove MUCH further, even being carried up a flight of stairs and it looked beautiful on the day! I asked to speak to Monica and was told she was busy and she would call me back. Then I called a few days later asking for Monica and was told she would call me back. It's been over a month and she never did. I also sent an email with before and after photo and received no reply. I am out $200 and had to stop to buy 2 grocery store cakes the day of my grandmother's party. The cake was also her gift from my sister and I, so she received no gift. I am still very upset and intend to call my credit card company to dispute the charge. The least they could have done is return my phone call. I will never order from them again! A business is only as good as the people who run it. By the way, after the cake fell apart I tasted it to see if it at least would have been good and it was very sweet. The frosting was incredibly thick. The woman who made me cake said she used to work at Walmart. I've had better luck there. I tried 6 cupcakes from their Cruzin Truck. I wasn't too impressed. The cake was soft and moist but the frosting was more wedding cake type. They do have great reviews on their wedding cakes so maybe that's what they specialize in. I am one of those weirdos who must have red velvet or carrot with cream cheese frosting. In my opinion, it doesn't taste good otherwise so I didn't enjoy this. All six different flavored cupcakes had the same frosting. It wasn't butter cream either. If you like frosting made of shortening, as they do a lot for wedding cakes, you will enjoy this place. The price was great at 3/$5 but I didn't think there was anything too special about the cupcakes that would cause me to stop by and grab some again. It also didn't appear to be frosted by a cupcake business (something one can do at home) but their wedding cake photos look amazing! read more

I ordered my wedding cake from this location after a cake tasting my fiancé and I attended. We both liked the cakes we sampled and thought we had made a good buy. On the wedding day when the cake was delivered, I noticed that it didn't look exactly like the one I had envisioned when I placed my order. At this point I also remembered that I was supposed to have received a picture beforehand of the cake but never did. Not just that, I also never heard from anyone before the wedding. An email, a phone call or something for confirmation. Well when it was time to cut the cake my now husband fed me some with a fork for a picture we were taking. That is the only bite I had of this cake. It was nothing like what we had tried at the tasting. It was bad. Old, or just a different cake altogether. Needless to say, our guests did not ask for seconds. We got stuck with almost 2/3 of the cake and I could clearly see that most of them had not finished their slices... Just disappointing! The picture says it all!! This particular part of the cake was told it would be made of rice krispies with fondant covered over. As you can tell, it was clearly styrofoam. This was the highlight we told everyone about and as my daughter was very embarassed after we sang Happy Birthday she cried soon after due to  the upset. As im sure you know this poses a GREAT CHOKE HAZARD especially when your expecting a rice krispies apple.  I was completely unsatisfied with the cake. It looked nothing like the picture. The vine which looked like rope and tasted like play dough was halfway attached on the cake. I was embarassed that this was all I had for a cake at the party. I regret I cancelled my $25 Albertsons cake and paid nearly $90 for this mess. My daughter will have other birthdays but not ever turn 8 again. After the party was said and done what she had looked forward to had her tearful in the backseat. Will not do Creative Cakes by Monica again. read more

Well this is a long review but trust me it's worth you're time So... This place is pretty much one of the most unprofessional places I've ever had to deal with. I should of read the reviews. I became one of those people who decided to not look over the many (negative) reviews this company has. I mean overload of bad situations with this place, from not receiving an order that was placed, to showing up for appointments and the front workers being rude. Basically when you look at all of these (negative) reviews the biggest problem is Communication. Not only did I myself confirm my appointment on the phone a week before, I confirmed the day before. No one thought of relaying the important information that this company has 2 locations when there website clearly shows 1. No one told us the important information that normally they are closed on Sunday's so when we show up, there will be a large closed sign on the window. No one told us we should call a different number on the day incase there is a problem. We called the Only number shown with a emergency number that isn't set up yet... Good job. We showed up 10min early after our 45min drive there for our 1230 appointment and sitting there looking at all the closed signs and no one answering the number we left at 1245. Mind you at this point I'm very upset and in absolute shock that this business is ran like this. We then get a unknown call from the owner talking over ever word I was trying to say so I hung up since clearly speaking to her isn't going to get me anywhere. Again by this time I'm very upset and should be so I wasn't very nice when she called, to the point that I actually felt bad for how upset I was at her but in the end I'm the customer and I'm being told I was the one who basically made the mistake. She called back and spoke to my fiancé who again tried speaking to her while she talked over him, he told her we will not be turning back to go to the appointment because of the whole situation. She became visibly upset due to the fact that she came to work on a day she was off and that she's missing out on her life because of it... Like Lisa H said beautifully NOT MY PROBLEM. Don't be yelling at us because the ball was dropped on your end. You are running a business lady, YOUR business confirmed this appointment. YOUR business dropped the ball. YOUR business is not professional. It's obvious who you should be upset with... Not us, the way the business is being ran is the problem. Maybe next time when YOUR business is in the wrong you should bend over backwards for your customers. That's a part of running a business. If you don't like it then don't run one. In the end I'm glad this all happened, I avoided a big mistake and couldn't imagine what would of happened the day of my wedding when i was waiting for my cake to show up that didn't or was wrong. For my wedding I saw them online and was amazed by there designs! So I called made a appointment. Everything went great! I knew it would be great! Get to my wedding the cake was not decorated like they said it would be and the top 2 layers where the wrong flavor. I call to ask them what can be done. Not only was the lady on the phone very rude and kept implying I was lying but nothing can be done because on my special day I didn't go around and take pictures of everything they did wrong!! I placed an order for a specific cake a week prior to needing the cake: how big, marble cake, buttercream icing, specifics on the design etc,,,,received email confirmation and made deposit. The day I was scheduled to pick up the cake I called just to verify. Called and they had no clue what I was talking about, reminded them of the email confirmation, the deposit that was made. They had lost my order, and said that they would have something ready for me. I finally get there to pick it up, wasn't ready yet, they had it as happy 16th birthday; my daughter was turning 17. I ordered marble cake, ended up with chocolate due to them making it last minute. And overall wasn't impressed with how the cake, and icing tasted. On top of all this, getting a cake that was not what I had ordered, saying 16 instead of 17, chocolate not marble...still got stuck paying full price. Was not a happy customer. I found Creative Cakes by Monica at a Fort Worth bridal show. Every vendor's cakes had been sitting out for a while and most were either a wee bit stale (fair enough, no judgment here, it had been about 7 hours) or trying to overcompensate by making their cake way too moist, resulting in something more akin to cakey not-cold ice cream. When I tried Monica's cakes though, I knew that I had to take my hubby for a full cake-tasting. A month later, when we tried it out at her Azle store (with her even making time for us on Easter weekend at the last minute), we were sold. We set our deposit right then and right there and when we were discussing cake decorations and I said I wanted 3D butterflies on the cake, she called her other store and found gorgeous butterflies in our colour. My mother then indicated that she would like to taste test with us a week later when she came down. Even though Monica already had something scheduled and we had already booked with her, she scooched around her schedule enough so that my mother, my aunt, and I could come in and taste test (and my mother could contribute her opinion on the decorations) for a second time. Best cake I have ever tasted, hands down (and I am a very picky cake eater). Whenever I was out in the area (or I made it a priority to be out in the area for cupcakes), I would always swing by just to pick up a six-pack of her cupcakes! When it came to our wedding cake, it was beautiful and perfect. Her designs were astounding and brought our dreams for what our cakes would look like to life.
